Room was unacceptably hot with no air conditioning & no fridge to have cold water.
Only provided with tiny fan & un able to open window more than around 5 cms . Request for additional fan ignored.
No hot water for shower as thermostat had to be reset.
Breakfast poor. Self service. Should have more seasonal fruit. Congealed scrambled egg & bacon moulded together looked very unappetising.
The grounds were well kept & peaceful.at night.
spacious room for 4 friends attending a wedding
too hot!
Lovely location on a golf course. Really nice room - was one of the cottages at the front of the property, very quiet and comfortable. Food was excellent and the staff were all helpful, friendly and knowledgeable without exception. Overall we were very impressed and shall be returning.
The setting, the exterior look of the place and the stunning golf course.
The dining room service was poor, and large sections of the buffet breakfast were luke-warm. The room was adequate, but very tired and need of refurbishment. It was also an uncovered walk to get to breakfast. Lastly, the signage to navigate around the place was non existent or if there was any, not easily recognisable.
Lovely location, pool was quite so enjoyable
The room was too hot we had to leave the desk fan on all night, Breakfast was super busy and was average
Great food staff were great loverly old building with charm!!
Beds!!! Not very big & not comfy sheets were very stiff!!
Really gorgeous hotel. Lovely grounds.
The restaurant was lovely and served great food, although had no music so was lacking any ambience. I'd booked a table prior to arriving, which I was grateful for as the restaurant was fully booked. It was my partner's birthday, and he received a free glass of prosecco, which was nice.
We booked a superior king room with a balcony, which is down in the village, rather than in the main hotel. Gorgeous location, lovely and quiet too. Very comfy bed.
Lots of parking available.
Really lovely pool with a hot tub/jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
The room was very pricey, and there were a couple of issues. We had a broken shelf in our fridge, towels with holes in them, and card rubbish from beer/cider on the balcony. This was all disappointing, especially considering the price.
I'd also kindly asked twice beforehand if 2 wine glasses could be left in the room for us, but no effort was made for this.
Although very pretty, the bar and restaurant lacked any atmosphere really, as it was so quiet, definitely could've done with some background music.
We went to the pool on Sunday morning, and weren't informed that children's swimming lessons would be taking place, which obviously took up half of the pool, so we left earlier than we had intended to.
Lovely setting
Friendly staff
Food was great - varied selection at breakfast
Rooms very stuffy as no air con but a fan was provided
Property needs some TLC in some areas
Toilet n stairway from Trophy bar
Beautiful grounds on the golf course
Quite dated and no air conditioning
Amazing location and atmosphere with amazing staff
Leaving
Great location after racing and beautiful property. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic too.
Shower/bathroom not a great size and could do with being modernized to a larger shower rather than a bath in the Rose Cottage.
