Location is great. Close to the strip. Nearest shops are a few feet away from the hotel. Most things are walking distance except the beautiful Nissi beach. About 10min by vehicle. Very stunning beach. Rooms are clean. Fridge wasn't working. Very hot inside. Housekeeping should be checking this on the daily cleaning and then reporting it as a repair NOT ME since it wasn't working before i even checked in. Unacceptable!! Its not my job to report this. Also they don't give robes and slippers. Standard bathroom nothing special regardless of online photos. Bath tap water is slow. Shower is fast.
Pool area is pretty to look at and bar area and staff are really friendly and pleasant.
Pool has rules regarding pool toys. Very silly!!
They have a pool table and some stuff for kids but it's by the entrance of the hotel which in my opion isn't safe since there's no gate.
You never know who can just walk in.
There is an iron room.
Food options are ok. Had a lot of selections but I wish they had GLUTEN FREE option out to the side just like all the other food. Why do i need to ask. The options should be available in full view like everything else or to one side.
No Gluten free bread
Gluten free pasta
Gluten free cakes or pastries. They should be there not for people to be stressing to ask. There was no Gluten free stuff available.
The pizza for kids wasn't great. After the 3rd day the food was repetitive. They had food themes nights but it made no difference. Nothing exciting.
Aiya Napa itself is so beautiful and everything around the hotel is worth going but I wouldn't stay here again.
The receptionist staff look so grumpy. Dinner staff and bar staff are amazing! Karaoke and bingo night were great fun. Its an ok hotel but would not stay again
The pool
We stayed at Nestor Hotel in Ayia Napa from 20/07 to 24/07 as a family of six (two adults and four children aged 18, 18, 16, and 8).
I normally do not write negative reviews, but our experience was so disappointing that I feel other travelers should be aware of it. I will describe the events in the order they happened so readers can understand why this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have had.
I also believe Booking.com should carefully review how this property maintains such a high rating, because our experience was completely inconsistent with the score displayed.
1. Room Allocation
We booked two rooms several months in advance. Despite this, the hotel assigned our family to rooms on different floors.
When we explained at check-in that we were traveling together and asked to be placed at least on the same floor, the staff made no meaningful effort to accommodate our request. While not the biggest issue of our stay, it was a disappointing way to begin our vacation.
2. Charging for Drinking Water
At dinner we discovered that drinking water is not provided free of charge. There was no water station, water dispenser, or complimentary tap water available in the dining area. Every glass of water had to be purchased separately.
For a hotel of this category, especially one offering half-board and full-board packages, this policy felt unnecessarily restrictive and disappointing.
3. Sewage Odor in the Room
Our first night was when the real problems began.
A strong sewage odor started coming from the air-conditioning unit. The smell was so unpleasant that it woke me up during the night.
The following morning we immediately reported the issue to reception. We were told that no alternative room was available until the next day, meaning we had no choice but to continue staying in a room with an intermittent sewage smell.
This is not a minor inconvenience. Guests should never be expected to sleep in a room with what appears to be a sewage or drainage problem....
Exceptional stay, highly recommend thanks to Oana and Razvan!"We had a wonderful vacation at Nestor Hotel! Everything was great, from the clean rooms to the tasty food, but what truly made our stay memorable was the outstanding service. We want to give a special thanks to Oana and Razvan from the restaurant ! They were incredibly welcoming, professional, and always went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a pleasure to meet such hardworking, polite, and genuinely kind people. They are a true asset to this hotel. We will definitely return!
We stayed at Nestor Hotel in Ayia Napa in July 2026. Our experience was mixed and began in a very disappointing way.
At check-in, we were given a room outside the main hotel building with no elevator access. Reaching it required leaving the hotel and carrying three heavy suitcases down and up several flights of stairs, without any assistance from the staff. Some members of our group have physical difficulties, so the room was unsuitable. Although we had booked in advance, we were told that all rooms in our reserved category were occupied. We had to stay there for the first night and move only the following day. The third bed was also an uncomfortable folding metal bed, which did not meet our expectations of a four-star hotel.
