Nice location, big room with harbour view, very friendly staff.
Hotel a bit outdated with some appliances not functioning (yoghurt machine, vending machine).
Loved the location, we walked to the beach daily and enjoyed the strip of the pacific coast highway its on. Lots of restaurants and bars to choose from, all within walking distance
The 90s called and they want their furniture and decor back lol but honestly it wasn't bad. We'd book again. Next time I want to get a harbor view instead of street view.
Once arrived and saw the reception area chose not to stay.
Reception area and staff are behind plexiglass which was not welcoming and did not feel safe staying there.
Photos should be updated.
The location was decent in terms of drive time to get to my Saturday plans but frankly everything in Orange County takes a long time to drive to, so location was not a hugely important factor to me. The bed was comfy enough to sleep. Bed and all other cloth furniture passed my bed bug check I do for all hotels. Though the desk leather black chair had dirt/ sand/ whatever along the back fold.
Please:
Investigate & eliminate mold/ mildew smell. Caused me to have allergic rxn despite taking Claritin at night (I'm highly allergic). Have some sort of lock, buzz to enter, or key card entry for the sketchy garage entry close to foot traffic. Also maybe fix the flickering light by that unlocked entrance. Didn't feel safe as solo traveller & I am pretty independent and don't spook easily. Fix the carpet peeling up in closet. Replace rotting wood in bathroom & investigate if any other rotting wood. I don't know why wall had random splotches of paint and dark stuff peeking through, but as someone familiar with "landlord specials", I hope it's not covering something up.
Front desk person was pretty silent during check in. When I checked out early on Saturday morning due to the conditions and described to front desk man why, he kept trying to change subject and overall seemed uninterested in what I had to say even though I was specifying my concerns in a not angry and neutral but tired tone.
Days & many calls and emails later I'm still in refund process...
Checked out a night early because I was so anxious and allergic reaction. I'm very familiar with 3 star hotels and this didn't feel like one- quite the whiplash having just transferred from another better 3 star hotel to this one. Didn't have the time/ ability to find elsewhere on such short notice so made 1 uncomfy night work.
Wouldn't recommend this place to solo travellers, especially women solo travellers. It wasn't even a budget location because the total cost per night of ~180 with fees was not worth what was offered. I've found other hotels at that price for better and Airbnbs for less that were lovely.
I did not like that when i checked in the attendant did not tell us that there was no working water for at least an hour or 2.
location was great
sofa bed was broken. no patio that we paid for
Great location, walk across the street to the beach! Sunset and harbor view is beautiful. Cute hotel for a good deal.
There was food close by
Old vending machines was out of order. Had to pay to park
Location
TVs dont connect to WiFi, uncomfortable beds compared to other best westerns I’ve been to. Outlet placement sucked, no pool also sucks.
My room was spacious and quiet. A comfortable bed and couch and desk made for a perfect stay. The breakfast was good.
Good breakfast.
Very high step to enter the bathroom.
Friendly
Great Breakfast!!
No public jacuzzi
Very nice room, big tv, nice view, comfortable bed
Bathroom needs to be updated. The tub seemed to leak onto the floor and the towel rack was broken. Looked old. When we checked in we were told about 10$ parking per night, which is fair, but wasn't expecting it.
