Hotel Raito

I stayed at the Hotel Raito recently for a week's vacation. It's a beautiful hotel with lovely views overlooking the Gulf of Salerno and the town of Vietri sul Mare. My room was spacious, clean, and quiet (with AC), although it could have benefited from better lighting and a makeup mirror in the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was excellent and very extensive; the restaurant looked out over the water. The hotel staff were invariably nice, accessible, and professional.

I used the small exercise room, which is in a separate part of the hotel, open 7 am-9 pm. It has 4 Technogym bikes (3 recumbent, 1 "regular"--in so-so condition), a treadmill, weight machines, some free weights, etc.

There were a few issues I had with the hotel: First, it's up a long, winding road with no walkways, so going to the town is dependent on the too-infrequent shuttle service or taxis. Second, the hotel doesn't have a small, casual meal option (e.g., in the bar area) between breakfast and dinner, which starts at 7 pm. While my room had a mini refrigerator, I wish it had had a tea/coffee maker. Aside from those issues, I enjoyed my stay.

No way the rooms they offer correspond to a 5-star hotel, they could be 2 / 3 stars, although I think they don't get to that.

They are really horrible, lacking the slightest decoration, old, without any quality element.

The staff is attentive but that does not solve the quality of the building.

The breakfast was good, the food was regular.

Beautiful hotel with exceptional restaurant. The staff were so nice and accomodating of every request we had. The pool with view of Vietri beach is amazing and provides for a calm and relaxing experience with plenty of space to lay in the sun. The best part is the restaurant, if you stay here you must have dinner here as well. The food was delicious and innovative.

Amazing view on Vietri and the Harbour of Salerno! Rooms with a small balcony over the Golfo di Salerno gives spledid sunsets. Team is helpful; if you want to eat at the restaurant go early to catch a table at the window and avoid the chef's signature dieshes - the Spaghetti aglio, olio, peperoncini are much better the traditional way.

The Best place to stay

All the staff were so kind and helpful! They helped us with all of our dinner suggestions and things to do around town! Restaurants on site made dining for lunch and dinner very convenient, and the food was awesome! The pool was magnificent with a bar area and views all day. We will miss this Hotel as it is one of the best hotels we have stayed at.

Absolutely fantastic . Beautiful setting, beautiful hotel, outstanding staff, every single one of them friendly and professional, couldn’t do enough to ensure that our short break was as perfect as it could be.This is the ideal choice for an Amalfi Coast adventure.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful with the ONLY exception of the pizza restaurant down by the pool. Mediocre pizza at best. And not great service there either.

The hotel and surroundings, along with the view, are all beautiful. The only thing I would say that needs improvement is the WIFI….Myself and my colleagues all had issues connecting in the rooms due to very weak signal. All in all, however, this was a very nice stay and I would recommend.

Have to say it was our best hotel we ever stayed! I’m glad we picked this one ! I would like to say massive thanks to one of the staff who works at reception, Rita - she was amazing, so welcoming and helpful.. I wish more people would be like her! Thank you Rita !

Really recommend this hotel, for every reason.. views, staff, food.. etc.

We loved absolutely everything about this hotel: beautiful location, beautiful views, beautiful rooms, beautiful balcony, beautiful pool and beautiful restaurant. Each member of the staff was lovely and simply couldn't do enough for us. We had delicious meals at the restaurant with attentive service from the staff. What I especially appreciated was that to anything I asked, the answer was always "yes." Thank you for a fantastic stay, we will be back!

The views and the cleanliness was top notch. The buffet breakfast had many choices and it was delicious.The free shuttle bus had a schedule and you needed to book it in order to ensure seating. It would take you only to the Piaza in the town center and return to the hotel. The local business owners were very friendly and helpful. You could travel with the city bus by purchasing bus tickets at the local shops/bars. Taxi service from the hotel was minimum 20 Euros. We found that to be very expensive. We travelled from the port to the other islands by ferry. Transfer from this hotel to Naples airport was 160 Euros. Expensive but easier than transfers by city bus/trains. Easier to travel from the Salerno Airport.

Booked a Deluxe Double Room with Terrace and Sea View for a special occasion, expecting a 5-star experience. Unfortunately, it fell far short.

The room is only 21 sqm unlike advertised, dated throughout, especially the cramped bathroom with a shower so small you can’t lean forward and with doors that don’t close. The air con is old and loud; staff advised keeping it on low or turning it off, which is absurd. WiFi is unstable when working.

The room was also advertised to sleep 3, but there’s no space for a third bed unless you’re willing to climb over furniture to reach the bathroom or front door.

Reception staff were hit and miss, and the manager was dismissive of our concerns. We were offered two “upgrades”: one at €200 more per night, or another for free in a dark -3 level room — hardly an upgrade!

Outside the room, the pool and breakfast were excellent, and most staff were great. But dinners were basic at best, yet still cost over €50 for two people without alcohol. Access to the indoor spa pool costs an unadvertised €30 per person, per day.

We came to relax and celebrate a birthday but left frustrated and disappointed. The common areas suggest a 5-star property, but step into the “deluxe” room, and it’s a tired 3-star experience at best. Misleading and upsetting.

We were expecting a 4 or 5 star property and it did not meet expectations. Our shower was small and it was impossible to control the temperature. The toiletries were cheap. And the breakfast was just OK. The pool was beautiful as were the views. The shuttle to Vietri sul Mare was very convenient. We also thought the staff was welcoming and kind.

Gorgeous location, out of the crazy crowds in July. Set high with stunning views. Spend the extra and get a sea view if you can. It’s a typical Italian hotel which is great and relaxing, Views from the pool are fabulous and it’s very chilled. Service and housekeeping is very good and the staff are all helpful and friendly. There is a shuttle provided by the hotel to the town below which has a good selection of restaurants. The hotel will organise pick ups from some restaurants that are further up and all recommendations have been good. Thank you for a great stay!
