Dinner and room both very good
No complaints
The staff is amazing.
The decor is exceptional.
I am lactose intolerant, my room did not have any dairy free milk for my morning coffee.
The overwhelming peace comforts and surrounding countryside
Such a beautiful place yet decoration is required in some areas
Overall a very nice venue and location. The place was busy with weddings but, you could see why they had chosen that venue
The food in the main restaurant wasn’t very good. It was presented well but was pretty tasteless for the money. The bar sports bar was also over priced. We later learned that club members got 20% off drinks. That felt like you were being penalised for going there
Lovely grounds with a great bar/restaurant area. Staff were all really professional and friendly. Great place to play golf.
Room was a little dated and could use some renovation. Same for the pool & spa area. It was great to have access to the facilities but it didn’t offer much.
Beautiful setting
Coffee provided in the room was rubbish
De uitstraling en de ligging.
We were put into an unsuitable room as we had a
small dog and needed easy access to the garden. When booking was made I did book and pay for a delux double room
The building is very cool, although the bedroom we had wasn’t in the old part of the hotel. The pool was a good size and clean.
The receptionists and people in the bar gave minimal service and appeared to not to want to be working. Everything was a great effort to them.
Our bathroom wasn’t very clean. Molds on the shower head, grouting a bit grim and the frame of the mirror was splattered with toothpaste and makeup.
It was a lovely stay not what I was expected I thought it would just be a room but from the outside it's like going into an apartment.very spacious and the patio doors were a nice touch going onto a shared lawn .There was a large TV and plenty of sockets .The evening meal was lovely both myself and my partner enjoyed at the cast iron bar.we also enjoyed the jacuzzi in the morning .
There was alot of noise from the bar late at night also there wasn't any air conditioning for a four star would expect air conditioning. There was a small fan which helped a little. There was complimentary tea coffee and biscuits however was just one small pack it would have been a nice touch to have one each and maybe less coffee if feel the need to cut back .The bath was awkward to get into for the shower was a high bath although rails were provided it was quite awkward
I really liked the surroundings, we went for a walk around the golf club after dinner and it was so lovely. Breakfast was good, the staff was very lovely and welcoming and the swimming pool /gym area also ok.
Our room, 118, didnt have air-conditioning and couldn't really open the window. It is also exposed South so it was boiling hot and I really suffered overnight. It is also ground floor facing the golf course, meaning lots of people looking inside your room. For privacy you had to close the curtains hence light on during the day. Very uncomfortable.
The location was beautiful and the entire grounds and buildings were breathtaking.
N/A
The restaurant dinner was very good and breakfast good although I worry about how long the hot food was kept "warm". A lot of food must get wasted.
1- unable to connect to WiFi
2- paintwork on door to room was peeling
3- THIS iS A HOTEL FOR GOLFERS! We couldn't get a table in restaurant on 1st night and ALL bar areas were noisy with TVs on and music blaring. After a long drive I just wanted a peaceful, quiet, goid quality meal. Even the outdoor tables were dominated by golfers.
4 the jacuzzi was occupied by 5 golfers and the swimming pool divided into 2 lanes had 5 golfers just standing chatting in the deep end and families in the shallow end which lef the middle of half the pool for others. There was 1 child and a swimming teacher occupying all the other half of the pool
5. Car parking. OK if you're the golf captain! If not, and you can't get in the reception area parking, it's a long way to park
6- no air-con and only a tiny window and a small table fan. Impossible to sleep in heat wave.
7. Room only services every 3 days!!! I am happy to retain my towels, but if I'm paying for a hotel, I expect my tea, coffee etc replenished and to have clean cups daily and toiletries checked upon. If I wanted self catering I'd have booked that and expected to pay considerably less!
Very disappointed with our stay. Will not be back will not recommend. Pity, as is a lovely building and has a lot of potential.
The location and environment
Nothing
Great location - needed some updating especially the bathrooms
Put next to golfers who were very noisy in the evening and noisy early am
