I didn’t like that there was not a microwave in the room.
The food at the hotel restaurant was not good.
My dinner at the hotel restaurant was awful. I didn't think it was a complicated dish - grilled steak, mashed potatoes, and collard greens. Oh my - I could not eat it. The potatoes and greens were essentially some strange form of mush, and the thin steak was tough and dry.
I have stayed at this hotel for many years on a regular basis. Both Gabby and Kerry at the concierge lounge are wonderful. They make the customers feel welcome and they know people by their names. They usually get the food ready early. And they are friendly and professional and they make the lounge looking clean and nice at all time. The food at the concierge lounge are always fresh and tasty. I also like the restaurant staffs, Vivian is always there to greet me on the weekends and get the stuffs I need for me. The cooks there always cook the eggs to my satisfaction on the weekends. The doormen, front desk people at this hotel are also wonderful, it is just such a treat for me to go back to a super nice and friendly hotel after a day of a long work. Highly recommended this hire to anyone who is traveling to Virginia!!

Check in was smooth, and the staff went above and beyond with genuine courtesy, professionalism, and attentiveness from the moment I arrived. Their hospitality set a great tone for my stay, and I truly appreciated the exceptional service.
A weekend experience that wouldn't have been as memorable without the exceptional staff at this location. thank you to Mr. Waymon at guest relations for making our second night stay more enjoyable than our first night. Also, thank you to Ms. Neka at the restaurant for all her infectious positivity. Every single table she served had a smile on their face. We enjoyed a simple breakfast but it was served it with extra joy and laughter. We celebrated a his and hers birthday weekend during valentine's day weekend that could have been spent anywhere but glad we spent it here! Also, get the fountain view with your stay. Worth it! Reading other reviews, traveling from garage to hotel lobby is unusual but all elevators worked. Check in first to get your parking pass to reduce amount of trips. We had no other issues otherwise.
Vivienne and Neka were amazing hostess and waitresses. They were well versed in the menu and made us feel right at home. They were exceptionally kind while we were dealing with a loved one in the hospital.
Parking garage elevator not working. My husband is disabled and besides the unavailability of disable spaces, we had to park on the second floor and the elevator did not work. Extremely aggravating.
Parking inconveniences. Perhaps electric car charge spots could be moved to the second floor to make room for handicapped parking.

I had a phenomenal check-in experience with Kaleb at the Newport News Marriott at City Center. Kaleb was extremely helpful, personable and welcoming. We arrived before our check-in time and Kaleb was able to get us in a room very quickly. He provided a thorough overview of the property to ensure my friend and I have a great stay. I would highly recommend this property and Kaleb’s excellent customer service. 10/10
I paid for the room days before and they charged my boyfriend is never got my money back. Hallway smelled of smoke

I loved staying here. Greeted at door by a wonderful crew, Damone, Taylor and Anton, they were so friendly and helpful. Waymon super helpful got me extra sets of towels! Nancy and Felicia are gems.
