Nothing
Friendly, attentive and welcoming staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. The food and service was very good. Beautiful building and location.
We took advantage of the Sunday Lunch promotion coupled with a one-night stay. The lunch was really delicious; perfect roast beef with excellent vegetables and Yorkshire puddings. The only minor disappointment was that the roast lamb had run out but we were the last table to sit down and, with beef this good, it really wasn’t a problem. Our hotel room was superb; spacious and well appointed with a hand-written not for the Housekeeping Team which was a lovely touch to make us feel welcome. The reception staff were also very welcoming, especially Alexandra who went out of her way to help us enjoy our stay.
This is a beautiful hotel - and the staff were fantastic!
All aspects ✨
None
Peaceful and comfortable in a beautiful area.
This was a delight to look at as we drove up the drive. We were quite excited about what was to come
The receptionist was a young girl who really was a bit vague. ( and kept playing with her hair while talking to her 😡😡)
We asked for help with our bags, which she did. Well one bag. But what she should have done was ask us to move the car closer to The New House, so less walking and less carrying heavy bags. Instead our car was parked then we had to move it ( please just think practically)
The new section was lovely. But wow, did those floors creak! Strange given it’s the newer part.
We booked in for dinner as they had an August Special, only to be told it wasn’t on that day of the week! I looked on line and there was nothing that mentioned certain days of the week! Disappointing
Breakfasts were lovely
It is a bit out of town, but we dove in and parked and wandered. Easy.
As always, a perfect few days to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary - we have already booked for our 50th! It’s a lovely place - we stay there every 6 months or so, just for a quiet few days.
The staff are all friendly and helpful, without exception. Some of them have been there for years which, tome, suggests it’s a nice place to work, as well as to visit.
Our room was lovely -had been updated since last time -beautiful.
The ‘pièce de résistance’ was our meal last night! Sublime!!!!
Thanks to all of you again!
Breakfast offering was good, they have a nice conservatory to eat in. The room appeared very clean, although I did find a previous occupant's aerosol can lid underneath the bed whilst looking for something I myself dropped under the bed.
One thing I found awkward was that in the room we were in (room 14), the toilet cistern was 2-3 inches lower than standard height - this might not seem a lot, but when you're in your 60's, it makes a difference getting up/down for it. Not sure whether this was the toilet fitting itself, or if the bathroom floor has been raised around the bathroom furniture (the bathroom floor was a little higher than the bedroom).
Great hotel, beautiful setting and superb facilities, only had a chance to stay 1 night but made to feel very welcome plus upgraded to a suite which made it even more special.
The whole team I interacted with at the Hotel went out of their way to be helpful and friendly.
Hopefully next time I go the Newcastle I will be able to stay longer than just 1 night and sample more of the facilities.
Second summer spending a few days at Jesmond Dene House. The whole experience was a good as ever. Beautiful hotel, fabulous service, delicious breakfast. But it’s the staff that make it a great place to stay. They are all super welcoming and helpful. Special shout out to Tom T……an absolute superstar in the Front of House Team.
The lovely Arts and Craft hotel building, luxurious and comfortable bedrooms, cosy characterful bar, elegant restaurant and excellent food and beautiful garden.
Felt rural
Set in the most beautiful part of Newcastle.
The hotel building is stunning and the inside is beautifully decorated whilst maintaining it historic background.
The rooms are very clean and have all the amenities needed - fresh milk for tea in the morning was a bonus for me.
There were weddings at the hotel when I was staying but I barely heard any noise from guests.
Breakfast is amazing with plenty of choice and high quality.
Staff were very helpful, polite and made my stay very comfortable. A special thank you to Abby who was absolutely amazing. She literally couldn't do enough for me!
