Mostly good but shocking waiter staff at points waiter didnt allow me to fill water up said I had to wait until dinner to get water suggesting he was much more important than me disgraceful especially in the heat
Abbiamo trovato tutto ben pulito e sanificato.
We booked five nights at Antares last minute due to poor weather in the mountains where we had booking originally, choosing the Verona region for its sunny forecast. Unfortunately, we made the decision based solely on attractive photos of the pool area and didn't read any reviews — something we quickly came to regret.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was not going to be a relaxing stay. The hotel is located in the middle of an industrial zone, accessible only by car, and the building itself resembles a prison from the outside.
Inside, things didn’t improve. The hotel felt neglected and unclean, with outdated furnishings, rusted doors, broken lamps, stained curtains, and a dirty air conditioning unit. The room came with just one bath towel per person and no hand towels. Despite asking for additional towels daily, housekeeping consistently removed them without replacing them.
The bathroom was especially disappointing — the shower was extremely small and dirty, to the point that it felt unhygienic to use. It seems the property hasn’t seen any meaningful renovation in decades.
Additionally, while the hotel advertises a spa and fitness center, both have been closed for quite some time, which was never communicated on the website or at the time of booking.
This might be a tolerable stopover for one night if you arrive late and leave early, but it’s absolutely not suitable for a multi-day holiday. Antares falls far short of the standards expected from a 4-star hote

Dont go there!!! Worst place ever!!
We got sick of the food. Fitness and spa was closed, no info about it. Dirty rooms and rude staff! Just stay away!!
To be clear about context, we visited with a 40 plus strong music group from the UK, on a tour of the Lake Garda/Verona area. This was our second time at the hotel and it served our purposes very well. Reception were super helpful and pleasant, and the buffet style food meant there was something of good quality for everyone, and allergies and dietry requirements were taken care off. The pool and sports areas are great, and our students enjoyed using them, as much as they enjoyed chilling out and playing cards of a morning/evening.
The rooms are great. Yes, there are problems with some, e.g. a shower that needed a bit of imagination to get it working or a leak from the room above, that was swiftly dealt with by the staff. but the AC worked very well, and the beds were comfortable, and rooms were cleaned daily.
We left our rooms as we found them, and the staff were happy to return our full deposit, no problem.
The biggest issue we had was with other groups disrespecting the hotel rules, which are very clear, in particularly a group called Academica Brittanica, who seemed to let their kids make as much noise as they liked when going to their rooms in the hours of midnight to 1am.
But overall a great stay, and we experienced nothing of the negative reviews found here. Would thoroughly recommend for school groups.
Worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. First of all the rooms of my colleagues and I weren’t even ready yet. Then when they were problems began to arise. The biggest one above all else is the rooms had BLACK MOLD and they were brushing it off when we brought this up and laughed at us and made fun of us. Later on after we left some people we knew stayed and the pool was shut down for black mold. Health concerns aside the rooms had a shower in the sleeping area that was clear glass you could see through and some of us were sharing a room. I have no desire to shower in front of people. The door on one of the rooms didn’t close. When asked for a refund they laughed at us acting like we were lying even after showing them the proof. It wasn’t until I had to raise my voice then suddenly they listened. I will never be back and this place should be condemned.
Stay was ok for a one night. We were very dissapointed however that we were not able to use the swimming pool which is the main reason we booked the property. It is quite bizarre that the pool would be closed by 6pm in the middle of summer.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff.
This place is a terrible trap. If you have a booking and are able to cancel, please do ASAP. What you see is definitely not what you get. The room was so dam hot, that even when the obviously non functioning air conditioner was on for hours, we could not make it go under 27C. The WC kept leaking all night long, and even after asking for maintenance nobody came. The pillows where terribly flat and old, the phone to call the front desk did not work, the pool was empty and the “spa” it’s not included in what you pay and also has a minimum number of people to be activated (at additional payment per person). The restaurant serves only buffet so you have no lighter options for dinner or lunch… the room was old and damaged, there wasn’t even the toilet paper holding in place… apparently they do a lot of sport events with kids, I don’t ever want my kids there! The windows of the hotel even in higher floors still open wider enough for a 10 year old to fit in!!!. A complete disaster, waste of money, time and illusions of rest. DO NOT GO THERE.
The only redeemable thing was the girl at the bar, her service was warm and close. And also the man from the front desk that tried his best… but is difficult to support bad infrastructure with kindness.
Where do I even begin with how poor this hotel was. I had dinner here the first evening and all of the food was stone cold and there was very little variety, nor was the food in any way fresh. The bread was very stale and everything else was soggy.
This does not even compare to how poor the rooms were. There was no hot water and the shower pressure was almost non existent. A workmate of mine opened his door and the handle came right off, even though it was not his fault he still did not get his €20 security deposit back. The floor was alive all sorts of insects, they were not just on the floor, they were in my bed, under the wet mattress and the room smelt very bad so when i opened the window all the insects friends flew in.
Breakfast the next day was equally poor as dinner, i just wanted some fruit, but the only options were either fruit that was rotting away in a basket or peaches and pine apple in water. I decided to simply skip breakfast, I heard from friends that the bread was stale and the eggs were also very cold.
Please do not waste your time here, I will certainly never be coming here again, nor should you.
After entering the hotel my expectations were pretty high and after a couple of hours there i can confidently say they exceeded the expectations.Upon leaving the restaurant after dinner i was greeted by a very polite looking fat bald man with a mustache. He was the receptionist .He told me that he needed to do a very thorough search on me in case i was bringing anything illegal into the hotel. For some reason he first took me into a very dark room.At first this search seemed kind of strange since i have never heard about something like it but i just went along with it since i had nothing to hide.As he said beforehand he was very thorough.Altough i thought it was strange when he started grunting while searching around my groin area, which was the part he was the most thorough with, but he convinced me it was all part of the procedure. He was touching me for about 2 hours and kept making weird sounds the entire time. After it was over i just went back to my room.I've stayed in a lot of hotels over the course of my life. But i never had such an experience, where the hotel stuff were this much worried about the security. So if you are concerned about being safe this is for sure the place to go.All of the workers there were very polite. The waiter constantly reffered to my black friends as "negri sporchi" which i was told was a sign of respect.Overall i would recommend this hotel to everyone, the rooms were ok and the food was great, but the best part was thath everyone working in the hotel was very pleasant, handsome and VERY serious about their job.
