At one with nature in luxury

Cons:

There is NO privacy. On 3 separate occasions we had maintenance or housekeeping staff waltz into our room unannounced while we were in the room. The 3rd time was after we complained and with a do not disturb sign on the door. We even had a maintenance person sweeping out private balcony while we were showering. Twice, we also found replaced bath towels that had eye makeup on them and were not cleaned properly.

Die Anlage ist grundsätzlich sehr schön gestaltet und wirkt insgesamt sehr grün und gepflegt. Die Zimmer waren ordentlich ausgestattet und boten alles, was man für einen Aufenthalt benötigt. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist das Frühstück, das eine sehr umfangreiche Auswahl bot und qualitativ überzeugt hat. Das hauseigene-Shuttle war wirklich sehr gut.

Cons:

Leider hat man an vielen Stellen gesehen, dass Teile der Anlage dringend renoviert werden müssten. Es gab zahlreiche beschädigte oder stark abgenutzte Bereiche – etwa abgeplatzte Stellen an der Fassade oder an Einrichtungsgegenständen sowie stark durchgesessene Stühle.

Auch der Service hat uns enttäuscht. Obwohl viele Mitarbeitende vor Ort waren, wirkte der Einsatz des Personals teilweise unkoordiniert. Besonders negativ war unser Besuch im hoteleigenen Sauvage-Restaurant, das sehr gut bewertet ist und für das wir einen Tisch reserviert hatten. Trotz nur weniger besetzter Tische und zwei Mitarbeitenden war das Gesamterlebnis leider sehr schwach.

Die Weinkarte bot lediglich zwei offene Weißweine und ein bis zwei offene Rotweine – überraschend wenig für eine Weinregion. Ein Glas Sparkling Wine zum Aperitif war laut Personal nicht verfügbar, da „Ende des Monats“ sei und keine Bestände mehr vorhanden seien. Alternativen wurden nicht angeboten.

Auch beim Essen gab es Probleme – die Entenbrust war nicht durchgebraten und beeinträchtigte das Geschmackserlebnis. Seitens des Personals gab es auch keine Rückfrage, ob es geschmeckt hat. Zusätzlich wurde die Rechnung handschriftlich übertragen, obwohl ein digitaler Ausdruck vorlag, und dabei falsch (mehr) berechnet.

Positiv ist, dass sich der Hoteldirektor im Nachgang bei uns gemeldet und für die Situation entschuldigt hat. Dennoch muss man sagen, dass das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis insgesamt nicht überzeugt.

Die Sauberkeit lies sehr zu Wünschen übrig. In meinem Zimmer waren noch Haare vom vorherigen Gast zu finden.

Luxurious resort surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Pros:

Beautiful surroundings in Franschhoek- amazing grounds and pool. We visited in March so having a heated jacuzzi was lovely for cooler days. We stayed in a delux villa and my parents had a one bedroom villa. Both were spacious and stylish. The staff were so helpful going the extra mile and being very kind to my two young children. The breakfast was fantastic. It’s a lovely spa hotel on the outskirts of Franschhoek - the complimentary shuttle into town is efficient and allows easy access to town.

Good buffet breakfast with a vast array of hot and cold options.
Free shuttle bus into and collection from town was essential - not walkable in 32 degrees
NIce outdoor pool area with bar and plenty of loungers - water in the hot tub was incredibly hot
Backdrop of sheer mountains so close to the hotel - stunning - bungalows set un well tended gardens

Cons:

Trivial, but would have preferred chocolates for a bedtime treat rather than the ultra sweet fruity things we regularly received.

Pros:

Breakfast was good but not wow. Room was very spacious with beautiful view of the mountains. Stunning property but just needs to pay attention on cleanliness in some areas. Bathroom had funny smell coming out of the shower drain.
Shuttle service is excellent. They provide shuttle service to closer vineyards which is nice to have.

Definitely return for longer stay and would have no hesitation in recommending
Pros:

The staff were really friendly and ultra helpful …all guests we spoke to were very happy with hotel and enjoying their stay - breakfast was lovely and service excellent

Cons:

It’s a shame the pool is not heated😳
I love to swim and would have used the pool except it was very cold

Pool area zu wenig Plätze für so ein großes Hotel .. kein Platz zum entspannen … allgemein keine Entspannung Area …
Die gebuchte Masage war nicht gut . Die Therapeutin war oberflächlich .
Spa Abfertigung !

Rezeption Anfrage gestellt und keine Antwort erhalten , obwohl es geheißen hat : wir erkundigen uns - es ginge um Wander Wege / Rad Wege .
