Rooms are large, but that’s about the only good thing here. Low quality, very outdated decorations, poor lighting. Staff are friendly but I found them to be incompetent, very poor communication. Also, not cheap
Very expensive for what you get, rooms very small but nice facility in the terrace. Service at the reception very poor. Staff not well trained. They couldn't get me a taxi to go to the airport.
The hotel is run-down — let me give you some examples. The sauna wasn’t working, the iron didn’t work when I tried to press my shirt, and it’s impossible to link the TV with your phone. Worst of all, they pretend not to understand and deliberately avoid adding your Marriott Bonvoy number to the reservation so you don’t get the points — something I’m still chasing!
Great location
Horrible Experience! I’m an Marriott Ambassador and chose this hotel because it was close to the restaurants and meetings in Polanco. When our group arrived close to
Midnight very tired from a long day of travel, we were checked in and never told that the rooms did not have working AC. When we entered our rooms, we were met with floor fans and open windows. When I returned to the reception, I asked the guy why he didn’t mention anything at check in. He gave me a nonsense excuse that he tough out rooms had working AC. When I asked him how long the hotel had been without AC, he said earlier in the week. They never contacted me to tell me this or to provide a solution.
The hotel offered a discount, free cancelation, or rooms at their sister property called Hotel Codesa(Design Hotel). We opted to move to the Codesa since it was close to 1am now. We were promised suites and when we arrived we were checked in and given basic small rooms. This property is OLD and worn out! I’m am shocked that Marriott/Design Hotels allows these hotels to participate and represent their brand.
It’s been 2 weeks and I still have not received credit for my stay but I’m not surprised.
Avoid ALL HABITA properties unless you want to be extremely disappointed!
Great hotel, great location
The hotel stay was excellent. We were warmly greeted and offered good tequila upon check in! The room was “modern” Mexican—firm bed, walk in shower, small balcony which allowed fresh air. The small restaurant/bar on the street level had a nice European breakfast buffet —with an option for hot dishes. We had a light dinner after a full day and it was perfect. I would stay again. Good customer service and location. Thank you to the friendly staff.
great service as usual, staff was above and beyond.
Front desk needs more staff, room assigned had broken AC. Great location.
Truly terrible from the start. Had to leave roof terrace by 8pm on night 1 as there was a birthday party that went on until 1am.
Sunday morning - loud exercise class at 9am waking us up.
Sunday afternoon - couldn’t use pool area because of private event. Total waste of time and money.
Noisy throughout either waking us up or not allowing us to sleep.
Housekeeping claimed to have returned our clothes from washing but they hadn’t. After 2 hours of chasing them, they admitted they still had the clothes and took a further 2 hours to return them making us late for the wedding event we were attending.
Could not relax or enjoy the hotel at all.
Staff unfriendly and rude throughout.
AWFUL HOTEL
Made to feel like very unwelcome during our stay
- 1st night evicted from rooftop as there was a 30th birthday
- 2nd day was a rave party on the rooftop until 1am so we couldn’t sleep
-3rd day on a Sunday all day fitness party, with a personal trainer screaming from 9am all day long.
Charged £70 for laundry on a few shirts
Tried to charge us for breakfast we had included on our package
The noise from the rooftop was way too loud. The hotel rents out the rooftop for private events so non-hotel guests were constantly showing up, and the noise became too much. At around 11 PM, the hotel was kind enough to move me to a lower room. While the rooftop music wasn't as loud, the issue became drunk partiers yelling from the lobby trying to get to the party upstairs...all of which could be heard from the room. As I was trying to switch rooms, the 2 elevators at the lobby had a ton of outside partiers waiting to get to the party upstairs, so I had to take the stairs to switch between my rooms. There were guards stationed outside trying to control the flow of partiers, but for whatever reason, big groups of non-hotel guests were making their way into the lobby and they were very loud. It felt more like a night club then a boutique hotel. Needless to say, there wasn't a lot of quality rest in this hotel.
Additionally, since a private group was renting the terrace, hotel
guests were asked to leave even before the party started. I asked an attendant at the pool for a towel, and she refused because they had to prepare for the party. This was at 4:30 PM and the party was to start at 6. I had been told that the pool would be closed at 5 PM, and figured I could lounge for 30 mins but that wasn't the case. When I asked the front desk about it, they told me that people had paid to use the space. Hotel guests also pay and the hotel even highlights the terrace as a major reason for picking their hotel. The priority, unfortunately, seemed to be the outside guests.
For a hotel that presents itself as one of the top options in the Polanco area, the experience they offered was far from it. I found this hotel to be very disappointing, and would not recommend it at all. There are much better hotels in the area.
Needs remodeling. Rooms look old. Especially the tv
I visited this hotel years ago when it first opened. It was amazing with it's minimalist theme and upmarket feel.
This year having a few days I decided to visit again and it was clear that many things hadn't changed over the years. It strives to be upmarket with a skin that simply hasn't progressed and as such fails to provide anything close to the chic environment it used to provide.
The room was constantly hot and even though the staff tried to get it cool all they could do was provide a loud industrial fan which could not be used at night as it was simply too loud. Although I didn't use the fan I should have had something else to drown out the constant noise that is heard in the hotel. Whether the outside traffic, or people in the lobby, OR walking through the hallways there is always loud noise happening well into the early morning hours.
There are plenty of other hotels available in Mexico City which are extraordinary, I would skip this hotel and find one of the others that you will be much more happy with.
My room 45 is just below the gym and I can hear dumbells fall all day, i checked in early and the staff was kind
The rooms were incredible and very minimalist. The staff is extremely friendly, and welcoming. I stayed for two weeks and didn’t want to leave! The roof is so cozy, the pool is relaxing, and the cocktails and food are delicious!!
The hotel is in a great location and while a little tired is overall pretty nice. The issue however is the lack of noise insulation making it near impossible to sleep while the rooftop is open. The loud music, stomping and yelling of the rooftop patrons was unbearable. This didn’t stop until a little after 1:30am which is normally fine expect for the fact we had an early flight to wake up for and wanted to get more than a couple hours of sleep. The front desk did send up some ear plugs but those weren’t enough to stop the noises. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who isn’t going to want to stay up to 1:30am.
All staff at the hotel were very kind and professional.
The hotel is run-down. Bathroom door was peeling. Lots of new white caulking in the bathroom. The carpet was drab.
When we checked in, we specifically asked for a quiet room. They gave us a room on the 4th floor. The following morning they started constructions at 7:00 a.m. sanding walls on the 5th floor. On Friday night they had a private party on the 6th floor which has a bar. The music and banging from the celling came through our room. At 11:00 a.m. we called and they gave us another room to sleep in. The noise fromt he street and the noise in this hotel was way too much to handle. Do not recommend staying there at all.
