We love the location of this hotel, we have actually used this a couple of times when in the area for sports for our kids for the weekend. In the past we have had better experiences so we expected this one to be the same. The staff has always been friendly.
We had a couple of things that deteriorated our experience this time at this location. First, the parking is very very difficult. We knew this going into things, so I do not take that into account into the actual rating of this stay but felt it to be note worthy. The hotel should have it's own parking or an area for guest so we aren't searching for over 20 minutes in the parking garage for the remainder of the Rio. With that said, the items that were disappointing in this particular stay were the cleanliness of our room, the lack of comfort for the pull out sofa and the amount of noise in the room. We have stayed in your 2 Queen rooms, facing the lake/pond but this time we wanted to try the king bed with the sleeper sofa. The first thing we noticed was that the sleeper sofa in this room was a twin bed, not a double. We needed this for our 2 children to sleep on, which became very difficult to fit them both. Then the mattress was so thin that it felt like laying on bars. It was incredibly uncomfortable. If I had known of the size of the sleeper sofa going into it, I wouldn't have booked this as an option. As for cleanliness, the shower had the previous customer's shaved hair in it, which was also all on the shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers. This was gross. The bathroom floor was also quite frustrating with marks from someone previously that came up with a wash cloth. We also only got 3 towels for 5 people (one being a toddler so the room size wouldn't have been a concern.) On the first evening in the room I had mentioned to my husband how I loved that they provided a sound machine next to the bed to create the white noise for light sleepers. Within hours of the first evenings sleep, I understand why it was necessary. The sounds from outside the hotel room, facing the street, were incredibly loud from random traffic I guess. It didn't appear to have many people out there but it was quite loud.
