It's a nice size room, staff is excellent, they are willing to help, respectful, and each one were caring people.
The trails to go to the bedroom lack of good lighting, it's so dark at night that it can become a safety hazard.
Calm ,secure, separate from crowd and intimate
Few amenities , i like more options
** the best: Great view of the ocean. Very pleasant swimming pool facing the ocean, with nice chairs to hang around it.**
Beach towels and chairs provided.
Shower had no hot water, only lukewarm or cold. The small facial towel smelled like feet/cheese. The rest of the towels… well I stopped smelling them.
The room was as dark as a cave and the lights flickered. Walls covered in art but nothing ‘relaxing’.
Staff was cold, unusual for PR.
One cannot leave any bag before check in- secured. My backpack was left in the middle of the reception area, otherwise ‘we needed to pay hourly’ if (only if) they’d find availability.
When i mentioned about the shower and water temperature, we were told ‘ah, yes, everybody tells us about it’ ‘i never tried myself’ ‘the supervisor says one has to move the shower faucet in a certain way, but I dont know much’.
Bed uncomfortable, sofa lopsided.
The view is the best value of the property.
Food is also delicious in the restaurant, nice drinks, friendly staff.
The room quality compare withh the value doesnt match at all, its too pricy for this quality.
Paradise!

This was our 3rd stay at Blue Horizon. We like the location and the grounds were really pretty this time. Much greener and more in bloom. The staff is always very pleasant.
Unfortunately, the upkeep of the property has gone downhill. Many of the porches and decks are rotted and need attention. We had several dead roaches in our room. That didn’t bother us too much, since it is a tropical place and they are obviously spraying for pests. Just a little disappointed about the cost vs. the condition of the property.
Amazing view, it feels like heaven!
PLEASE get a good coffee machine for the restaurant that makes espresso.
Privacidad y restaurante
Mantenimiento en las habitaciones y el hotel en general.
We stayed at the property 3 years ago. We have also eaten at the restaurant multiple times and have witnessed the lamentable decline in service. When you compare the incredibly gorgeous location this property sits on with the lack of even basic business strategies like updating their Google page to correctly reflect their operating hours, the dichotomy is astounding. So sad because it has great potential that is being wasted
Beautiful location and views. Very peaceful and spacious accommodations. The wild horses roaming the property were lovely treat! The beach is rocky but right off the bank of the hotel. A bit far from town so recommend renting a 4wheeler or car, also so you have more food options.
Service was TERRIBLE in the restaurant, we waited for several hours one night. Breakfast slow as well as the bar. Mostly due to under staffing or new staff that did not know what they were doing. I felt bad for them but it was not a good experience. Food was ok, though the views made up for it! But extremely overpriced for what you got. Wouldn’t count on getting frequent meals there. Front desk staff was lovely and welcoming and willing to help at any time. Place was a bit run down in some parts for the price and 4 star rating.
I liked the location, the view, and the place.
I didn’t like the service and the attitude of the staff. The rooms we were given did not match what I had originally reserved. On our last day, we were not served breakfast, and the reason we were given was that the cook was in a bad mood. No one at the hotel was able to resolve the situation or offer any kind of solution. Overall, the staff showed very little empathy. Considering the price we paid, the quality of service was extremely poor.
We made a reservation for a group of 16 at Blue Horizon Restaurant & Bar while visiting Vieques. We arrived about an hour early hoping to enjoy the view and have a drink at the bar before being seated.
This has always been one of our favorite spots to watch the sunset while in Vieques, so we were really looking forward to the evening. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible from the moment we walked in. The bartender reacted with obvious frustration when our group started ordering drinks, speaking rudely and dismissively despite our efforts to be polite and even offering to keep everything on one tab. She eventually walked away mid-interaction.
Hoping to resolve things, we spoke with the manager, but that conversation was just as disappointing. Instead of addressing the issue, the manager was dismissive and unfriendly, making it clear our group wasn’t welcome and even blaming the poor interaction on us.
Before we were even seated, it was obvious that staying wasn’t an option. We left and went elsewhere for dinner. It was incredibly disappointing, and sadly, this experience has made it so we will never return, despite this being a tradition we’ve always looked forward to while visiting Vieques. There are so many better options in Esperanza.
