Very pleasant old style hotel ,helpful attentive staff ,comfortable room clean good quality linen
Pros:

Lovely big twin room
Clean comfy beds and pillows big fluffy white towels.Loved that we could open the window and turn off the radiator and control our temperature.

Cons:

Lovely large window with heavy curtains …however we looked directly onto the street so when curtains open we waved to the bin men this morning .
Net curtains most definately needed for these rooms ,very surprised that the hotel did not understand the need for privacy .

Pros:

Excellent central location. Myself and a friend were staying as we had an event at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre, which was a 15 min walk from the hotel. Beds were comfortable and room and bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was standard.

Cons:

It's a bit dated decor could do with a freshen up.

Fishers hotel stay
Pros:

The room we had was excellent +a nice bottle of wine , 2x King size beds and 2x showers ,lovely bright room, think it was 315 , our problem was the couple we were with were on the lower floor which they say was very noisy all night and hearing people screaming and having sex , our previous night we stayed at Dunkeld house hotel which was slightly more expensive but was 5 stars 🌟 although we had a great room and no problem with staff Fishers has not changed 30+ years ago when we used to visit regularly + meals and drinks are more expensive than hotel stay in Edinburgh

Cons:

Hotel very tired in reception dining and bar area , food and drink prices ridiculous very noisy all night

Suggestion
Pros:

Location, comfort and friendly helpful staff

Cons:

Only suggestion would be the provision of more slip resistant mats for the bathroom as the tiles are extremely slippy. Even if it's not actually wet the steamy shower atmosphere leaves a slippy residue.... as I found out to my (painful) cost.
