Needed greater attention to detail
Pros:

Reasonable amenities and relatively close to attractions. Staff friendly and helpful.

Cons:

We had dinner included in our option but this was only a buffet (in other Taj hotels we have stayed we have had an option of ordering al la carte). Buffet food was cold in temperature and breakfast buffet was so crowded we actually couldn’t eat on the 2nd day. An option was provided to wait and have a snack in the lobby but that was at full capacity as well. We paid to upgrade our room - the original room which should have been a superior was incredibly tired. This hotel was fine but not of the standard that we have come to expect - especially considering what we paid.

Pros:

Attentive and friendly staff. Set on an expansive estate, the property exudes old age charm while combining modern conveniences.
Although about 25 minutes away from the ghats, it is in a much less congested location.

Pros:

Housekeeping staff Mr.Shivam was ultra honest & an asset for the hotel - We had to catch a train on the day of check out. Running short of time & in haste by mistake one of our family members left his Coach wallet packed with high value premier credit/debit cards along with cash currency notes in their room but this fellow Shivam promptly informed at the reception & handed over the customer's wallet safely without even a second thought in his mind which is commendabe!!

Cons:

The food was not up to the mark & despite the 5 star or 7 star hotel we experienced a lot of wild mosquitoes bites during our whole stay. Secondly, the Varanasi Junction BSB railway station is hardly 01 Km from the hotel but the hotel had got no policy for a free of cost pickup & drop from there itself which was very very disappointing & frustrating.
