• Inhospitable staff at the reception, maybe they’re overworked who knows.
• Outdated decor, amenities and rooms smell and feel damp.
This is a facility which reflects its age when compared with newer structures.
How does this hotel have 5 stars? Rooms are basic, breakfast was average at best. Location is ok if you need to stay in that part of Manama. Staff were friendly. The pool didn’t look appealing. There’s much better hotels in the area for a similar price
Good location
Rooms really comfortable having recently been renovated
The quality/variety of the food was not that great for the price. Also, coffee and tea are not included in the lunch/dinner price which was annoying.
Not clear how this hotel is rated 5 star. It was not our choice, but due to the fact that Gulf Air delayed the flight we missed pur connecting flight with Gulf Air, so they sent us to thus hotel. So this hotel used for transfer passengers. The strange part that hotel management treats different wings of hotel differently. The part for transfer passengers, is like hostel, its worst version, not clean, humid, dirty, horrible and horrible. For other tennants the part is much better and clean. The same story happens with breakfast: good breakfast for normal tennants and horrible in the dirty basement for transfer passengers. We complained as very allergic to humidity and dirtiness, and they changed our room. Even in the changed room there were small mens hair on the bed, when called housekeeping they said its just from the hands of cleaners. our only wish was to leave the hotel at soonest, we didnt touch the breakfast. Horrible service from Gulf Air, and Golden tulip mana shall be downgraded in stars. please see pictures
In the welcoming arrival experience was great. Front office bellboy are happy to see you coning in the hotel. A positive vibe in the beginning.
In the desk for confifmation of the booking was smooth and assistance are given. Room was clean and organize. Beds are comfortable. Staying for 3 days and wish to extend more.
Staff are well mannered with the services
Kudos to all the team
The Staff was very professional and friendly. The morning breakfast was delicious. The pool and health club was great.
It was very nice.
Good staffs
I always love this property because it always gives the homely feel and would strongly recommend others stay.
I had a short stay here arranged by airline when my transit flight was delayed. My expectations were very low considering how Transit hotels generally are, but this place failed even those. Plastic staff at check-in and check-out who were acting like it was a favor to accommodate my stay, worn-out rooms where house keeping is a thing of past, it just exaggerated the agitation and tiredness from missed flight with prolonged transit. The only thing passable was breakfast, which although basic, was ok-ish.
One of those uncomfortable stays. One extra point for breakfast otherwise terrible.
Very dated hotel ,staff not interested and rude ,air conditioning very noisy
Due to a late cancelation from Gulf Air meaning my 3-hour layover become 22 hours and I was able to stay at The Golden Tulip FOC.
As I wasn’t paying for this stay I was very happy with the accommodation and food provided.
The breakfast was ok but the other two buffet meals were good.
I slept well in the comfy bed and the room was clean and ready for my late arrival.
I was also able to stay for the full length of my 22 hour layover.
The pool area was nice and I had a pint in the bar before my onward flight.
I would choose to stay here again if needed for a short stay or layover again.
The service was good and staff helpful with good English.
The room was fabulous, spacious, very clean, mini-fridge, and self serve coffee station. Was on the 28th floor with a fabulous view of the city. The breakfast buffet was amazing.
As usual the Golden Tulip buffet breakfast was excellent and included in the room price too! The property is on a bus route from the aitrport. Big mall across the street. Clean room, friendly staff. Great value!
Great place
We stayed here while stopover in Bahrain and we liked it! Everything was great: the room, the food, the transfer to the airport and the attitude towards the guests! We wish we could stay a little bit longer!
Old furniture
Noise a/c
The rooms are very tatty and need a huge refurb. The staff are friendly and we ate in the Japanese restaurant which was super. It was just a stop over for our connecting flight so its a low budget hotel and you get what you pay for. I think the flies in the bar outnumbered the guests.
Quiet nice option for breakfast and comfortable room with daily clean up by the housekeeping team.
Nice facilities to playaround with your family or friends complete with spa, pool, gym and board room
