Nice location, quiet, cozy
The jacuzzi in the king room is not clean. When I turned on the faucet, yellow rusty water and sediment came out.
Everything was lovely will be back
proximity to area
Food was great and the spot is a hidden gem we discovered
The bed was showing it’s age and was not comfortable.
I love the location of this place. You can catch the sunset and sunrise. There’s a private beach and lots of free activities like paddle-boarding, kayaking, canoeing, and tennis courts. The staff were very friendly, especially at the front desk.
The bed isn’t very comfortable.
Quaint
Nothing
Breakfast was excellent. Property is great. Dinner was great. Walking trails were good.
The facility is not designed for seniors. Walking and carrying luggage up and down hills was difficult. No one offered help. Showers had no shelves for soaps etc. No hooks for towels. Noises from upstairs and dogs barking were annoying.
Property well maintained. Ample parking. Friendly staff.
Ice machine broken and there was no other ice machine available on any of the other floors.
The shower pressure was great.
The rest was terrible.
We were put in a Cedarwood room in a secondary building even though I phoned ahead to make sure our room was in the main building and early check-in at 2pm.
Parking was too far from the building for someone with a disability especially in the freezing weather. It’s about 200 feet for first tier and further for 2nd tier parking.
We managed to change rooms into one in the main inn. It was a shoe box about 10 X 10 ft. We were glad to be in the Inn. The bed was small as was the bathroom. It had been renovated but was lacking in thought….very little room for toiletries. There was nowhere to put shampoo or soap in the shower so was forced to put on lip of shower enclosure at floor level. This room is suitable for a child or a midget, not for two elderly big men.
We went for a drink in the lounge before Christmas Day dinner.
Our seating in the dining room was close to the window and there was plenty of room at the table.
They were out of many wines in the price range we wanted?? I digress, once the wine was sorted we ordered from the set menu. The Quebec French onion soup was just onion soup in a bowl, no cheese, no bread and not fired under a salamander. The salad was too sweet and the crab cakes the size of a small coin. The main, turkey with the trimmings was the worst turkey I have ever had…made from a pre cooked and frozen pressed breast…no dark meat, not from a nice cooked whole turkey. The sausage meat stuffing was awful and unlike traditional stuffing couldn’t have been cooked inside the turkey. There were 2 green beans, 2 tiny sprouts, 1 carrot, 1 small piece of cauliflower and mashed potato…all under seasoned and tasteless. The desert was store bought and previously frozen.
The service was decent.
To be quite honest we hoped this resort would be somewhere we could return annually for our Christmas Day dinner and stay. Not in a million years.
Why was the room allocation so bad? Who knows but the room given and food quality and experience was terrible.
We left at 5 am without sleeping much and to add injury to insult a resort fee of $29 with tax was paid.
Maybe you can get away with this type of service and experience with tourists but not with locals like us that ran a very successful restaurant for over 25+ years and have between us over 60 years in the service industry.
Absolutely shameful,
Unfortunately we visited in the winter and the cottages here are in desperate need of a makeover.
We had NO heat in the bedroom or bathroom of our unit Pinewood West. The fridge didn’t cool anything and the fireplace grate was not the right size to make a fire. The bathroom door was jamming and hard to open, massive squeaking. The walkway from the unit to the main lodge wasn’t taken care of like the others, was very slippery.
This unit is connected to Pinewood East and the doors between were difficult to open and close if desired.
We would not recommend this unit
The lodge was great for having a meal or drink. The staff also were great.
Cheers
