This hotel is in poor condition, is not clean. The door to the parking lot is broken so you have to walk all the way around to the front entrance at night. People lawyer in the parking lot all night and their activity is suspicious or dubious at best. I would not recommend this location for children women traveling alone. Rooms need painting, and the bathrooms are worn and nasty looking.

I have mixed feelings about my recent stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Chesapeake Square Mall. On the positive side, the staff members were excellent, truly professional, accommodating, and the highlight of the experience.
However, the hotel itself was not up to the standard I expect from the Hampton brand. The ceiling in my room was visibly dirty, which was quite off-putting. I also found it frustrating that housekeeping was only performed upon specific request rather than being a standard service. Most concerning were the reports from other guests who were visibly dissatisfied, with some even mentioning issues with bed bugs. While the team working there is great, the physical state of the building and the lack of proactive cleaning make it hard to recommend this location.
The property was fine. The only complaint was the water pressure in the shower was low and the pool was closed for renovation eliminating a morning swim. The front desk and food staff were very welcoming and accommodating

Ask for a shower mat, the shower pans are slick.
My room was large, very clean and cool. As always, the linens and mattress create a great sleep experience. The provided body wash, shampoo and conditioner are well above average.
For this location, it is the staff that makes it. Both ladies, check in and check out were joyous, professional and extremely efficient. I would come back because of them.

The property needs upgrades. Its old carpet needs to be replaced, and the furniture should be changed out. The entire building requires an upgrade. The property needs improvements overall.
