Great location on the river. The bedroom was quite small but otherwise fine.
We were staying in the first floor to the back of the tower. My wife's mobility is poor, so she needs to use a lift to go up/down floors. To get from the first floor bedroom to the first floor where we had meals involved going to the far end of the extension, calling a lift to go down to the ground floor, walking a good distance to reception, then finding the only lift out of many that actually goes to the first floor there. Perhaps we should have mentioned mobility when booking but I don't remember it being offered.
We were there for two nights including dinners and lunches. We were very unimpressed at the food and the service. It was hard to get a glass of water and you had to go down a floor to the bar to get anything else to drink.
I had an exceptional experience
Nothing to dislike.
Staff were very helpful. Lovely riverside restaurant with a view of the swans
It's a little tired and worn and getting from the car park to reception is rather a trek. Mattress rather saggy.
Location was good by the river
Dining area and bar had been upgraded and were modern
The outside looked very shabby. Reception was just a small table so definitely not welcoming. Noise from machines (possible air units?) outside our window hummed all night and we couldn’t sleep. Signs of mould in shower area. Hot breakfast was not hot, just warm. Unfortunately there was a feeling of shabbiness in corridors and toilets near reception ( men’s toilet had a dreadful smell).
Location was very good
Nothing
The big room, the view at breakfast and the lovely server
Old tv(not smart)
Good location, bed was comfortable. Room was clean although a bit scruffy with lots of scuff marks along the walls, unsurprising considering the tiny size of the room! The bathroom was also very small but clean and the shower was good.
The size of the room was absolutely tiny. There was hardly room to edge around the bed. No wardrobe or space to properly hang clothes - only room for a couple of short items like shirts above the desk. My partner went in the toilets in the lobby and said they stank like stale urine. Staff were completely disengaged and uninterested. Didn’t even bother saying goodbye as we checked out. For the price we paid, it was terrible value for money. There’s no way this is a four star hotel experience and there are nicer places to stay in Bedford, sadly we were left with little choice as it was Bank Holiday weekend and it was a visit planned with only a couple of weeks’ notice. Far too expensive for the experience.
Room size/fit out - view of river
Easy parking
Uninspiring breakfast, limited choice, no black pepper, etc - £6 for much nicer breakfast at rowing club next door - lift to restaurant not working
Nice welcome/check in. Comfortable and spacious suite. Lovely view of Embankment at breakfast
Disappointed with view from room overlooking streets of Bedford. Staff in restaurant did not offer desserts or coffees. Breakfast buffet cold and dried up although eggs were freshly served.
Room is ok
Hotel is rundown
Good
Best
Location
Shower
Large and comfortable bed, spacious room, not too hot, friendly reception staff
The shower wasn’t great - not very good pressure, no extractor fan so the bathroom got very wet, could have done with more sockets in the bedroom as the kettle had to be moved to a lamp socket (and the lamp unplugged)
Location, location, location
Tiny bedroom, only one bedside table. Smallest room I have ever had. Paying for parking on top of room rate when this used to be free.
