Lovely and clean always kept tidy and the staff are always friendly
Pool and surrounding area.It was peaceful with views across the Ironbridge gorge.
The room was spotless and well decorated, however, it was obvious on initial entry to the room that there was a distinct smell, possibly of the previous occupant using cannabis.
The male receptionist called shaune was very helpful kind and loved dogs very much and looked after people with a smile 😃 always.
The breakfast is not worth the money really unless you get there super early maybe but we don't want to get up early when on a break away . The odd reception that work there could be more welcoming and carpet areas needed a gd clean maybe worn! And catered more for the golfers and office professionals then people visiting from afar etc.
Clean, tidy, good facilities and really helpful staff.
Lovely views, I imagine if you play golf, it’s also a good place to stay. The spa also seemed ok. Reception staff also lovely.
1. Tiny rooms. Really small, like city centre hotel rooms.
2. Restaurant staff borderline incompetent.
3. Way too expensive for what it is.
4. Think Harvester Pub vibes but at Hilton prices.
5. Food mediocre (all meals)
We decided to check out a day early, we just came home. Receptionist didn’t seem surprised/ask why we were leaving early. I guess it happens a lot…
We did start to find it funny at some point though. Perhaps funniest moment was the (useless) restaurant manager plonking down a bottle of white wine (unopened) in the middle of the table and clearing off without a word.
It’s fine, it’s a typical ‘meh’ English hotel, they’ve got the reputation they have for a reason. But the prices don’t justify the mediocre offering.
Lovely dinner and my girls both enjoyed their food very much.
I personally like a breakfast cooked for me so that I can specify, bacon well cooked, eggs cooked both sides.... but understand that this is not possible when very busy.
At our second brakfast both coffee mahines were not working.
My daughter is a coeliac and there was only one possible dessert that she could have (luckily she loved it and had it twice), it would have been nice for more GF options.
I was disappointed that there were no twin bedded rooms that my daughters could use - even if a bit away (I did ask on booking), My youngest daughter ended up sleeping on the floor for the first night and my eldest sleeping with me for the second to allow my youngest to be able to sleep for a night.
I booked this ahead of another option, solely because it had a gym
First room had no air conditioning, broken, and was unbearably hot, second room had air conditioning but not working effectively.
It felt like the room change was a down grade - nothing superior about it.
Location
Breakfast
Lack of functioning air conditioning on 3 very hot days…only worked
once after attention from engineer, for half a dsy
Telling me it was only 3 steps when I had to mount about 20 steps with a heavy suitcase by myself
When I asked for help on leaving my room, staff too so long to appear I d managed myself!
No bar service during England match …found out next day that there was another bar hosting the event
The location was lovely
For the price I would have expected a smart tv and more modern walk in shower
Nobody showed me to the room or offered to help with baggage
Staff were absolutely amazing, courteous and attentive. Room was ok.
The bathroom was a little tired. The shower head wouldn't stay in place, and the shower door didn't shut, leaving the floor soaked and slippery (water everywhere).
Restaurant food was overpriced.
The leisure spa, cleaning and reception staff couldn't fault them. The views sitting in the outside areas.
The room was dirty and extreamly tired, on opening the wardrobe the handle swung to the side hitting my child in the head( sliding wardrobe doors bottom screw wasn't attached to the handle. Bathroom mouldy. Food at lounge bar came covered in black bits from cooking in dirty oil. After mentioning it to bar staff no apology just took my plates and ran.
Changed rooms for night, 2 room was better, unfortunately other guest were smoking hash and the corridor was lifting with the smell. Walking my child though wasn't pleasant. The rest of staff miserable and unwelcoming especially in the restraint breakfast and evening
Food and hotel awesome
