Do not book a classic room !!! We booked with TUI and were given room 624, I felt like I was in an Alfred Hitchcock movie. I paid 90 Euros for an upgrade to room 105, which was much better, and in the main building. The cocktails at the pool bar are overpriced and not of good quality, we had to ask for our Pina Coladas to be made again!! Overall an average hotel, but only a 10 minute walk into beautiful Sorrento centre, so served its purpose.
We were staying at an apartment with no pool and fancied a pool day. We asked reception if we could pay to use the pool. It was €30 per person, towels included. Aperol spritz are €14 each. The pool service was good, comfy sun loungers and refreshing pool. The reception asked for ID, luckily I had my health card with me that they accepted
Overall the hotel provided a great base for exploring Sorrento and the surrounding Amalfi Coast but there were still some points in need for improvement.
Location: Conveniently situated around a 10 minute walk from the heart of Sorrento alongside various transportaion options including ferry, train and bus to access popular sites like Pompeii, Capri and the towns along the Amalfi Coast.
Rooms: Felt clean and provided all expected amenities but felt somewhat bare/undecorated. During the night, traffic and the noises of other hotel guests in corridors can be slightly disruptive. Bathroom sinks frequently released a very unpleasant sulfurous smell. Otherwise a pleasant experience.
Pool: On arrival pool was a greenish colour which we assumed was normal. 2 days later the pool was crystal clear. The hotel allowed its guests to swim in a dirty and not fully chlorinated pool without comment. Better upkeep of the pool and it's health concerns would be expected. Sunloungers can be busy and only umbrellas on one side of the pool so access to shade is not always possible.
Reception: The receptionists were generally pleasant when making inquiries but requests were not always fulfilled. We asked to make a double bed into two singles 4 times and we were told each time it had been completed when walking into the room proved it had not been. However, booking day trips was made simple at the front desk.
Breakfast: Most of the food was nice but in such a little room it gets crowded incredibly quickly. The selection wasn't big but that wasn't unexpected however coffee came out lukewarm/cold. The main issue was the flies: everywhere. On multiple days we saw flies flying round the buffet and landing on fruit and pastries whilst choosing to eat outside guarantees a fly attack on you and all food on the table. This is not helped by the fact that staff do not clear empty plates throughout the meal.
Room design, cleanliness.
Pool is not nice, too much noise from construction. Room upgrade came with money and not good value.
We had a fantastic experience at Grand Hotel Flora. The hotel is beautifully renovated, with modern, spacious, and exceptionally clean rooms. Everything was spotless and well maintained, which made our stay even more comfortable. The rooftop bar was a real highlight—we loved enjoying a drink while watching the sunset over the sea. The staff were always friendly, welcoming, and eager to help, making us feel at home throughout our stay. Considering the quality of the facilities, service, and location, we felt the hotel offered great value for money. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sorrento.
No puede tener 4 estrellas
Casi todo
The staff were great. The room was comfortable. The location was good.
The towels were of low quality. The pool decking was dirty and by the end of the day with all the water it made mud. The deck chairs were stained and dirty. The breakfast was chaotic, and the food was powdered eggs.
Quarto, hospitalidade , piscina e roof top.
Ar condicionado do quarto e café da manhã
The hotel is excellent value for the price that you pay so close to Sorrento’s centre; 5 minutes from the station and 10 minutes to Piazzo Tasso.
We booked a 4 night package holiday and stayed in a classic/economy on the ground floor of the annexe. Personally, I felt that the bathroom, floor tiles and wooden furnishings had an authentic Italian feel and was a welcome relief from the generic feel of hotel rooms. The room was spotless and I cannot commend the cleaners highly enough.
Breakfast was plentiful with an array of hot food including eggs (scrambled and boiled), bacon, sausage and beans to cold meats, cheese, avocado, fruits, cereal and yoghurt.
Check in is at 3:30; there are plenty of restaurants nearby to spend a blissful few hours with a glass of red (or two) and a bowl of pasta.
There are plenty of sun beds
available and towels are provided.
If you are looking for a good value hotel close to the amenities with no hill climb (the hotel is on the main road of Sorrento) then please don’t hesitate to book the Grand Flora.
C'était propre
Chambre très vieillot
The location was greay....right at the tope of the main street. Pool was brilliant- really clean and not over crowded during the day.
Nothing
Wonderful experience. The service level and the amenities were simply perfect. Me and my girlfriend had such a memorable time there. The dinner on the terrace is just faboulos!
The friendly staff with great recommendations
The was a terrible noise from the elevator that made it hard to rest.
This is not 4-star hotel and for the price I would suggest to look elsewhere. There is a renovated side of the hotel and non-renovated which is not made clear during the booking. We also booked a taxi to the airport which never came and after waiting for an hour we decided to order an uber and ended up missing our return flight. Antonella, from the front desk, was not very pleasant either.
