Awful the worst Hotel that I've ever stayed in
Pros:

This is by far the worse hotel that i have stayed in by a mile. We went to a bar on the main street and some of the locals asked where we were staying we told them The Royal Hotel and they all burst out laughing. Awful food, awful rooms, everywhere is tired and in need of refurbishment. It took them nearly 3 hours to serve our dinner, I've had better school dinners, we ate out on the second night. At breakfast I asked the waitress for a full scottish with fried egg she stated "we don't do fried eggs" I was given one sausage and some beans.
Why Caledonian travel use this Hotel on the North coast 500 is beyond belief. I felt hungry and dirty after two nights in this awful place that they have the cheek to call a Hotel, there is nothing royal about it.

Pros:

Staff very friendly, hotel nice and clean. The car parking at the back.

Cons:

Room was very hot and bathroom radiator was on even though it was the hottest day of the year. The Roku is a good idea but confusing when not used to it. There are a number of stairs - even on ground level so that needs to be clearer.

Thurso and the surrounding area were wonderful, Royal Thurso Hotel was very disappointing.
Pros:

The room was bright and airy. Location was great.

Cons:

One curtain was hanging off the curtain rail so it didn't close properly, the shower wasn't very clean. Despite having advised the hotel we are vegan, we kept having to ask for vegan options at breakfast and were met with surprise when we did. We did get breakfast but, on one morning, had them delivered one at a time, about fifteen minutes apart! The other two mornings, when Chabli was on duty, were much better.

Warm and friendly hotel. great location.
Pros:

Stayed as a B&B customer. Had 1 meal at the hotel which was delicious and great value for money.

Cons:

The maze of rooms! Once you knew the way everything was fine.

Disappointing
Pros:

Big spaceous, interesting turret room

Cons:

Some areas very tired. Dinner expensive and we were seated and then moved by rude and abrupt manager. Behaviour of same manager towards staff was inappropriate and made us uncomfortable.
