Excellent experience all round.
Pros:

We arrived late in the evening on the 7th of November, and were welcomed with a friendly face and a welcoming smile. The services all round were excellent. I also have to comment on the individual in the dinning hall. I wish I had known his name, I think may have also been a manager in the dinning hall. He showed excellent customer service skills and service. This person consistently provided exceptional service by attentively listening to the customers concerns, responding with patience and resolving issues efficiently, often receiving praise from customers for their helpful and friendly demeanour.
Thank you ALL at the Aqua Hotel, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Nice hotel
Pros:

Stayed for one week 21-28th Sept, booked a Junior Suite which i can recommend Room was serviced every day and had everything we needed. The suites are well designed with a dressing area and seating area, the only disappointment was that our room faced the mountains and got very little direct sun.
We booked B&B, and there was plenty of choice. However, the restaurant area was very busy, we varied our times, but there are a lot of rooms so it was always busy.
Service in the bar was slow at times, particularly when the restaurant was closing, and they didn't seem keen on you actually going up to the bar for service. There was entertainment each night, but it's not our thing however the bar area was always full.
The pool area is small, but there are plenty of sunloungers at all times.
The location is good with shops and a supermarket right outside, plenty of restaurants along the promenade, but they nearly all serve the same menu. The hotel has a separate restaurant attached which is as good as most. The railway runs right along the coast just over the road from the pool are so you need to use the underpass about 100 metres along the road to get to it.

Fantastic 14 Day Break
Pros:

Returned 1 week ago after a fantastic break at the Aquamarina.
We had a Premier Junior Suite and have no complaints whatsoever. We paid a supplement to upgrade for guarenteed pool/sea view, well worth doing. The room was cleaned daily with towels changed and the sheets changed on request. Toothbrushes, shaving kit, comb, sewing kit etc as well as toiletries all supplied.
The room was not tired in the slightest, balcony was very narrow however we could see that from pictures prior to booking. The room is cleverly designed making the most of the space available.
We were warned at reception that the card / key for the room could deactivate if near phone or bank cards etc. Wasnt an issue over the fortnight.
Safe in room as well as sufficient air conditioning.
I see some complaints about having to purchase water - That was fine as i never expected it to be supplied in the first place and plenty of local shops / supermarkets.
We were B&B which offered a fantastic range of breakfast choice for all, including glasses of Cava if you wished.
The cocktails in the bar area were fantastic and a special mention to Gemma who makes a mean cocktail. We had a slight accident where a cocktail was knocked over at our table (our fault) however the waitress replaced this instantly.
Location is fantastic. We did have one issue with the language barrier however the english speakers were the minority and to be honest I cant speak French or Spanish therefore cant blame anyone else.
No issue with sunbeds, yet even when its quiet you still get the strange ones that go to put a towel over their bed early despite there being plenty for all.
I would have no problem recommending this hotel.
Staff all very friendly, entaertainment every day and evening - Just go relax and enjoy the experience.

Mini break
Pros:

I decided on a last minute trip away on my own for 4 nights. I chose this hotel because of its facilities (gym and spa) proximity to the beach and a short train ride from Barcelona.
Check in was smooth and easy, staff were always helpful, polite and friendly.
The food was great and plentiful (I chose half board) breakfast had a good choice of fruit, yoghurt, eggs, bacon, coffee, fruit juice, meat, cheese, bread (there is a toaster) and at dinner there was always lots of fresh fish, meat, vegetables, salads. Good choice of desserts. The staff in the restaurant are always smiling and work incredibly hard. Drinks are paid for separately at the end of dinner which you pay in the restaurant when leaving.
The majority of the guests in this hotel are Spanish and French which made getting a sunbed by the pool very easy. Anytime of day there were always beds and umbrellas free… pool towels are available from reception with a €10 deposit, returned when you leave.
Barcelona is a must if you stay here… the train (Santa Susanna to Barcelona Sants) is approx. 1 hour and 15 mins and the metro in Barcelona is super easy to navigate and relatively cheap.
I had a really lovely four days here… it isn’t somewhere I would choose for a long break but for a 3-4 night stay it was perfect.

Hotel next to other hotels
Pros:

I was only there for 1 night. Dinner was pretty good. WiFi was ok. Good location. My room needs to be updated as I saw dirt and/or what looked like mildew in some places. Also was hair on the shower wall. Pool is a bit small. Very geriatric clientele.

Nice hotel, great location
Pros:

We have just returned from a week holiday at the hotel and only really have good things to say, I’m a bit confused by the bad reviews.

The main thing about this hotel was there were hardly any English people here, which meant there was ZERO mad rush for the Sun-loungers in the morning. This was a dream! I would definitely return for this reason alone!
We managed to get three together at any time of the day and there was always plenty for everyone with nobody ‘reserving’ them without using them.

