Bartenders Nancy and Felicia were great! Great service and conversation! Really good drinks!
The worst experience ever! Don’t expect an apology or any form of acknowledgment when staying at this hotel. Rooms 634 and 734 are completely disgusting. Water is leaking through the walls. There’s mold in the bathroom along with broken tile. Concerns were raised to management back in June. As of July 6th Room 634 is still out of service. Hotel management refuses to call and apologize for the stay. The front office manager told me that they have been very busy. They weren’t too busy to take the room out of service but too busy to show Accountability. The floor was soaking wet along with all belongings during the stay. This information was given to the hotel back in June during the initial stay. No phone call or follow up from Newport News, Marriott, or corporate regarding this matter. Over $1000 was spent for this stay. No Corrective action to make this right with your customer has been made. Do better! When traveling for Work, no one wants to stay in a filthy disgusting room! Taking accountability and calling your customer would be the first step!!
I like the staff very friendly
I couldn’t find the check out times. The dining room did not answer. Elevator in parking garage not working. Not able to upgrade.
Loved the convenience, location, staff and the comfort. Pretty clean, smelled great, everyone treated us wonderfully. When we told them a light bulb was missing in the bathroom they quickly fixed it.
It was a long walk from the parking garage to the hotel elevators, shower head that goes from hard to harder, Ketchup bottle had black mold in the top, just little things.
Nothing.
Rooms small, flies flying around all of the food. Private event cut off access to general public. Parking garage elevators broken in 100+ degree weather.
The breakfast is awesome!
The property is old.
The location.
I am awaiting a follow up from the manager as he was not available when I checked out.
My room was bad. The elevator had a bad smell. There were kids running up and down the hall, smoking and being loud. My bathroom was old, had rust stains in tub, over the door, cracks on the ceilings and no shower gel or shampoo. I tried calling downstairs but no answer. The shower curtain had stains or perhaps mildew. I am disgusted. I shared this with the lady that checked me in. She was also there when I checked out. She said she would speak to a manager about this and they would be in touch about a proper compensation. I paid almost $400 for this room. It is definitely not worth it. She also acknowledged that she heard the complaints about my floor and cited the hotel needs renovation. There were police officers attending to concerns when we arrived and they were still there for a few hours it seems. I am a Bonvoy member and have never experienced this before. I could have booked elsewhere but wanted to support Marriott. This hotel experience was horrific. I am appalled. To add to this, we attempted to look out the window but there was a brown substance all over the curtains. Why wouldn't management do a walk through with house keeping to ensure the floors abd rooms are up to par?
The staff, and the breakfast buffet.
One of the headboards in my room was dirty.
We love staying at the Marriott City Center Newport News VA.
We meet our friends at the Bar where we eat and have drinks our favorite Bar Tenders are Felicia and Nancy provide the best service; we try to get the room that overlook the fountain. The ambiance is so relaxing. Great restaurants and shopping.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Green
Kaleb was phenomenal at the front desk. Extremely helpful and outgoing!
They charge my credit card two times. It took 3 days for me to get my money back.
Amazing stay for three nights for a family wedding the front desk staff to the management and doormen all kind and professional…Nancy and Felicia were amazing each time we had breakfast Robert the cook and Jaheme the busser were also wonderful.Great Buffett breakfast each day The ladies who tended to the Bar …Vivian and Neka treated us like gold. We would return to this hotel again and again . Highly recommend.
Everything
Location. Great city town the fountain were beautiful staff Amazing breakfast great!
Loved it all
Nothing
This hotel needs a serious cleaning and update. The furniture in the room was old and and marred with nicks and scrapes. No real closet - an old armoire. There was n ironing board out leaning against the wall. I’m sure it wouldn’t fit in the small armoire. Refrigerator did not work! Rug was not very clean and needed vacuuming. Very poor and dingy lighting. Tub was a death trap! Grab bar in awkward spot. Tub bottom quite slippery! Faucet handles ere loose. We could not find a working ice dispenser on any floor. The location is great. Right outside the hotel very pleasant area. We were staying there to attend our granddaughter’s graduation from Christopher Newport University. I will never stay in this hotel again .. definitely. I thought Marriott was better than this. Very bad!
