Caloura Hotel Resort

Lovely ocean front property with stunning views from the room. We enjoyed the grounds and how quiet and secluded the property is. Breakfast was fairly average but does the job. There is only soap in the washroom so be sure to bring what you need.

I enjoy the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of this property. The staff is very friendly and the facility is very clean. I found that the buffet dinner had less options than the years before. New owners, please don’t change this wonderful hotel that I have enjoyed and recommend to many family and friends

We had a lovely stay at Caloura Hotel Resort.

The location is quiet, remote, and beautiful—perched on the cliffs with peaceful sea views and lush gardens. It was especially nice to be able to walk down to the ocean through the grounds.

The hotel feels very calm and relaxing, but you definitely need a car to get around.

We had a ground-floor room overlooking the pool. The room itself was fairly basic but comfortable, and it was great to have a little balcony.

The corridor outside had a strange smell when we first arrived, but the staff quickly resolved it after we mentioned it at reception.

I wish I could remember the receptionist’s name (possibly Alfonso?)—he was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay.

We ate at the hotel restaurant a few times. The food was a bit hit-and-miss, but the staff were always apologetic and clearly doing their best.

Overall, the friendliness and helpfulness of the team really made a difference and made up for anything the hotel might lack in luxury.

Lots of free parking too.

We’d happily stay again and would recommend it to others looking for a peaceful base on São Miguel.

The grounds of the property are beautiful! The large outdoor pool is also quite nice. Staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet had lots of tasty options. The room my son and I stayed in was basic in its decor, but the bed was comfy and the water pressure was strong. The location is tucked away and there isn’t much in town, but a 5 minute drive gets you to the highway.

The property is in a beautiful location and the surrounding area is spectacular. The rooms were large and very clean and daily houskeeping was nice
The only downfall for me was arranged to have massage at your sister hotel while my husband was biking for half day.
Your hotel organozed it for me but did not advise me of the use of that hotels spa facilites was included in the day. That would have been a lovely day for me had i been aware and prepared a swimsuit. Also my husband would have been able to join me. Very disappointed as spent a lot on the massage as appears theu use of spa is built in price.
Other than that i have nothing but praise for your hotel. One of your staff i think Alexander perhaps was alwasy welcomijg and helpful

Stunning views, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food.

The property is beautiful and clean, the staff was great, the beds comfortable and the view from the room was amazing. The only thing that disappointed us was that the pool wasn't heated and was much too cold, even for us Canadians (felt around 60F/15C). I realize it is still winter, but the weather would have been warm enough for us crazy Canucks to swim.

The property has stunning ocean views. Looked like every room had a balcony facing the ocean and cliff. Simply gorgeous. Staff was very kind, informative, and accommodating. Food left something to be desired, but if you're staying here, you probably rented a car and can head into town to eat in Agua de Pau or further afield to Ponta Delgada. I recommend this place to travelers and nature lovers, as it's more centrally located on the island than Ponta Delgada, more away from the crowds, and offers a more peaceful experience.

Lovely spot on the ocean. Interesting and beautiful property was worth exploring. Trail down to the rocky water edge. Old short castle like walls to support a previous vineyard! The desk gentleman is a descendent of a family vineyard (no longer in the family)! Accommodation was excellent.

Gorgeous views, lovely staff, clean rooms. It was a wonderful stay that we will remember for years to come.

This was a beautiful hotel with fantastic views. We stayed at the hotel for our dinners and ate at the outdoor cafe area instead of the buffet. Everthing was fantastic along with the staff.
