Great facilities in the spa
The coffee machine was working at breakfast :)
Location/ bed/ spacious room / great meals in the bar and restaurant / stunning gardens / Great service from bar staff and restaurant staff and room service
Spa/gym both looking A bit old fashioned / tired and not kept clean regularly / damp smell in bathrooms . Breakfast buffet is rather dull. EV charging points were broken / no notice put up to inform guests .
Hotel was lovely. Beautiful grounds.
Receptionist who refused to crack a smile.
We were upgraded to a better room, because the first room provided was a long way from lifts and my partner is suffering from a back problem at the moment. The kind receptionist upgraded us, so we had a super king bed and large walk in shower
Breakfast is not what you would expect if such a lovely hotel: everything is self service including teas and coffees. I much prefer to be served at the table.
The space was good, very clean and comfortable
The leisure facility was a little too busy
Location, grounds and facilites fantastic.
Lacking in toiletries in the room. Would have liked robes and more selection of towels. Also, a handheld shower for feminine hygiene. Our lighting in the room was bad and needed maintenance.
It was very beautiful, decor was nice staff were so friendly, had a meal in the evening with my daughter enjoyed the spa and had some treatments. Rooms are spacious .
There wasn’t anything to dislike
Room size perfect, TV size in room impressive. Spa facilities great.
The smell throughout was pleasant.

Everything!!!! Was my thing this place! The history the setting and grandeur of it all!
Will definitely return it’s a place for total relaxation 🤗🥰
Nothing- if I had to pick a small negative we ordered sandwiches one evening and they were ‘very basic’ egg mayo and fresh pea shoots but there weren’t any? Served very basic and expected better tbh!! No garnish or cut stylishly etc!
Room, breakfast, dinner, location, pool and spa treatment, convenient car park
Took a trip to nearby RSPB site, St Aidens which we enjoyed- good walk and cafe
No problems on the stay
Staff at breakfast were great
I waited 20 minutes for 2 soft boiled eggs
everything went well and the staff ensured our stay was as comfortable as could be. I absolutely loved the spa area and enjoyed my time there. The breakfast was very good too with plenty of choices
There was not anything we did not like
As good as always staff good food good room good hotel good.
One of our favourites
Music in the bar area in the evening - ok if we were going to a rave 🤣🤣