Around two weeks before arrival, I informed the hotel that some of us are vegan. I was told that no advance arrangements were necessary and that we only needed to notify reception. However, the restaurant was not prepared for us on the first morning. Stella was extremely kind and did everything she could to help, but another manager was rude and made us feel as though we were asking for too much, even though breakfast was included in our booking. Later, the restaurant manager asked us for a list of vegan food options, and the situation improved.
Regarding the breakfast selection, we felt there was a lack of variety in vegetables and salads, which was disappointing, especially as these are basic food items.
We also reported a problem with the sink. Daniel from maintenance fixed it quickly, but after asking where we were from, he made an offensive and racist remark that made us feel extremely uncomfortable.
On the positive side, the hotel has a large and beautiful swimming pool, an excellent view, and an overall peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. There were also performances and entertainment every evening, which created an enjoyable atmosphere.
Our stay improved after we were moved to a more suitable room and received additional vegan options. Overall, the hotel is pleasant and has many good qualities, but improvements are needed in internal communication, room allocation, accessibility and respectful treatment of all guests.
I usually don’t write reviews for hotels I stay in but I had to this time. Genuinely one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had in my life. The hotel staff was some of the most welcoming and nicest people I’ve met, they were always ready to help, smiling and genuinely incredibly sweet and inviting. Any questions I had they were ready to answer in no time (even by email before the stay). The hotel is in the heart of ayia Napa so it’s close to quite literally anything and at the same time it’s in placed in a quiet place so u can comfortably sleep at night without having to worry about noise. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and clean, I stayed at the cheapest room I could find and it was really comfortable and large. The swimming pool is hugeee and there’s always available sunbeds even in peak hours. We stayed for 4 days and every time we wanted to lounge by the pool we rented the luxury sunbeds which cost 20 euros for 2 people, and the sunbeds are available for the entire day (so u can leave and go to the beach and then come back and the sunbeds are still yours), and they come with complementary ice cream (1 per person), fruit salad in a cup (fairly large and also 1 pp), cold refreshing towels and a large water bottle, so I personally think it’s really worth the money. The bar prices are also fairly low so that’s also great. They also had a lot of activities— u can play pool, there’s a soccer or volleyball field (sorry I’m not that into sports), a playground for kids, I think u could also play tennis). While we were lounging by the pool there was staff who came by to ask if we wanted to play volleyball (and some people were actually playing), and in the evening they had music quizzes, bingo, some music shows and so on, so u were never bored.
Nothing
אהבתי את המיקום של המלון קרוב כמעט להכל במרחק הליכה
השירותיות שלהם טעונת שיפור.
ארוחת בוקר פחות לטעמנו
This was our 3rd visit to Nestor and you worry sometimes that things will deteriorate. No need to worry!
Lets start with the rooms, cleaned daily to an excellent standard and plenty spacious for the two of us with decent enough amenities.
The food excellent, we went for 10 nights and can safely say other than the omelettes for breakfast (because they were so good!) never ate the same thing twice!
The staff are first class, from Kristine around the pool, to the bar staff to the waiting staff in the restaurant they all cant do enough to help and make it a good experience. To the point where after 3 visits now they feel like friends. The entertainment team of Billy and Ellie dont force you to join in activities but also make sure you dont miss out!
Location wise its well placed, the sea front is 5 mins walk, the busy nightlife is 10 mins walk if you want it but it remains quiet enough at night that you can sleep no issues!
All in all it was so good trip number 4 is booked for next year.
My friend and I have just got back from a 9 night stay at the Nestor Hotel and had such a lovely holiday. The hotel itself was great, with really good facilities and everything we needed, but the one thing that stood out more than anything was Christina, the lifeguard. From the very first day, Christina went out of her way to make us feel so welcome. She would come over to chat with us every day, recommend places to visit, check we were enjoying our stay, and even offer to bring us drinks from the bar. She was always so friendly, genuine and approachable, and she made us feel like friends rather than just guests staying at the hotel. We looked forward to going to the pool every day because we knew we’d get to see her. She completely changed our experience and made our holiday so much more enjoyable. It’s people like Christina who make guests want to come back, and she’s an absolute credit to the hotel. Thank you again, Christina, for making our holiday so special. We had an amazing time, and you were a huge part of the reason why!
