We had a fantastic time at Pezula Nature Retreat. The staff were exceptional! The sevice was top notch! We plan to come back as we gad a fantastic experience!
Really impressed with the spacious rooms, wonderful service, great facilities, excellent food and lovely indoor and outdoor pool and spa. Rooms are a little dated but still comfortable and elegant. Hotel definitely has improved since a previous stay and look forward to returning.
Tranquil spot to get away and unplug. It’s a really good place to go when you want to take a step back from a busy life and just relax and enjoy the finer things in life. The wonderful staff are ever ready to assist and the food is exceptional. Will be making a return trip

Excellent hotel!!!! We were treated like royalty. There was a glitch when we arrived and they showed our reservation had been cancelled. It was a mistake and they got it sorted out and all turned out great! Will definitely be back!!
We stay regularly at Pezula Hotel and this was the worst ever
We booked an interleading family room. In the kids bedroom there were 💩 on the wall next to toilet. Our bed was horrible and hard...kettle not working. We phoned reception to send the golfcart to collect our luggage at check out..non excisting...did not even pitch. We carried all luggage up to our car. Arrived at breakfast we ordered 2x cuppachinos. Staff where shouting an arguing in front of us....we did not get our cappuchinos...I went and asked again where it is and still after another 10min we left without coffee.. Personally It sounded like 1 staff member were not sober. We did not receive the R399 credit..I did asked them about it.. So sad that our favourite Hotel in Knysna was the worst experience ever

It's a unique property
Pezula Nature Hotel & Spa impressed us with the dual-room adjoining family suite. Plenty of room and upscale furnishings. The restaurant had a great breakfast each morning, a buffet as well as option to order. We had a car rental and went to several sanctuaries in the area. Spa was beautiful and relatively inexpensive. The grounds are kept exceptionally well. If you are in the George/Knysna area, this is a great choice for a hotel in a central location.

Only issue was no hot water to a take a bath & when asked to have it sorted out, nothing was done:(

The establishment is clean and well kept, however I am very dissatisfied with their service in general, from restaurant, they were short staffed and very slow. On arrival our room was not fully serviced, no towels had to request from housekeeping. The staff appeared to be overwhelmed and as such our a damper on an otherwise beautiful holiday. The breakfast offer was very limited and bland, not food you can eat more than once.
Beautiful property but it appears to be in the midst of financial trouble. Water was off in our room when we arrived. They stated they would advise once turned on but after a few hours we tried it and it was on but the water came out brown. After running for several minutes, the system did not clear and bathtub filled with brown water. Went to dinner and it was freezing in dining area (no heat running). I told hotel about sewage looking water and she said to keep running but I did not want to pop the drain due to floating sentiment. She advised they would send maintenance to drain but returned to room and they had not. I put my hand in the gross water to drain bathtub- yuck. Told my acquaintance while there that the staff have been known to steal items (he knew because he had worked there previously. Avoid this hotel
Not what I have expected from a 5 star property. The staff was great, but the place looks run down. Yes covid can be blamed. But they still seemed very busy,enough to keep standards high. The restaurant was sad. The food was not great. I had chicken wings, which they were waiting on the delivery for. It was not what you would expect from a 5 star establishment. You can see they are under staffed. The staff they have seems to struggle to exactly what to do. Yet it's not their fault, it's lack of training and management presence. The room was nice. One thing worried me the most: I have paid my bill at the restaurant and bar, only for a staff member to call me at my room saying I have paid short? Yet I sat there 2 hours without them saying anything. He wanted to come collect the money from my room? I refused. The next day there was no record of this? My worry was that the guy was trying to make a quik buck? So overall they reputation they have definitely does not live up to what you get, or pay for.
I had an amazing stay at Pezula, all was in order, service was excellent.
