Good hotel. Would stay again.
Pros:

Helpful friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Nice breakfast. Free parking.

Excellent Location when you are up and down the Country.
Pros:

Room was excellent, bathroom well equipped and excellent shower. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice both hot & cold foods. Liked the "Grab & Go" bag idea. We never used it but excellent idea.

Cons:

Room was a little hot, however it was hot externally and a fan was provided. Having said the bed was comfortable my wife has hip problems and she felt the bed was a bit hard.

Dissatisfied
Cons:

No air conditioning. Breakfast is basic. Needed to checkout at Noon but unhelpful and arrogant front desk refused, telling me housekeeping will be knocking the door shortly, despite the hotel was not fully booked for next day. Next time will just not ask and stay until they knock the door.

Ridiculously poor & staff were completely disinterested.
Cons:

Didn't provide the twin beds we asked for and staff admitted they never check the details on booking.com requests so 2 adults had no choice but to share a double bed. No exchange possible.
Very noisy at night as bedroom overlooked a very busy road, no soundproofing.
Bed springs were prominent on RHS of the bed, bedside light bulb didn't work.
Breakfast was very poor, items had run out & weren't being replaced, tables were dirty, piles of dirty plates etc and barely anything for vegetarians. Staff were disinterested. Guests ended up eating in the reception area on the sofas because there was nowhere to sit.
Still awaiting a response from the hotel as I raised a complaint 6 weeks ago and have followed up, but still nothing.
What had been a birthday celebration night away (attending a concert nearby) ended up being possibly the worst hotel stay we've experienced.

Pros:

Close proximity to family. Clean, comfortable room and public areas.
Great breakfast options, friendly and attentive staff in both reception, bar and breakfast room.

Good hotel with even better Hotel team.
Pros:

Normally a little wary of booking a Holiday inn because of some poor experiences in the past in older hotels. This was in a good location and easily accessible from the M6. Room was a good size, it was very warm and the room only had a fan, no AC. Hotel chains need to start to build including AC as the UK continues to have warmer summers. Buffet breakfast was tasty and convenient.
What really stood out was how great the staff on duty, friendly an really helpful.
