Everything
Good buffet breakfast with a vast array of hot and cold options.
Free shuttle bus into and collection from town was essential - not walkable in 32 degrees
NIce outdoor pool area with bar and plenty of loungers - water in the hot tub was incredibly hot
Backdrop of sheer mountains so close to the hotel - stunning - bungalows set un well tended gardens
Trivial, but would have preferred chocolates for a bedtime treat rather than the ultra sweet fruity things we regularly received.
Breakfast was good but not wow. Room was very spacious with beautiful view of the mountains. Stunning property but just needs to pay attention on cleanliness in some areas. Bathroom had funny smell coming out of the shower drain.
Shuttle service is excellent. They provide shuttle service to closer vineyards which is nice to have.
The staff were really friendly and ultra helpful …all guests we spoke to were very happy with hotel and enjoying their stay - breakfast was lovely and service excellent
It’s a shame the pool is not heated😳
I love to swim and would have used the pool except it was very cold
Beautiful location. Nice to have good coffee in the room. Hotel shuttle service to town and other vineyards near by is great.
Hotel is a bit old and some areas need painting and
Refurbishing.
Lovely garden and huge long pool
Breakfast excellent
Shower not great but plenty of hot water
Great location. Lovely pool area. Beautiful establishment.
Not much on the baked items at breakfast. After a few days it feels like the same thing.
Location and views are great
Property is looking a little outdated, could use some upgrades
Evacuated from Chamonix Wine Farm on 11 January 2026 due to nearby fires, leaving approximately 30 minutes before the house was later destroyed.
Arrived at Le Franschhoek Hotel around 05:00am seeking safety and left again around 09:00am the same morning.
Unit condition was disappointing: unmade beds from previous guests, rubbish left behind, no hot water, limited electricity, and no towels provided initially.
Full accommodation was charged. Since 12 January 2026 I have been trying to obtain a proper invoice and the promised refund needed for insurance purposes. Over a month later this remains unresolved.
Sharing this experience so future guests can make informed decisions.
A lovely spot, fantastic food with friendly staff. A few basic amenities missing for a 4 star facility
We stayed here 3 nights. The hotel looks good - inkeeping with old houses in the area. A good shuttle service operated to get you get into town. Check in efficient and friendly. Nice pool.
Silly little details spoilt impression - our towels were taken and not replaced, no bin in the bedroom, coffee machine broken.
Breakfast was excellent
What should have been a relaxing, special stay turned into an extremely disappointing experience exacerbated by poor hotel management and communication.
We were evacuated because of the recent fires. However, the warning signs were present throughout the day — very heavy smoke, very obvious active fire, firefighting helicopters constantly overhead, water sprayed over the thatched roof. It felt inevitable the situation would escalate. This created anxiety and discomfort. Guests should have been informed about the fire risk and potential inconvenience plus health risk from very heavy smoke, prior to making costly and lengthy travel arrangements. We were sent out into the night, in the dark, during an active fire situation, without meaningful assistance.
To add to the frustration, we were told that only one of our two nights would be refunded even though we did not stay there at all. More than a month later, that refund has still not been processed. A formal complaint submitted to Dream Resorts has also gone unanswered simply forwarded to the hotel.
Overall, the lack of communication, poor crisis management, and failure to swiftly resolve the matter afterward have been disappointing.
Lovely hotel and great staff
Room was exactly what we wanted and while a little out of the town was just a few minutes drive.
We had a great so experience also
Gorgeous setting..
Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of options including fresh fruit, cereals and pastries, and a whole honeycomb
We only had dinner there once. It wasn't great and was expensive. Better to go into Franschhoek itself where there are many excellent eateries
