Pros:

The hotel was lovely, but the room just needed to be a bit clearer and could of done with a bath mat to stand on when coming out of the bath/ shower. Shower pressure was a bit low.

Pros:

I needed to stay at or very near this particular hotel because of an event happening there. Location was therefore ideal. The bed was comfortable.

Cons:

The room was a very long and tortuous route from the entrance/reception. It was also extremely small, and very warm, even when the weather outside wasn't especially hot. There was no fridge. For the size and facilities, it was quite overpriced, although that won't be helped by the fact I had to make the booking at quite short notice.

Not grand at all - actually substandard
Pros:

I would give this hotel zero if I could. Stayed for two nights and it was terrible. Too hot, too noisy, not a great room.

When we complained about the 'air circulation system' not working we were offered no compensation despite the fact that we had a really bad night. The second night was just as bad due to the noise from the party outside.

We paid £180 for two nights - really ripped off by a substandard hotel. We then went and stayed in the Travelodge across the road for £33 - much much better!

Pleasant and friendly
Pros:

Staff friendly helpful accommodating. Pool was good Food amazing. Additional sundries given when asked for.

Cons:

Toilets far from restaurant. Seating a little low for me personally. (Mobility problems). Beds and pillows a little hard for personal preference

Lovely clean hotel, clean comfy room, great facilities and great location for the races

Cons:

We had to pay £7 to use the pool felt given the cost per night this would have been included in the stay

A good location
Pros:

The location was good. Parking was free.

Cons:

The first room we were offered was badly chosen. The bedside light did not work. The bathroom door did not close.
This was rectified quickly with a move to another room, but one of the two bedroom lamps did not work.

Rooms let the hotel down.
Pros:

Ideal location for race day. Decent bar, nice food and friendly staff.

Cons:

The room, far too hot, no air con just a small plug in fan. Pillows awful. Bathroom dirty, full of hairs. Carpet stained as was the wallpaper! Fine for food and drinks, room lets it down.

Pros:

Good location for exploring the north East Coast. Pub and chain takeaway within short walking distance

Nothing to criticise really. Car park got VERY busy only because there were multiple events hosted when we were there

Good location but not worth the money.
Pros:

Great location.

Cons:

The rooms were dated. The bathroom had a chunk out of the door and marks on the floor. The shower was hanging off the wall. The wardrobes were old and dirty. One coffee machine at breakfast was horrendous.
