Rebecca is awesome!! She's especially friendly, welcoming and promptly responded to my extraordinary requests.
Grab rails in the tub/shower and anti slip mat for inside the tub.
The history of the inn is amazing. The beds were very comfortable. It is all very quaint. The breakfast was nice, although not amazing.
It was challenging that finding the house (1 of 3) that your room is in was unclear, which resulted in us carrying luggage up many steps unnecessarily. It was also very NOT clear where the ice room is located. There needs to be a little card left by the ice bucket to describe where it is located. (at another building 2 houses down from us) The coffee at breakfast was flavorless.
The mansion, along with the bungalows are all beautiful. We stayed in the Mansion the first night and The Bungalow the second night. It was so quiet and peaceful and relaxing. My husband and I have a son who is mentally challenged. The first night we were upstairs which was difficult for our son, but first thing the next morning rebecca, the extra sweet lady that takes care of guests and their needs, got us a room in one of the bungalows and it was just right. The continental breakfast is great. Sausage and eggs the first morning, bacon and eggs the second morning, with Bagels, toast, juice, and coffee always on the menu.
There was not one thing that I did not like.
Bathrooms need safety bars in shower.
I liked the big, beautiful, old buildings. The bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was nice. Plenty of seating in the common rooms and porch.
The bedroom needs modernization. I feel the sink could be replaced with a larger cabinet and still retain the charm. The shower facility was broken requiring us to move to another room. The shower curtain in that bathroom fell down.
Location was convenient
A lot of street noise
I liked the privacy, our own porch. Parking is close. Closeness to the ocean pier area.
The jacuzzi tub dod not work and tiles in toilet room broken, could cut bare feet.
A very cool town to stop in and the Coombs Mansion is a place that reflects the town’s history. I enjoyed the morning relaxing over our breakfast with Rebecca, our host, and new friends, Tammy & Kim!
Easy and friendly
Coombs Inn is a collection of rooms in some nice old houses. The room itself was spacious and comfortable but a number of reasons to mark down the score:
- the bathroom was in pretty poor condition with decaying fittings and tiling
- the whole palaver about the room keys which in the end we had to collect because the front desk of the related hotel couldn’t call a UK mobile
- considerable road noise. I get that old sash windows are a heritage feature but they do let the noise in.
Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever seen in my life. Don’t waste your time and be certain you understand their booking policy. I paid $300 for a room, but unfortunately had to cancel due to a family emergency. I was told that I could rebook the room but when I tried, I was told that I needed to rebook it on the day I cancelled. That was not communicated, but the property manager says it was clearly explained. Really? How you’d you know a future date? If that was clearly explained, then I wouldn’t have casually let it go for a future booking. They already had my money? I’ve tried to get a resolution, but it appears the customer service side of this business has missed the point. They took the $300, rebooked the room, and didn’t honor their word. Plain and simple, customer service doesn’t exist and “ policy” is the guideline. I never got the opportunity to stay at this property and I never will. Honor and integrity speaks louder than policy.
Excellent stay. Rebecca went out her way to insure enjoyable visit
The key codes/doors unlocked/no physical keys can be a problem, as mentioned in earlier reviews. For us, Rebecca made sure there was no problems, everything went smoothly
Virtual check-in is ok but nobody at the site ever is not. One coffee set up in room. Dirty. Ice is a block away. Rooms on first floor have the hall light shining into room 1&2 through glass doors with sheer curtains . Extra $20/day housekeeping fee in small print
Beautiful historical house. Room was huge, clean and comfortable. Nice TV with many cable channels, Keurig coffee maker (and k-cups and bottled water), microwave a fridge, were appreciated. Very quiet. We just had two very minor issues which management took care of quickly.
Very minor (and quickly fixed)- the Bluetooth keyless app did not work, so the gave us actual key cards on the spot for free.
When we arrived, it was unusually cold for Florida (mid December.) Not management's fault. But it was chilly in our 2nd floor room. Management ran an electric space heater over quickly, which made things perfect.
Again, very minor things. Compared to the value and comfort in this room, nothing at all to worry about.
