Hampton Inn Clarion

Transferred from the horrible Spark hotel down the road because of the nasty conditions. Hilton Honors made our second night reservation the night before. Around 10am housekeeping knocked and walked in while we were sleep. Then around 11am someone came knocking on the door asking was we checking out then called the room asking the same thing. I told them HH reserved our reservation they said okay. When I fully wake up I see the hotel charged me for the room when the points took care of the hotel stay. I went to the front desk and asked why did they charge me, the front desk manager yelled and argued with me saying they didn’t charge me. I called HH they said the hotel did charge but they canceled it. The lady front desk manager is very unprofessional and very lucky I needed to be there because my son was in the hospital or she would’ve had a very bad day when she yelled at me!!! I have the whole conversation recorded when she was yelling so she can’t deny it!

I found the hotel to be in good condition. But the pool was closed due to maintenance and the room was in very poor condition.

I liked it easy on off highway spacious parking it did have a pool but it was small they could convert it to a hot tub spa.

Breakfast was great with lots of options. Rooms were comfortable and quiet.

Very very friendly. Decorated cute for the season. Had a wonderful breakfast!! Room was super clean. Nice Walmart is just across the street and fast food nearby.
We were here for a Penn State game and although it was far away it was a great inbetween PSU & the pit airport.

Hamptin inn Kenza the mgr wanted me to tell you hotel.com that I bever showed because they charged me for the room when it was already paid for. She didnt want to credit me back. She wanted me to call you and commit fraud. She said if I call you and say I didnt stay and that the hotel is willing to forgive it then when you call her to confirm she will agree. Unreal. Told her absolutely not. Had to argue for an hour for her to credit me back for what Hampton inn in clarion PA charged me for in error. They also have a hold for 341.88 that still have not released 4 days later. She said she " has no idea why their system does that sometimes" and eventually supposedly I will get it back someday. Terrible.

Easy check in, the front desk clerk was nice and helpful. The room was clean. We've actually saved the hotel as a first choice for the area.

Room was very clean and well prepared for our overnight stay. Reception staffer was very nice.

Morning breakfast area was very clean and had a nice variety of foods, waffles, hot plate omelettes, oatmeal, juices, coffee.

It was quiet

Our bathroom was dirty and smelled of urine!

This hotel has the potential to be amazing with its well appointed lobby and fitness room. Breakfast has hot and cold options prepared by the very friendly and hard working Esmeralda. The location is ideal as it is right off the highway and close to Cook Forest. As a Hilton Honors member, I was surprised by the aged rooms. There was a water stain on the ceiling, a rusted toilet paper holder, the shower floor creaked loudly with every step you took and it sounded like it was about to collapse. Based on the age of the hotel and lack of keeping up with maintenance, I don't think it warrants the high cost for the night.
