I’d say the hotel resembled Faulty Towers. But no. Faulty Towers is a Palace compèred to this DUMP
Pros:

Staff = no help whatsoever. It was obvious they didn’t want to be there.

Cons:

Poor staff. Poor scruffy property from walking in to walking out.
Put in a room that was on the side of the property. On the fist floor. Above a bar with live music all the doors open that closed about 3am. Then the customers sat outside singing for 20 mins. Followed by telling each other how much they loved each other. Couldn’t even shut the window because it was about 100 degrees plus. With no aircon. For this privelsgr we paid £285 per night per room.

Location great but the rest was pretty poor.
Pros:

Location.

Cons:

Room dated, not enough towels, room not made up properly, no coffee, only tea with kettle, breakfast very average, no atmosphere in hotel.

So bad, it should be condemned!
Pros:

Nothing at all, it was disgraceful!

Cons:

Everything, it was awful and unbelievably bad.
With music outside from a rock club, a nightclub and another music bar outside our window till 4:30am.
Bathroom unusable almost.

Diabolical. Avoid at all costs.
Pros:

Terrible experience. I would not stay here again at any cost. The floor I was on stunk of cannabis. That says it all.

Cons:

Cleanliness was a disgrace. The settees had two cushions & underneath them must never have been cleaned.

A hugely expensive disappointment!
Pros:

Good loc, bed comfortable and water hot.

Cons:

A pokey room that was described as deluxe poor lighting cheap looking furniture a building that had seen better days.some fixtures hadn’t been fitted e.g. a guard to the shower glass to prevent spillage.
£314 and it didn’t include breakfast very poor value for money and when questioned- not just by me but others- I got a shrug of the shoulders and the explanation that it was because of the golf! Many Americans staying who were disappointed and will view British hospitality as a rip off!

We came for The Open golf. We didn’t spend time at the hotel but anytime was uncomfortable, restless
Pros:

Room and rest of hotel desperately need updating.

Staff try their best but when so much doesn’t work as it should it’s hard to create a good visit.

Cons:

It was a hot week the room was like a sauna. We did get provided with a fan but that didn’t help much. Curtains didn’t cover windows, room was noisy, bathroom was so uncomfortable as room got afternoon sunshine and with no curtains became unbearably hot. Shower failed. Hot water ‘exploded’ out of tap. Don’t understand why but each day towels were changed but leaving us a single large bath towel when we were a couple in room. Room didn’t smell at all fresh.

Stayed in the hotel one night as I and my colleagues went to watch the golf at Royal Birkdale. The hotel is very budget
Pros:

It’s a great location and it had parking though it was very tight and first come first serve.

Cons:

No air conditioning and the windows were bolted shut making the rooms far too hot to sleep in. The breakfast was OK although the staff overseeing breakfast was very standoffish not clearing tables making the breakfast room look a mess.

Wouldn’t stay in here even if I was homeless
Pros:

Nothing really… dated rooms, and right next to what I can only call a nightclub as music blaring out all night

Cons:

dated rooms and right next to what I can only call a nightclub as music blaring out all night till 4am. £235 for the night. I know the golf’s nearby but that’s a joke. worst hotel I think I’ve ever stayed in

Location was great and the stay was terrible
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Was in disrepair, rooms looked like there was little or no maintenance ever done since they were originally put into service. Housekeeping never made the bed nor changed the sheets. The bedding smelled of mildew (as if the bedding was left in the washer too low before drying. The restaurant’s breakfast was terrible.

Worth £50 but be warned, you won’t sleep.
Pros:

The location was great.

Cons:

The rooms were uncomfortable and dirty. There is a nightclub next door to the hotel which plays until 3am (there is no soundproofing in the windows). Beds are like sleeping on bricks and the room price had been jacked up by 600% because of the golf.

Do not ever stay in this hotel
Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Noise - my room was opposite a nightclub- even with the rubbish windows closed it was so loud I could have been in the club.
Tiny room with furniture very old. Uncomfortable bed, paper thin towels that were removed after 1st night - I had to ask for more a reception.
The price hike due to the nearby golf competition was completely unacceptable.
I have never before been so ripped off.
I expect some compensation and a proper apology
