We need it noted somehow that we only have 8 standard 2 queen pet-friendly (dogs only) rooms and that guests need to call the hotel directly in order to guarantee one of these rooms. Pros:

This is one of the best hotels in Houghton, period the staff is friendly and courteous, the property is clean and well maintained, and the location is convenient.
There's nothing quite as welcoming as a blazing fire in the fireplace and the smell of fresh baked cookies!
Nicole and her staff always go the extra mile.
I am a retired "road warrior" with many hotel stays over the years, and I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. Country Inn and Suites in Houghton sets a high bar for others to clear. Very good value for money.

College Visit
Pros:

Hotel was overpriced for location and time of the year. Similar hotel in Marquette was ~$100 cheaper. Taking advantage of limited choices

Room clean. Front staff friendly. Breakfast average.

Such a welcoming and comfortable place to stay.
Pros:

Our stay was great from check-in to check-out. The room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable; we both slept really well. Breakfast options were also numerous and yummy. We ran into some of the housekeeping staff in the hallway and they were quite welcoming, respectful, and energetic.

Cons:

There was nothing we didn't like about our stay. All staff and other guests we interacted with were positive and chatty (in a good way). Hallways were quiet, as well.

Pros:

The staff was very helpful and courteous. The location was excellent. The rooms were clean.

Cons:

The breakfast bar could have been better. The food was not replaced in a timely manner. There was little attention to cleanliness of the place. The garbage was overflowing, tables were not washed off, and the food spaces were not kept clean. For those reasons we chose not to eat there during the rest of our stay. Also, we thought it was extremely overpriced for the age of the place.

A very comfortable and convenient location.
Pros:

The location of the property is perfect! Easy access in and out and in the middle of everything.

Cons:

There is a side door that kept slamming shut during late hours. I would imagine it’s the traffic you get from people going to the restaurant next door. It’s unfortunate my room was up the stairs by the door. I’m sure the wind wasn’t any help as well.

Pleasant Overnight Stay
Pros:

We had a very nice stay here at the end of the busy tourist season. It checked all my boxes for pleasant and helpful staff, safety, cleanliness, comfy linens, convenient charging outlets, and well-maintained rooms. The breakfast was good with the usual hot and cold choices. The lobby is very welcoming and cozy, but small. Would definitely stay here again!
