Travelodge by Wyndham Missouri Valley

I did not stay there. I made a reservation and when I got there it was overbooked and I was sent away. I need my charge to be canceled and I don’t get a response.

Many negatives for this stay: 1) Two floors, no elevator
2)Wi-Fi not working 3) Checkin/out located in diner next door (no staff in the hotel overnight) 4)Parking lot full (almost no-one staying at the hotel) 5) I was double charged for the night (took four phone calls to get credited) 6) No grab bars in shower
The place was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

Although we had made a reservation, when we arrived we were told that the king room we reserved was not available. In fact, they had no rooms available at all! They have an agreement with the railroad apparently, and so we were out of luck.

This is the first time in 42 years of traveling we have had an experience like this.

The worst thing was that I then had to call the Wyndam reservation line to tell them to cancel the reservation. That person was polite but did not understand English very well and it took a long time to get through to her that the hotel did not honor the reservation.

I was traveling with my Kids. There was an Ortho bug sprayer outside spraying for something when we arrived. We came through the front door and were met with a strong chlorine smell and dampness in the air. As we walked to your room on the first floor there was a thick dampness in the air and the hotel was running dehumidifiers in the hallways. When we finally got to our room we had a strong Urine and Body Odor smell that only got worse the longer we were there. We couldn't stand the smell and I refused to have my kids stay the night in a damp, smelly, and unclean hotel so we went to a different hotel in the town.

It was fine for what it is, a railroad crews place to stay when they tie up for the day. Everyone was quiet and courteous. The dining place has good food, clean place and a bit of nostalgia to boot. I have stayed in places like this before when I worked for the Railroad. It was very quiet for sleeping. Everyone was respectful in that they all knew there could be people sleeping at all hours.

My service dog Brady and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We were warmly greeted by the staff at Penny's diner next door. The most charming old time diner - ever! Everyone we interacted with at the property from that point forward were amazing. Our room was exactly as it appeared on Booking.com - our AC worked flawlessly, the room was clean and spacious, had lots of drawer space and the fridge and microwave worked like a charm. Both the hot water in the shower and water pressure were abundant. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable! Our other absolute must-have is a working ice machine - and this hotel delivered! We also found the grounds safe at night for walking - which is important when you have a 100+ lb dog! We will definitely stay here again - Until next time! Thanks again!

Elderly people should be given a room on the first floor. My 74 year old husband fell down the flight of stairs leaving the building. Rome were clean but musty and carpet needed cleaning very badly. I didn’t like not having a menu at the diner and not having a front desk in hotel

Clean and comfortable, but definitely needs work. Was surprised to see that there were no coffee makers in the room. The desk clerk told me they took them out because they were being stolen. The door locks are very tempermental, but I was told they are being replaced. I understand that it is in the process of being updated, so hopefully will be better. Much too pricey for the condition of the place.

Comfortable room, spacious with a good king bed. Pennys Diner was next door. Hotel reception is run from the Diner. Food was good. Price of room seemed a little high for the amenities. No elevator but security was good due to only interior access.

No coffee maker in room. No extra blankets or pillows.

Clean, comfortable, and nice staff. I asked for an extra blanket, and got it right away with a smile.
We were in a handicap excess able room, it was very clean with a walk in/roll in shower that looked clean. It also has a fold down bench if needed, and a removable shower head.
We just had a quick overnight with 2 kids, we had breakfast at the Penny's Dinner too - very yummy!
