Very quaint and I liked the quite. Fun place to stay.
I did not like the virtual check in. Booking.com did not send my info to the site so I ended up paying for keys and had to go some place else to pick up. Also, they should let you know that there I no maid service everyday so you know you have to hang towels up to use a second day, I don’t mind using a second day but the towels have to dry.
Great location! Super cute and historic! Rebecca is amazing and super helpful.
The shower valve needs to be replaced in the honeymoon suite.
Will definitely be back ! Charming, historic place to stay. Great location and priced well. Wonderful little town to visit. Don’t want to leave.
Breakfast was ok. Location was central.
Don’t like the door opening app. I had to get a key because the app failed
Apalachicola, was an enjoyable sleepy town. The Owl Cafe was delicious and the little brewery across the street was cool. Enjoyed the dock and walking around town.
The floors were dirty, the bathroom TP holder broke, the shower flooded, the keyless entry was confusing and the age really showed in paint and room...
Easy to access. Extremely clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was hot and delicious!
Nothing!
The bed was very comfortable and the hostess was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect and close to everything.
The bathroom was a high step up and the bathtub was very high--difficult for an old lady to get out of.
The trash can in the lobby was overflowing Friday morning and was not emptied until Sunday morning.
Our first night the neighboring room blasted the tv until 1 am; the sound carried clearly through the AC vents.
Coombs is a quaint; beautiful place! Communication was top notch!
The property, rooms, and location are phenomenal, of course. We love historic inns. Everything was clean and inviting. The private balcony was awesome! It was so nice to sit out there with a glass of wine at night.
The bed was brutally uncomfortable and the sheets were soooooo cheap (and HOT since they were polyester). We barely slept a wink and are still in pain days later. I expected a good quality mattress and nice bedding in such a gorgeous setting; that was really disappointing.
The history of the mansion I stayed in.
I love architecture and this place didn’t disappoint. I will stay here again.
Nothing
The location was within walking distance to downtown, without feeling like you are on a commercial area. The staff was amazing from check in to check out. The breakfast was nice, however the egg dish was cold. Was not expecting breakfast so it's a wash.
The only thing negative is the fact that there is no freezer in the fridge. We were on a road trip and had a cooler with us and ice packs which needed refreezing each night.
We have stayed here several times in the past. The hotel was built in the very early 1900’s so we don’t expect today’s amenities. We love the history and the close location to downtown. The bed was very try comfortable in Room 2. It is a very high bed, but we loved it! We also loved Rebecca, the live-in caretaker. She is warm and so very accommodating. She seems to have all responsibility for everything, which is a whole lot. She is the perfect choice for a warm welcome!
Since the property changed hands, one can tell they are cutting back on things. Blinds were dusty. Floors needed cleaning. Dust on tables. Old chairs that the bottoms were torn on. Just all around needed a deep cleaning and a loving restoration for such a wonderful property. Also, Rebecca helped us change rooms when we found a gecko in our room! Ha! Ha! That can’t be helped anywhere!
We loved our stay the Coombs Inn and Suites. We felt like we walked back in time with the beautiful furniture in the house. Rebecca was very hospitable and friendly. Our room was beautiful and very clean. We enjoyed talking to her while we were eating our complementary breakfast. If you ever are looking for a place to stay in Apalachicola I recommend this inn.
Rebecca is awesome!! She's especially friendly, welcoming and promptly responded to my extraordinary requests.
Grab rails in the tub/shower and anti slip mat for inside the tub.
The history of the inn is amazing. The beds were very comfortable. It is all very quaint. The breakfast was nice, although not amazing.
It was challenging that finding the house (1 of 3) that your room is in was unclear, which resulted in us carrying luggage up many steps unnecessarily. It was also very NOT clear where the ice room is located. There needs to be a little card left by the ice bucket to describe where it is located. (at another building 2 houses down from us) The coffee at breakfast was flavorless.
