Our stay at Villa Cofresi in Rincón, Puerto Rico turned an unexpected situation into one of the most memorable experiences of our trip—and honestly, one of the best hotel stays we’ve ever had.
We were originally staying at a different 5-star resort and were scheduled to fly out today. Due to a flight cancellation and the resort’s inability to extend our stay, we had to book Villa Cofresi at the very last moment. We are genuinely glad this happened, because it led us to discover a place we will return to again and again.
From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and customer service were exceptional. Gonzalez at the front desk, who is absolutely wonderful, went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for during a stressful and unexpected situation. She took the time to learn that it was my birthday week, and without us expecting anything at all, she surprised me with a thoughtful little gift left in our room. That level of care truly touched our hearts.
To make it even more special, the owner, Sandra Caro, graciously sent a bottle of champagne on behalf of the hotel and staff to celebrate my birthday. This incredibly kind gesture speaks volumes about her leadership and the culture of warmth and generosity she has created at Villa Cofresi.
The villa itself is immaculate—spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and perfectly located. The views are absolutely stunning, the location is fantastic, and every single staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. The atmosphere feels genuine, relaxed, and personal—something that many so-called luxury resorts simply don’t offer.
What truly sets Villa Cofresi apart is how the team goes out of their way to make guests feel special and valued, even when arriving under last-minute circumstances. In many ways, the service here exceeded that of the 5-star resort we were previously staying at.
From now on, Villa Cofresi will be our place to stay whenever we visit Puerto Rico. We will absolutely be coming back and are highly recommending this hotel to our friends and family. Thank you to Gonzalez, Sandra Caro, and the entire Villa Cofresi team for turning an unexpected event—and my birthday week—into such a meaningful and unforgettable experience.

There were 2 couples, we both had a king suite room with the most amazing balcony views. The room was very cold and housekeeping came everyday. We had breakfast and lunch at the hotel restaurant/bar every day as well as drinks there in the evenings (we went out for dinners). They do not open til 8 am, so if you are early risers like us, be prepared to wait til then for coffee. Nothing around the hotel serves coffee prior to 8 am. Everything we tried was delicious and all the staff were so nice. Our husbands were there to surf and drove around the island for that during the day and we stayed back and sun bathed and enjoyed the ocean. The water was the most perfect temperature as well as calm. The hotel seemed VERY low census which was just fine with us. Go over a Thursday so you can walk to downtown Rincon, there is an art walk on Thursdays thats well worth going to. We 100% will be back and plan to stay at Villa Cofresi again.

Villa Cofresí is such a lovely place to stay. The service is very attentive and thoughtful—the manager even sent a bottle of prosecco to our room for our celebration, which was a wonderful surprise.

The hotel is clean, pleasant, and has a warm atmosphere where you always end up having a good time. Definitely recommend!

Great hotel, stay and ambience

Stayed her when I was young, came back after maybe 35 years. Excellent and beautiful facilities.

The view is the beat i have ever seen

We loved our room with a balcony, right on the ocean. The onsite restaurant, pool, and beach access, made for a delightful stay. Just minutes from Rincon, this is a great location for enjoying the charming town and nearby stunning sunsets.