The restaurant - sometimes there was a long queue but this moved very quickly and the system they have in place is really impressive. They take you to your table and place a card on there so the waiters know it is occupied (it has s red side and when you finish your flip it over to green when you leave).

Something we weren’t told which we worked out on the last day was if you purchase wine with your dinner they put a label on it and store it back in the forever for you and you can then drink it st the next meals. If we would have known this we would have ordered bottles of wine rather than individual glasses!

The food was great with plenty of fresh fish options and meats and salads.
They also had pizza and chips and the fussy ones every day.
Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice with fresh fruit always available too and the coffee station was great with a Nespresso machine as well as the usual coffee machine.
There was Prosecco available for breakfast as well!

The rooms are a little dated and the walls are so thin you can hear people walking up and down the corridor and closing their doors and even talking in their rooms so this is a bit of an issue.
The beds are also not the best, quite hard.

The location was fantastic!
The market is directly outside the hotel on a Tuesday! The night markets are outside every evening and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to chose from when you turn both left and right out of the hotel.
The supermarket is also handy for purchasing water and drinks and snacks.

The beach is a short walk away and is nice, the sea is extremely choppy though and there are lookie lookie men walking up and down- although they don’t pester you.

Overall we would return to this hotel, the staff are friendly and attentive and we had a nice holiday.
Although with this hotel being mainly full of Spanish and other European guests the staff only speak in English once they don’t get a response from you and you explain you don’t understand!
I speak a little Spanish so we got by but I imagine this would be tedious as they clearly know who the English people are.

Great short break!
Pros:

Travelled in August 2025 with my family. Had a really nice short trip at Aqua Marina hotel!

The Good Parts....
1. The Food - We went Half Board and found both meals in the buffet restaurant very good. For breakfast, there was a lot of choice, from continental to hot food. The only negative thing was that there was no proper coffee. Dinner was also great, with a lot of choices for everyone. Salad was there every day, and many other dishes too, such as fish and meat. Compared to most other hotels, the food here was great and very tasty.

2. The pool - Though not huge, there was never a problem going in the pool as it was never too crowded. It was always easy to get a sunlounger too, without the early morning scramble. There were many activities going on during the day, such as polo, water aerobics and darts. The animation team were great!

3. The location - The hotel is one of many along the strip. It is about a 10-minute walk from the beach, and just outside, there were many stalls and a supermarket, which was great for getting drinks and snacks for the room/by the pool. Though the resort is quiet, it is easy to get to livelier resorts such as Malgrat.

4. The staff - the staff were all very helpful and friendly. Especially the restaurant staff!

5. The rooms - We had 2 twin rooms. The rooms came with 2 twin beds and a sofa bed. They were quite spacious and had a TV, shower and hairdryer and a fridge which was very helpful! The air conditioning was good, too.

The negatives
1. The rooms - The main thing which lets this hotel down is the rooms. Though big, they lacked common amenities such as a kettle or coffee/tea. There was also no water provided in the rooms, and you could not drink the tap water, so you had to buy bottles. There was also no conditioner provided in the bathrooms. The walls are also quite thin, so you can hear other people talking. The air conditioning was okay. The beds were not great, they resembled camp beds and were very squeaky. They had metal frames and were quite hard.

The keycards to get into the rooms were a nightmare. You cannot keep them near your phones or other cards, as they will deactivate. This resulted in us being locked out multiple times and having to go to reception to get new cards, even when trying our best to keep the cards separate.

2. The cleanliness - the cleaning was not the best. The floor outside by the pool was quite grimy, despite staff constantly washing it. The rooms were cleaned okay, but as said were quite dated.

3. Water was very hard to get for free. You have to pay for it with your food at meals, and none was provided in the room!

4. The Spa - We didn't use the spa, but we were informed that everybody had to wear a swimming cap in the indoor pool and hot tub, which was very odd. However, the gym was good.

4. Location - The hotel is quite far from the airport. We flew from Barcelona and got the train to the hotel, which was disastrous as they were constantly cancelled and it took us over 3 hours to get there! We got an Uber back to the airport for 90 Euros.
The entertainment was average, but typical hotel entertainment. There was always stuff to do if you wanted!

The outdoor pool can be very deep, and isn't marked out clearly.

5. Food - though the main buffet restaurant was excellent, the pizzeria restaurant was not. The pizzas themselves were tasty, but the other food, however, was not. The burgers were cold and tasteless. The staff in the restaurant also seemed very confused, and it took us 40 minutes to get served!

