Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel

The stay had some positives, but there are several areas that could be improved.
The rooms are recently renovated and feel fresh, which is appreciated. However, some basic details appear to be overlooked, such as cleaning of smaller in-room items. I would also recommend avoiding connecting rooms unless needed, as sound carries quite easily between them.

WiFi was inconsistent during the stay. Breakfast was also underwhelming and felt limited, especially compared to the quality of food served elsewhere in the hotel, which was noticeably better.

The overall presentation of the property could benefit from more attention. The exterior appears somewhat unfinished or not well maintained, and some common areas feel a bit tired. At times, walking to the rooms felt more like passing through service areas than guest spaces.

The pool area could use additional shade and umbrellas, and there are none available on the beach, which makes it less comfortable during the day. The pool environment can also be lively, which may not suit guests looking for a quieter atmosphere.

The staff and service were excellent.

Finally, there was an issue with being charged for two dinners that had already been paid directly by credit card. While I expect this will be resolved, it was an inconvenience that required additional time and follow-up.

Overall, the hotel has potential, but greater attention to detail and consistency would significantly improve the guest experience.

Very polite and accommodating staff - they kept our room for us even when we arrived 3 days late because of the issues in the Middle East - they refunded us the unused nights without issues.

My husband and I stayed for 15 days at Coral Stand in March 2026. This was our fourth stay at the same hotel and we really appreciated the renewed rooms and the improved buffet. The staff was again as friendly and helpful as before and especially the front office manager Mr Chamara Cooray, who we knew from our previous visits as well, was as professional as ever and did his best to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The stay at Coral Strand was 10/10. All the staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly especially Shihan at the front desk and waiter Prasanta. The hotel was clean, had delicious breakfast and the location was superb, right at the beach!

We had a great time living in coral strand; the hospitality, the staff was really humble and sweet . Special shoutout to sakura and shana they were really sweet we wish we could also meet them at the time of checkout but unfortunately we couldnt :(

Our stay at this hotel in the Seychelles will always remain very special to us, mainly because of the incredible staff. Unfortunately, during our visit, we experienced an unexpected medical emergency and my husband had to be taken to the hospital. In this challenging situation, the hotel team went far beyond anything we could have expected.

The staff was always present, incredibly kind, helpful, and compassionate. They supported us every step of the way, helped organize everything, and were there for us even when it was clearly not part of their duties. Their willingness to help and genuine care made an enormous difference for us.

Moments like these truly show the heart of a hotel, and this one has an exceptional one. The professionalism, humanity, and dedication of the entire team were simply outstanding. We want to say a special thank you to Shihan, Chamara and Sakura.

We had an amazing stay in Coral Strand. When we wanted to change our room Austin immediately helped us and gave us the best room ever! We also wanted to have a tour in Seychelles and Sakura were too helpfull. She explained every detail and she made sure that we had an amazing stay there. Thank you guys for everything! My stay at the Coral Strand was genuinely fabulous from start to finish.

We were kindly upgraded to Room 504 (apartment), which was spacious, well-maintained, and made my stay feel extra special.

I left feeling rested, grateful, and already looking forward to returning.

This has to be possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Shabby and tired looking building, bored and inattentive service, dirty beach and grotty outdoor furniture - the list goes on. Also very loud as bar right outside bedrooms! Also do not go in Jan, its monsoon and you will get windy and unpleasant weather. I have no idea how this has received a 4 star on trip advisor!!! Do not stay here!!

The pictures of the hotel are not accurate with reality. Very old hotel with old style facilities, definitely needs update. There is no gym in the hotel. The location it's good if comes to beach side but unfortunately anything else it's disappointment. The stay wasn't cheap and at least to have basic standards it's a must!

This is the best place to be in Seychelles. The serenity and ambience is just top notch 👌, clean and very peaceful., with less noise from the surroundings. The staffs were so friendly, polite and nice. A big thumbs up to Shihan Sinethra who made my stay more adventurous and appealing. Thank you so much Shihan. I really enjoyed my island tours😘😍. The rooms were always tidied up daily and well kept. Big up to the room service department🤗. It’s really affordable and worth the price.
It’s well located and easy to access from the airport. The hotel is well equipped with the necessary amenities.

The booking was made after using an online price comparison search engine, where a clear total
price was presented and compared against alternative hotels. That total price did not include any
charge for a Christmas Gala Dinner. Had such a mandatory charge of EUR 340 for two guests been
clearly disclosed as part of the total price, it would have materially affected my comparison and
decision, and I would likely have selected a different hotel.
Only after the booking was completed did I receive a confirmation email ( attached to the email ) .
The email included an attached Booking Confirmation document, which constitutes the contractual
summary of the booking. This document makes no reference whatsoever to a Christmas Gala Dinner
or to any mandatory dinner charge, nor does it include such a charge in the total price or in the list of
excluded items. It should be noted that I was not the only guest to experience this deception.
While it is acknowledged that the bottom of the confirmation email itself contained a brief reference to a
“Gala Dinner”, this reference appeared only in small-print informational text, not clear enough, and
without being incorporated into the Booking Confirmation document or the total booking cost. Such
placement and presentation cannot reasonably be regarded as clear, prominent, and binding disclosure
of a mandatory fee. Especially since my reservation included bed & breakfast only.
Only upon arrival at the hotel, during check-in, was I informed that payment of EUR 170 per person,
totaling EUR 340 for two guests, was mandatory as a condition for receiving the room, with no option
to decline or choose an alternative.
This charge is a mandatory and material component of the accommodation price. The failure to
clearly disclose it as part of the total price at the time of booking constitutes misrepresentation and
lack of proper disclosure in a consumer transaction, and deprived me of the ability to make an
informed comparison and purchasing decision.
I must point out that the feeling here is that of fraud - the cost of 170 euros per person is also
unreasonable and out of proportion to the cost of the vacation.
