The location was perfect close to the city also close to the beach. The hotel was fantastic,we ate lots of times there for dinner.Never disappointed, enjoyed the breakfast as well.Nice selection of food and drinks.
The noise on the corridor was quite loud.
the hotel should invest proper doors for the rooms.
The pool and breakfast room
A little bit far out

A wonderful hotel with a beautiful view and a convenient location. The room was clean and cozy. The staff are friendly and always ready to help with any questions.
Many thanks to the entire team — it really makes us want to come back again!
However, the overall impression was slightly affected by the towels and bed linen, which were clean but quite old and gray rather than white.
The room was located close to the road, and at night the noise from cars and motorcycles was disturbing. I wasn’t aware of this drawback beforehand. Next time, I will take this into account when booking.

Die Lage und die Ausstattung des Hotels sind traumhaft
My wife and I have just recently returned from a 3 week holiday at the Bahia Azul. On arrival when we checked in to our room we noticed that the a/c was at 18 degrees and with the fan on it was blowing warm air. We both like to sleep in a cool room. At reception we were told that the air conditioning is switched off during winter months. There is no mention of this on the hotel / Jet2 website. We paid for an upgraded sea view room as in a standard Mountain View room in previous reviews said that you could hear road noise. We ended up with the balcony door wide open with the curtain closed hopping to keep the insects out and trying to keep cool which it did but we could still hear the road noise of scooters, motorcycles and cars reviving their engines which disturbed our sleep.
The hotel is very good. Kept spotless clean and excellent room cleaning. Good hot food with hot plates. All staff are very pleasant and friendly. Evening entertainment is so so but the bar prices are very expensive. We noticed that many guests just had the one drink and left. With 300-400 guests in the hotel the average guests in lounge for the entertainment was between 15-20. I am sure that if the bar prices were a bit more competitive more guests would stay longer in the lounge.
Would we return? Don’t think so as the main reason for our holiday was to take in the Christmas lights and activities in Funchal.
Finally we spoke to other hotels in the area who said that they kept the air conditioning on and let their guests decide on what temperature is comfortable for them. Why couldn’t Baia Azul do the same?
