The spa was excellent and therapists pleasant and professional.
The swimming pool, gym and sauna etc were very good, clean, spacious and with a clever use of natural light.
The reception staff were very helpful as were the night porters.
Room security was very good with the use of swipe cards.
It was also good that residents of the hotel were able to join in heath club classes if they were not full for no extra charge.
The bed and room were very comfortable.
Service at breakfast was, on one of the 2 occasions ,poor. The vegetarian sausages were not as described on the menu. On both days we had breakfast at the golf club we had to ask for condiments, spoons and sugar for the drinks. The staff seemed to be undertrained and on some instances bordered on disinterested but never directly unpleasant.
The evening service in the restaurant was slow with no checkback (as was the case at breakfast). One dessert was forgotten and due to the delay we cancelled that order. The ceiling drapes were ragged, hanging loose and uneven and seemed to have several dead flies trapped in them.
All these points are easily remedied and did not have an overall negative impact on our stay.
When booking the room it was not clear that it was an inward facing room with no balcony and no window that we could open. The blind had to be down at all times for privacy as it looked out onto the atrium.
We are well acquainted with the standards expected in a hotel of this caliber as we are ourselves involved in the hospitality industry. The above mentioned points indicate areas we believe could be improved on.
There was no information about the restaurant on the website. Normally I like to check the menus before I book a hotel.
Also no drinks fridge in the room - during such a hot summer this is essential.
Excellent location, setting and facilities.
I booked a lodge for my partners birthday which was wonderful. Just the two of us, the bed was huge and so comfy and we slept well. Spa and pool was fab and the young lady lifeguard was super smiley and happy on duty on Saturday afternoon. The reception staff were also very happy.
The only let down was my food came out missing some of the items, but once I had asked a waiter, (who said its because of the wedding here we had run out of some food), a chef then made some alternatives sides which were okayish.
No opening windows no possibility of fresh air windows overlooked other bedrooms so room had to be in darkness 24hrs senseless piped music playing 24hrs

The food was very sub-par and we hadn’t received our salad or wrap after waiting for over an hour, when we questioned the agency chef, he hadn’t even started so we got a refund. I’m still waiting for the hotel to contact me regarding this complaint I raised.

Did not get room sold on this site. Couldn’t change it. This was blamed on Booking.com. We were promised a refund because the room was very disappointing but we haven’t received anything. Overall we were badly missold and the blame was shifted to your service.

The food was terrible & it was the worst experience in a longtime. After a 5hr drive we just wanted something to eat and drink then bed.. we got something totally different after ordering a lasagne an hour later we was told there was no lasagna on the menu, I then ordered chilli beef to then be told that wasn’t on the menu either along with several other main meals. We ended up with sweet chilli halloumi wrap and cheeseburger they were both terrible and cold. The bar staff poured a pint of Guinness into a wet glass that had just been washed. It was total chaos within the bar with at least a handful of people complaining about their food either being terrible or not being delivered. we chose this hotel due to the location and the lovely pictures on the website which we have saved our money and travelled through the night to our next destination.
