We arrived in the evening after a flight back from Tenerife. I have to say that all the staff were fantastic, they all went above and beyond. Check in was easy and I think we paid £6 to park the car. We had food and drinks in the bar which was lovely. A very kind member of staff brought over a couple of treats to surprise our children, which was a lovely thing to do. Pizzas and chips were very tasty and reasonably priced. Breakfast was excellent, we knew it would be from previous visits and they didn't let us down. We had a walk around to see the planes which the kids enjoyed. Love this hotel and we'll stay here next time we fly from Liverpool.
The staff here are incredible. So friendly and accommodating. And the food is very good. Highly recommend if you need a place to stay that is convenient and friendly.
Azul FC Football Club & Academy (Dubai) stayed at the Crowne Plaza Liverpool Airport for six nights with 14 players plus staff, and had a fantastic experience.
The location is ideal ,close to a great retail park with restaurants and shops, and just a short drive to Liverpool city centre. Despite being a busy hotel, it was surprisingly quiet, with plenty of spaces to get work done in peace.
Having access to the David Lloyd Fitness Centre next door was a huge bonus for a sports group. The hotel staff were outstanding and couldn’t do enough for us. This was Azul FC’s second stay here, and it’s now firmly our preferred base for future Liverpool trips.
The hotel has lots of character and history, having been the original Liverpool Airport. It still features small planes and an airport fire engine at the rear, which adds a unique touch.
Breakfast was excellent every day, and the bedrooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Highly recommended for teams, groups, or anyone looking for a well-run hotel with great facilities.
Lovely stay.
We stayed for one night before our flight at John Lennon airport. At the last minute I had also informed them it was our 10th wedding anniversary and they decorated our room with balloons and a voucher for x 2 drinks and snacks at the bar. A lovely touch. Drinks are a high standard. My husband ate at the bar too and said the food was very good. Yes the heating wasn't working when we stayed but I only felt it late during my sleep where I got out of bed to put my dressing gown on the covers. My husband slept well. There was another duvet in the wardrobe if we did need it. Maybe further into the winter , you might have felt it more. But the rest of the hotel felt warm and inviting. Staff were very good and friendly and we would deffo stay again.
I gave it a 1 because I had no choice. No heating in the hotel rooms even though the management are aware of the problem and still taking bookings
Beautiful hotel with great service
I dident eat while i stayed there at hotel was out eat while out drinks not bad good selection staff was fine bar erea very clean nice
The room had a door to the adjacent room, so every word from that room could be heard
Lovely art deco hotel, friendly staff, very comfortable, great breakfast.
Absolutely shocking stay at this hotel. The room rate was circa £350 for one night in a twin room (presumably inflated as the Labour conference is in the City).
The air conditioning AND heating system across the hotel is broken so there is none. The rooms and public areas are cold and we weren't the only ones to complain about this.
None of the lamps or side lights in room 30 work, so we could barely see what we were doing.
At 5:30 am there was no hot water for a bath and we were told this was because "everyone is using it" (at 5:30 am?!)
The service is intermittent, slow and lackadaisical ("I forgot to bring you steak knives. Oh dear, never mind.") but everyone is beautifully friendly, as Liverpudlians are.
Don't order steaks - the chef has no idea. We ordered medium and medium-rare and they both came very rare. We sent one back for an extra grilling (once we finally found a member of staff) and it arrived back with us not really any better. We gave up waiting for dessert and cut our losses.
On checking our when asked about our stay we reported all this (again) and the response was "oh dear, sorry about that).
My advice to you - If you can stay somewhere else, you're probably best advised to do that.
I'm disappointed not so much with the hotel but with the people working at the front desk. We came for a Liverpool match and stayed at this hotel. I'm an IHG member, and on the website I indicated that it was my son's birthday and requested early check-in. We arrived very early, and I know the check-in time is 3 PM, but my reservation was confirmed for 2 PM. I know it's possible to check-in early, but our room wasn't ready at 2:30 PM, even though I'd been in the lobby with the kids for about five hours. Despite numerous requests, it wasn't ready until the new receptionist quickly arranged another room. Even though I mentioned it was a birthday stay, this is the first time we've traveled, there was nothing prepared for my son, not even a note. It's sad. I've noticed that since becoming an IHG member and booking hotels through the app, I've been treated worse than I normally do!
Very nicely hotel only a shot stay but nice bar and close to shops.
Welcome and check in ok but a little luke warm. Nice building and room ok but what this place lacks is any kind of “service”.
Took 45 mins and 15 phone calls to order room service. Excuse when complained was that only 2 people can answer the phone and they were both busy checking people in. Seriously? Pathetic.
Food delivered and was disgusting. See pics.
Wanted to watch the BBC news but TV not set up properly so didn’t work. Wanted to watch Netflix - didn’t work. Not set up properly. No point in complaining as staff too busy.
Asked what time breakfast was served. Was told the person would call me with the information but they never bothered.
No information in the room. So didn’t bother to go to breakfast given my experience with the room service.
Lighting in room pretty dull and room very hot so dreadful nights sleep.
Other than that…I loved it.
Asked about my experience online and sent honest feedback and told someone would contact me and guess what? No one bothered.
What this place needs is management who give a damn as no one seems to.
Hotel room was dirty, food left on carpet from previous occupants. Cupboard fridge was in was filthy. Bathroom had stains left in bath, sink. Very outdated rooms.

Just had a one night stay to visit family. We were very impressed with the warm welcome we received at reception and continued to be impressed with the overall look of the public areas and the beautifully, well equipped and cleanly presented room. Some of the amenities in the room were a welcome surprise in comparison to some of the other comparible hotels. An actual mirror over the desk/dressing table. Robes, iron & ironing board. Telephone in the room and free WiFi. We chose a room with 2 double beds and they were extremely comfortable. The staff throughout this hotel provided excellent, friendly service with a smile.
Such a lovely art deco hotel, super comfortable bed .