Some tips for guests
1. When you check in, you can put money on your credit to pay for drinks or snacks at the hotel. When you check out, you get refunded for everything you didn't spend.
2. You can reserve towels for 10 euros each; this is only possible with cash! You can get this back after you check out.
3. There is a supermarket out the back exit to the hotel to the right. We went here for lunch and drinks, and snacks, as it was cheaper than the hotels.
4. If you are making your own way to the hotel from the airport, be aware of the trains. They are very slow and unreliable. The hotel does have a shuttle service, but it takes 2 and 1/2 hours.

Overall, a good 4 star hotel. We enjoyed our stay!

Fabulous
Pros:

This hotel is fabulous. So central to everything.
Food - where do I start. Such a selection and the freshness of it was lovely.
I’m coeliac and oh do they know how to cater for coeliac people. Miguel and Vanesa looked after me each meal time as we were full board. Able to pre-order for lunch time and evening meal but if not they took me around every single item to advise if I could eat it or not. They went above and beyond. All the staff in restaurant were lovely and so friendly and built a repoire with you.
The animation team were absolutely fantastic.
Javier and his team worked so hard entertaining everyone.
They even allowed my daughter to work with them and she starred in the Michael Jackson show with them.
They are a great team of people and so enthusiastic.
Rooms were clean and nice. So quiet in the evening allowing a good nights sleep.
Our flight was not until late home and we were able to pay to keep room until later as no one was due to arrive that day which was great.
The only disappointing thing - it was our 30th wedding anniversary when we were there and my husband advised me later that he had informed the hotel but there was no acknowledgement of it on the day. Even a card in your room would have been nice.
Thank you AQUAMARINA & Spa we had a lovely time and enjoyed our 10 days with you.

Holiday with family
Pros:

Rest in Spain was the first. It was not clear why there was no water in the room. And why we had to buy water when we had dinner. Water should be free for all visitors. I understand Pepsi, Sprite and Fanta for an additional fee.In principle, everything was great. Only issues with drinking water. All issues that arose during our stay in the room were quickly resolved. Dinners were excellent, a good selection of seafood and meat, as well as salads. The evenings were interesting. Constant live music and entertainment programs

Good hotel, would return again
Pros:

Hotel - very good and good facilities for kids. Behind the hotel there are lots of hotels and bars and places to eat. We liked King's which serve breakfast, lunch and dinner till late as well as cocktails. Lots of other places for ice creams, crepes, pancakes, hot dogs and burgers.
Train station few minutes walk. Went to Barcelona few times takes 1 hour 10 mins.
Beach - not sandy, small stony beach.
Sunbeds need to be hired for the day for 9 euros.
Staff - very helpful and welcoming
Food - very good choice for everyone. Miquel is very very helpful and really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. My wife had certain dietary requirements and he was so accommodating. Only downfall is you have to pay for water if half or full board.
Pool - only 1 pool so gets crowded easily
Sunbeds - hard to get at times but then after a while they become available.
Bar - good choice of drinks, reasonable prices
Rooms- average, very bad smell coming from either sink, bathtub or air Vents. Asked reception many times to fix but they tried but smell was still there. You will hear noises from room above and rooms next door and that is frustrating and also people running around in the morning when you are trying to sleep. Room safe you have to pay for which is unusual. Beach towels you can hire for a deposit of 10 euros and get it back at checkout. Rooms are cleaned average and we had to keep asking for a proper clean.
Overall a pleasant stay.

Disappointing
Pros:

12 of us booked for my 50th and my standard room was looking onto a car park and bins. When I went to reception the blonde reception shrugged "special occasion" inferring my 50th wasn't an important occasion. I thought it was a miscommunication in translation and showed the DOB on my passport which was met with an eye roll. 'Luckily' a junior suite was available at 40 euros extra a night. The manager wouldn't speak to me. There was one petson who worked 6.30pm to 7pm who was the only person who could make decisions regarding the rooms. .it was by far, the least sumptuous junior suite I have ever stayed in. The balconies are TINY. The rooms fridges are warm, they are empty, there is no iron. You pay 10 euros deposit for towels. The reception areas are beautiful, the rooms are tired and definitely photo shopped on 'love holidays'. The pool is small for the size of the hotel. I used the microwave as the food wasn't as hot as I prefer. You couldn't take coffee outside from breakfast, if you were bed and breakfast, you had to pay at the pool bar and if served a few metres away pay 3 euros service charge. And they dont let you in throughout the day in swimwear. Also the Italian restaurant next to the pool Veneziano's were sometimes ok if you had swim wear and sometimes weren't. The entertainment is on until midnight which was fine with me but wouldn't be for people with young children overlooking the pool as it was very loud. The JS was ckeaned daily but when i couldnt find my room key and lifted the cushions on the sofa, a child's hair clip was there with other debris which remained there for a week. Made the most of it but definitely wouldn't go back.
