Parents stayed here the weekend when visiting. They said the hotel rooms were very dated but more than adequate, and good value for money. The breakfast was great and the lady in reception really helpful
One night though they had an issue with booming music. When my dad went down to the bar to ask very politely if they could turn it down a bit, they were advised it was a Friday night and only 10.30.....there were 2 people in the bar and the barmaid in her dressing ground, classy! Couldn't have been any ruder, shame really
Some staff helpful, some not.
Had problems with the car & couldn’t go out for food on the first night there & as they do not do evening meals until March, ended up going to cost cutters across the road for sandwiches ( which were very nice).
Reception said could not make us a sandwich as no chef available.
TV wouldn’t work, on 3rd night, 2 staff tried their best, even looked for a replacement TV, but no luck.
No hot water on the morning we left for a shower. Reception just said sorry.
Had room at front of building, traffic noise loud.
Cleaner could use some training as could the decorator.
One of the light switches next to bed didn’t work.
Lino in bathroom split & lifting.
Light above bathroom mirror not working.
Area around handle in bath, broken & plastered over.
Skirting boards & radiator in bathroom very dirty.
Could go on, but………..
Very disappointed.
Would not recommend to anyone or go back there.
Great spa / hotel
Friendly staff amd great bar :) would recommend. Looking forward to trying out the restaurant on my next visit. Would be fun to watch World Cup games there
This hotel is a shambles rude staff I wouldn’t even give a 1 star bathroom and shower was disguising under the bed looked liked it hadn’t been hoovered for a while.
Room was clean but damp patches in the bathroom ceiling with holes in it was not pleasant wardrobe was peeling and taps made terrible noise when you turned it on sink was cracked
Had a nice stay at the Shurland. The room was simple but comfortable, and I slept well. Staff were really friendly and easy to chat with, which made a difference.
We had dinner in the restaurant downstairs and the food was actually better than I expected. The bar was a good spot to relax in the evening too. Didn’t get to use the spa this time but it looked nice.
All in all, a good stay and I’d happily come back if I’m in the area again.
The staff were friendly and accommodating but the quality of the room wasn’t great at all, sadly.
The bed was very old, mattress was very soft and you could feel the springs - I was very lucky not to put my back out on the two nights I stayed. The whole hotel needs a refresh. The bathroom was tired, the water system was struggling at times and making some very odd sounds. Carpet wasn’t cleaned and needed replacing. The continental breakfast wasn’t appealing so me and my wife decided to drive out and find a service station to have some breakfast 15 mins drive out.
Very disappointing stay at this hotel. Firstly, the room was small and needed decorating. The bed was awful, it sank in the middle and there was 2 small pillows tucked into 1 pillowcase. As for breakfast, well this was literally non existent. There is no such thing as full English which is advertised even in your room information. The continental option was poor, consisting of cheap poor coffee and toast. We had a drink in the bar! The larger was warm and the person serving could not poor a decent pint. This hotel is on a bust road, so expect little sleep. All in all a very poor hotel
The whole place looked tired and unloved, the room was unclean with coffee stains up the doors paintwork old, chipped and in need of attention. The bathroom was tiny. And dirty. Although the towels were fresh. In short a far cry from its advert. Didn’t. Have a clue regarding the food it was awful. Will never stay again. But the staff were great.
Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Advertised as a 3 star but in reality it's a 2 star at best. The photos on trip advisor do not, in any way, represent the hotel as it looks now. Very outdated, rooms were like something out of the 80's. Very uncomfortable beds, stale beer in the bar which resulted in some stomach problems a few hours later. No staff about at all as it's obviously a family run hotel. Plaster falling off the ceiling in the bar which we stayed in for about ten minutes after being served a very bad smelling and tasting beer from the pumps. My son and his gf stayed as well and bought the breakfast which only consisted of a very poor "continental" breakfast although they advertise that they do a full English breakfast. It's also located on a very busy road so if your room looks out on to the busy street then you will be woken up very early by deliveries to the shops located just outside. Not the cheapest either considering what you get for your money. In my opinion the place needs closing down and updating a lot. Save your money and go elsewhere.
This is a cheap hotel in the middle of sheerness. No it’s not five star but service was excellent. Can’t remember the last time a staff member showed you to the room. Would definitely stay again.
not bad, shower not too powerfull but all in all okay good value for money
Old
The most disgusting hotel I’ve been in. It doesn’t even deserve 1star. It needs to be closed down.
Our room. Room 1, had blood and spit stains up the curtains. The bed had plaster board and off cuts of wood underneath the mattress to give it support. The headboard had a massive hole that was taped up with gaffa tape. The bathroom was full of limescale and the decor itself was showing damp/leeks. We refused to stay on that room and was shown another which wasn’t as bad but still had major issues. There were stains around the wall by the bed. The bathroom ceiling had a hole and was on the brink of collapse. We went to reception and complained and requested a refund to which they are refusing as they say the room we was originally given was clean and it’s not their fault we are un satisfied.
No apologies from them just took the money. We are still in disputes with them as we are not just going to let them do this.
Avoid this hotel at all costs they just want your money.
On arrival your bill & breakfast cost has to be settled before your keys are issued. Which is a first for myself.
Ojay
There was no best part.
Rundown, dirty, no atmosphere.
As another guest said .
This hotel is like faulty towers.
Pictures on site are years out of date.
1st room we were in had a piece of wood nailed onto the bed base so the mattress wouldn't fall through.
Hotel needs a complete refurbishment
Last min booking as been let down from a near by campsite , I contacted the shurland hotel , and the guy on reception pulled out all the stops to help us , room 7 was lovely and clean , and il def book here again , thankyou so much for being very professional and helping me and my family out in what was becoming a absolute nightmare , but turned out to be the perfect day and ending at your lovely hotel , thankyou ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I didn’t like to said is king size bed but it was double
We stayed in the junior suite (room 7).
Initial glance it's a nice size nice decor, could nit really see the tv from the bed. Paintwork and doors need a makeover. Bed was OK ish. Toilet took an age to fill before you could flush it. 1 ply loo roll.
Staff friendly but the guy was running between reception and the bar. It stated breakfast included but nowhere did it say continental. Coffee was awful. Just had a yogurt. Think we were the only guests as it was dead.
