Motel 6 Elk City, Ok

I Do NOT recommend this Motel 6 in Elk City, OK as it was one of the worst motels I've stayed in traveling cross-country. It is in extremely poor condition overall. From the initial drive into the sketchy parking lot, to the putrid smell and warm air that hits you when you enter the lobby, the roaches/bugs in the common areas, the horrid smell in the room with decaying walls and dirty bedding/towels/shower curtain, and unusable microwave and mini fridge, this place isn't even worth the $60 to stay 1 night.
If I hadn’t already been charged for the room, and hadn’t been exhausted from driving several hours, I would have slept in my vehicle rather than this room. I had to strip the stained & dingy bedding and used my own pillows/blankets. The pictures I took tell the story. Room walls/ceiling bulging, microwave dirty and blackened inside, mini fridge not working, toilet seat covered in cigarette burns and yellowed. It was just BAD overall.
Didn't complain to girl at front desk because she told me she'd only been there 5 days and didn't even know if there was wifi or a password was needed. Figured she wouldn't know what to do if we did complain about the room's condition. Since it was late, we made due but didn't rest very well.
Luckily, I didn't see any bed bugs which is surprising given the ill-condition of everything else. The ratings on the Motel 6 should be much lower than it is as I didn't expect much but it was so much worse than average.

Rooms: Horrible odor throughout motel and room. Smelled like rotting cabbage and musty/moldy stuff. Not sure how the Health Department hasn't shut this place down.
Nearby activities: Route 66 sites
Safety: Dimly lit parking lot with trash and broken flower pots and decor. Right off of I40. No good area to walk dogs. Didn't feel like a safe area.
Walkability: Nothing within walking distance.
Food & drinks: All of the vending machines, ice machine, washer/dryers were Out of Order.
Noteworthy details: Motel 6 app ratings misrepresented this motel and Motel 6 Corporate should shut this one down for a complete makeover and repairs.

Front desk night clerk has the most out going and welcoming personalities I've even come across at any motel I've stayed at. Melissa was the best ever. Wish there were more like her at other motels

Was very pleased with customer service from the women that checked us in Oct 8th she was super friendly greeted us as soon as we entered the motel. Motel room was super clean and i was impressed with the tub and toilet they both was super sparkly and very clean. outside of the motel was clean. i differently will stay at this location again next time i come traveling through. This location was quite and was not a bad price for our room

The bed cover was stained, room floor was sticky and dirty.