We’ve recently got back from our 3rd visit to the Nestor Hotel. There is a reason why it’s our 3rd visit because we cannot recommend this hotel enough. Everything about it is exceptional, from the rooms, cleanliness, hotel staff and location. But what brings us back each time is most definitely Billy, Ellie and Helen. As the entertainment, they never fail to ensure both days and nights are fun and entertaining. We love the activities in the day and the evening entertainment is even better. Billy’s Elvis night is absolutely amazing (especially is arrival on his motorbike!) and it the best night of our stay. Again we couldn’t recommend it enough, so much that we’re returning again in September, and can’t wait to see Billy and the team again.
From Nestor Hotel regulars Lee & Louisa
This was our second year at this hotel. It is tops at everything. Rooms, food, staff, cleanliness and in particular the entertainment by the fabulous Billy, Helen and the gawjus Ellie. They make our stay so special that we just have to return. See you all next June ♥️
We have visited Cyprus many times over the years and stayed at numerous resorts across the island, so we have a good understanding of the standards typically offered. This was a one‑week stay chosen specifically for a family member’s special birthday, so we expected a smooth and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, Nestor Hotel in Ayia Napa did not live up to its advertised 4‑star rating.
While the reception area, pool and public spaces are modern and well‑kept, the rooms on one side of the building — specifically 119, 120, 219 and 220 — were extremely disappointing. Our initial rooms (119 and 120) were sold to us as “superior” rooms, but they were nowhere near superior. They were dark, poorly maintained, had unfinished paintwork, cleanliness issues, and overlooked balconies with no view at all.
After complaining, we were moved to 219 and 220, but these rooms were just as bad and again did not resemble anything close to a superior or 4‑star standard. Following a meeting with management, we requested rooms that genuinely reflected the hotel’s advertised rating. We were then moved to side sea‑view rooms on the second floor. These were an improvement and more appropriate, but still lacked the quality expected from a 4‑star hotel, especially considering the price paid.
On the positive side, the beds were comfortable, the food was okay, and the waitering staff were very pleasant and helpful. The cleaners were also excellent — they came every day and provided fresh towels, which we appreciated. The location is excellent too. However, the repeated room issues and the overall lack of 4‑star quality meant the stay wasn’t what we expected, and I wouldn’t return — certainly not at this price
This was our 4th stay at the Nestor and again, it didn’t disappoint. We travelled as two couples, we had told our friends about how good the Nestor was and how fabulous the staff are. The first thing that always strikes me about the hotel is how spotlessly clean it is, in and out. Check in was quick and easy, we had a slight issue with the room door handle that was dealt with without any fuss. Waking up the next morning, we went down to the pool area to be greeted by Christina, the lifeguard. She is the most wonderful person, fantastic with the guests and she runs a tight ship around the pool, making sure everyone was comfortable, safe and ensuring people were adhering to the pool rules.
The food was plentiful and fresh. The chef and staff were aware of our friend’s gluten free needs and were there every meal to make sure she was catered for. The staff at the pool bar are also great, Mira, Tattiana and Barbara always have a smile on their face and are always helpful. The staff in the restaurant especially Lliliana, Oana and Viletta are always a delight to see and speak to.
We were glad to see that Billie and Ellie were still doing the activities and entertainment again. They are both full of fun and do a great job. Billie’s Elvis night is very entertaining, however he’s been told he can’t use his motorbike for his grand entrance anymore. This is very disappointing as it set his performance off to a good start. I hope this decision is reversed as it’s not the same with his motorbike. The guests love the spectacle and like having their photo taken with Bille and the motorbike.
Most of the other acts are good, but not sure about a couple of them. There is plenty to do near the hotel so we went out if the acts weren’t to our taste.
The only downside was very large groups of students. Apparently this is common in June as it’s a mid summer celebration in certain countries. We had to complain about the noise, again this was dealt with quickly.
Finally, I would suggest that you should ignore the negative reviews as they seem like they written by people who didn’t respect the rules and standards of the hotel. The staff in the hotel are so attentive and friendly and this is one of the main reasons we keep coming back to the Nestor.
