Property Description

The Wateredge Inn and Windermere Rooms in Ambleside offer one of the most iconic lakeside locations on Lake Windermere. Set right on the shoreline, this welcoming Lake District pub with rooms combines lake views, all-day home-cooked food and comfortable, dog-friendly accommodation, with a waterfront terrace and on-site parking.

Important information:

If guests smoke in the bedrooms, the hotel may charge the cost of up to one night's accommodation.

The hotel kindly requests guests to contact the property directly if they would like to check in with children.

It may not be possible to accommodate guests in the same room for each consecutive night of their stay.

Pet-friendly rooms are limited. A GBP 15 fee per pet per night applies and guests are required to inform the property in advance.

When booking five or more rooms, group terms and conditions are applied to your reservation. A 10% non-refundable deposit is taken at time of booking and full payment and rooming list are required six weeks prior to your arrival. These terms replace any other booking policies agreed with online travel agents.

Comfortable room in a fantastic location
Pros:

The bed was really comfortable, we slept like logs.
Clean modern bathroom with a bath as requested.
A fantastic location right by the lake
Staff were really friendly and helpful

Cons:

Parking was slightly difficult to find. The 5th car park we tried was the correct one!

Comfy hotel ideally situated for exploring the Lakes
Pros:

The location is ideal for exploring the Lakes, and the hotel itself is beautifully located right next to Windermere. I cannot fault the staff, and Rob in particular, who helped look after my wife and daughter in the bar/restaurant while I spent a whole day in the room having suffered food poisoning after eating out in Grasmere.

Cons:

My only small complaint is the lack of blinds or nets in a ground floor room next to the car park. I felt a bit exposed when confined to the room while ill.

The rooms were lovely.

Cons:

Got a complaint about the noise of our tv which really wasn't loud. It was only 9:15 pm. The tv is on the wall so maybe could do with a bit of soundproofing as you go on holiday to enjoy yourself not to have other people moaning .

A lovely place to stay and an amazing location
Pros:

fantastic location, staff were excellent and the food was really nice. Check in was a little busy but we just had a drink outside and soaked up the view until the room was ready.

Some of the eating areas were very poorly lit , making it almost dangerous and difficult to see . The food in the bar was variable - not everyone enjoyed their evening meal .

Lovely
Pros:

Location was picturesque

Cons:

We were on a lovely break with family , when at 21.15 we received a chap at our family members room which we were having a wind down night after a perfect day exploring the area to the astounding news we had a noise complaint
Our television was at level 12
No music was getting played we were only having a family conversation about our day
As you can imagine we were gobsmacked
There was absolutely no justification for this complaint
We were all left with a bitter taste in our mouth about this
