I would book room only.
Pros:

The location was good.

Cons:

The dinner we had lacked taste. It was bland. You can get better value for food elsewhere in Pitlochry.

Hotel works for us for one
Pros:

The location was excellent
Breakfast was very good

Cons:

It’s a bit dated and needs investment. The bar area next to reception is
too small. Perhaps converting one of the smaller rooms off the main corridor into comfortable lounges where people could
enjoy a drink with soft music would be a good addition

Enjoyed the stay but not sure if I would go back
Pros:

Excellent location for everything round about. Most staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent tea and coffee facilities in room. Bed was very comfortable.

Cons:

Not as good as I expected. Cobwebs on ceiling light, mould in shower at door and on some tile grout. No hot/cold markings on shower so difficult to find correct temperature. Bed side lights did not operate from main switches but from tiny almost invisible switches on underside of actual light. Took a bit of time to work out, a wee notice would be helpful .

Pros:

Great location to the town and room great size with excellent shower

Cons:

Car park was too small for hotel but that's probably nothing that can be done due to location but first night arrived had to park in town centre car park

Luxurious stay
Pros:

Very central for the shops and restaurants. Fabulous room with large comfy beds. Very attractive property with original features. Lovely garden area. Polite and friendly staff. Shame we were only there for one night

Pros:

The staff were helpful, the room was clean as was the bathroom. Bed was comfy too. Breakfast was fine.

Cons:

We paid extra for a deluxe room. Room 208 was basic. We expected a coffee table and two chairs as per illustratiins for deluxe rooms. Staff said pics were just illustrations. Our friends paid £22.50 less per night and had a lovely spacious room (67)with seated coffee area which we had expected.
Felt that we were misled. We were not able to get another room as the hotel was busy. I felt duped and overcharged

One of the worse places we have ever stayed.
Pros:

The only positive about this hotel was the location.

Cons:

Our original room given was horrific nothing like the photos or room I had asked for. A dingy room in the bottom corner of the hotel with a view into the boiler room. I questioned the room because upon booking I sent a request asking for the room pictured with the double bay window. I had a reply from the hotel saying his was fine ! We went to reception and questioned the room given and we got “a free upgrade” to what they called the superior room and blamed booking.com for using incorrect photos. The room was large the bathroom a postage stamp. Bed was large but felt like lying on a pile of bricks. No sleep for two nights. Pillows were a disgrace. My neck still hurts three days after coming home. You can hear absolutely EVERYTHING from neighbouring rooms including use of the toilet. Foul!Bathroom was tiny with cracks in the sink, broken toilet seat black mould in the shower area and a shelf above the toilet - do not put anything on that because it falls off INTO THE TOILET!!!
There were pipes sticking up from the floor beside the window where a radiator had been moved. The huge windows rattled with the slightest bit of wind. Room had basic items no welcome pack with any instructions. No fridge, no safe, hardly any hanging space. Tv was on the wall fixed so you could hardly see it while lying in bed.
Breakfast according to other reviews was going to be cooked to order. IT WAS NOT! It was school dinners. The most disgusting food I have tasted. I asked for a vegetarian sausage - it came completely uncooked. Barely any choice fruit was finished both days we went down cheese was sweaty from lying out I watched others use their hands to pick up pastries and bread. Staff didn’t care. We didn’t fill in the feedback card to win a stay because even for free we would never stay here again. Faulty towers has competition with this establishment. AVOID!
