Lovely hotel, really welcoming staff in a lovely area in central Manchester, with city views from the rooms. Great sound proofing in rooms, nice food in hotel and good facilities
Only a small thing but bed was squeaky, so every time I turned over I woke myself up! Also only having scrambled eggs at breakfast
The location was perfect for our theatre trip
We always enjoy the buffer breakfast really good selection of food
Nothing
The pool / spa is amazing! The food choice + quality is superb (breakfast was included with our stay). All staff (reception, housekeeping, security) are super lovely and very helpful. Tonnes of complimentary items and basically everything you could possibly need available upon request. Fridge in room. Ice + cold water machine at the end of the hallway, game changer! Shower water pressure was REALLY good and a really nice sized bath.
Our room was a little dated and a lot of dark stains/marks on the furniture and walls, rust in the bathroom etc. I'm sure it was clean but that does take away from the luxury feel quite a lot. The bed was very springy and stiff but not necessarily uncomfortable. My main point of contention is that our air conditioner was broken and turning it on actually made the room sweltering rather than the opposite and the room was still too warm with it switched off (it was actually cold outside during our stay so not sure why the room was so warm). You cannot open the windows. Probably could've gone to reception for a solution but didn't want to mess about changing rooms.
Ticked all the boxes and decent value given its central location (it was midweek and not very busy)
The shower was leaking the whole bathroom
And I had a disabled person with me who slipped and injured their head, due to the leak that was in the bathroom. The bath plug was stuck and he was not keeping tge water in the bathtub. the shower head from the bathtub was not realising any water and there was barely any water coming out. My brother has cancer psoriasis and he requires a shower for hygiene unfortunately we couldn’t as there was a lot of technical issue which has resulted us from now showering. The heating system was not working and we were left sleeping cold the whole night. I have the arthritis and fibromyalgia joins diseases and I cannot be in a cold room and I needed heat. It was freezing and I couldn’t even turn the AC off us. It was faulty and we were allowed to sleep in the cold. I’m not happy with the service and I would like a full refund.
