Stay was ok not luxurious and certainly wouldn’t say worth the money paid
Pros:

Old with a bit of a modern twist. Location. Most staff were really lovely just one not so nice in the spa place

Cons:

Few damages in the room we stayed in. For the price paid the standards were not as high as the other hotels stayed in before. Breakfast not the best, a lot missing from buffet. Tables not cleaned in bar and dining room, had to ask

It was a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Pros:

The room was very comfortable and clean, loved the drinks selection in the mini fridge.
We had a lovely evening meal but was a wee bit on the expensive side.
The Champagne Bar was lovely and good atmosphere.
Good breakfast selection.

Cons:

The breakfast room very busy and not enough staff to cater to guests needs. The first morning we were escorted to a table but the second there was no one at the reception desk. We stood for a couple of minutes then just found a clean table, which was hard! There were no plates available for the toast and when someone did appear to ask they took forever to bring any back.

Lovely building. Good location. A bit old fashioned. Would stay again.
Pros:

Pool and changing area was clean. Cleaning staff were very friendly in the pool area. Liked the fact the pool opened early. Breakfast was very good. Grounds around the house are neat and tidy.

Cons:

It is a bit dated and would really benefit from some modernising. Mattresses were far too soft and not all that comfortable. Not great soundproofing- could hear conversations had in the rooms from our room in the hallway.

Great food, nice location and surroundings.
Pros:

We had a lovely dinner, which was excellent. The service was great and a lovely young lady called Isla served us throughout the evening and was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Pros:

Amazing grounds and overall very beautiful

Cons:

The swim only permitting children to swim bewteen certain times. The half 6 could be later as due to other activities I couldn't use the pool and I only picked this hotel for use of swimming facilities which meant I could only really have a hour swim on the sunday morning. I arrived later than expected but meant I couldnt use the pool on friday due to child times and Saturday I needed to leave at 8am and came back to hotel at 5.30. Which by the time I went to room and back I wouldnt of had anytime in pool. Happy to have an hour in pool on the Sunday due to leaving at 10am. It could be pushed back later. Maybe till 7.30 or 8pm
