Best resort we have ever been to
Pros:

Das beste Hotel, in dem wir je gewesen sind. Natürlich ist nicht alles perfekt, aber wir haben uns noch nie in einem Resort so wohlgefühlt.. Die Mitarbeiter waren professionell und so nett. Wir verstehen die Kritik an dem Frühstück gar nicht, es ist reichhaltig und gut. Die Lage ist außergewöhnlich und der Blick auf das Meer einfach traumhaft. Bitte ein besonderes Lob an das gesamte Personal ausrichten. Wir kommen definitiv bald wieder :).

Beautiful location, but seriously overpriced for the condition of the hotel.
Pros:

The Caloura Hotel Resort has one of the most beautiful locations in São Miguel. The setting is, without a doubt, one of the most gorgeous spots on the island, and this remains the hotel’s biggest asset. We have been customers for many years, specifically for this reason.
The staff were also a positive point, particularly the employees who have been working at the hotel for many years, like Emanuel and others. They were friendly, professional and clearly committed to providing good service despite the shortcomings of the property itself.

Cons:

Since the hotel was purchased by the Bensaude group, the prices have increased significantly, but the hotel’s amenities and overall quality have not improved accordingly…in some areas, they have actually become worse. The price now suggests a much higher level of quality than what is being delivered.
The breakfast was disappointing in terms of variety and did not feel appropriate for the price of the hotel.
The mattresses in our room were extremely old and uncomfortable, sinking noticeably under our body weight. The room itself also showed signs of age and lack of maintenance: there was humidity on the walls, cracking paint, and the bathroom mirror was so old that the edges had become dark. Lack of outlets by the beds.
There were no curtains other than the blackout curtains, meaning that if you wanted some privacy while still having natural daylight in the room, you had no option but to use artificial lighting. Basic bathroom amenities were not provided.
The hairdryer was extremely old, and even the diffuser attachment was partially melted and could not stay properly attached.
Several of the sun loungers were broken, other looked dirty and old, there weren’t enough small tables next to the loungers, and most of the sun umbrellas were visibly old, with strings hanging from them. There was also no option to exchange pool towels.
Even the bathrobe provided in our room was dirty.
None of these issues on their own would necessarily ruin a stay, but when you add them all together, they give the impression that the hotel is not being adequately maintained or updated.
The location is spectacular and the long-standing staff are excellent, but a beautiful location cannot justify continuously increasing prices when the quality and condition of the hotel do not keep up!

Definitely recommend. Excellent resort.
Pros:

Exceptionally friendly and helpful front desk. Alfonso Costa, especially, was cheerful, informative, and by far the best.

Food at the snack bar was good.

Cons:

Breakfast was a bit boring - basically the same every morning.

All the rooms seem to have sea view, the staff is very friendly, is excellent that they offer towels for the beach and also they change them if needed.

Piękny ogród, duży parking, fantastyczny basen, wspaniałe widoki.

Cons:

Monotonne śniadania, pokoje słabo wyciszone, wszystko słychać z korytarza a zwłaszcza hałas robiony przez panie sprzątające - od rana odkurzanie, stukanie butelkami, tak więc raczej się tu nie wyśpisz. Bardzo podstawowe kosmetyki - tylko mydło do rąk i żel pod prysznic z szamponem w jednym. Brak balsamu do ciała i vanity kit.

Vue sur la mer incroyable
Pros:

L’emplacement est fabuleux sur le bord de la falaise et de la mer et coucher de soleil ils sont magnifiques

Pros:

Sossego, próximidade com o mar, quarto com varanda com vista incrível, limpeza impecável, pequeno almoço muito bom, staff da recepção com atendimento de excelência. Estacionamento fácil. A repetir certamente.
