Everything bar the location
Location was a bit remote
After a 3 hour drive home afterwards I only found one single thing that could possibly be considered a positive about the Hotel, room, facilities, and food: the grilled halloumi was a pretty decent portion size. Nothing else.
Disappointed to arrive and discover that the hotel parking is extra cost. The carpark was never even half full during my stay so it clearly wasnt due to capacity that they charge an additional £10 a day just to park at the hotel you're staying in.
The room was worn; flaking paint on the ceilings, missing glass on the bathroom light fixture along with badly sealed tiles and pipework, scuffs and damage to the furniture, walls, doors.
Further disappointed to discover the room had a single plug socket, positioned too far from the desk, table, or even the bed to have anything plugged in unless it was on the floor. The 2 additional USB power ports by the bed, 1 didnt work and the other provided minimal charge and cables didnt seat properly as it had clearly been damaged.
The bathroom was awful - the toilet didnt actually flush on day 1 but this was "repaired" on day 2 which upgraded it to needing 4-5 attempts to get it to flush and left my room with the lovely aroma of silicon sealant. The room had an over-bath shower whilst was clearly installed by someone who never intended to use it. To get under the woefully inadequate shower head you had to stand with your feet on the curved end of the bath. As for some reason it was an accessibility room, there was a large handrail installed on the wall beside a large rack of shampoo/shower gel bottles which ensured that I couldnt actually stand face on without touching either the shower door or the aforementioned wall furniture.
The breakfast was consistently overcooked, assuming there was any of the cooked food actually available. Dinners were average quality at high prices.
The bed was hard and uncomfortable, even by "firm" standards.
Walls so thin I was woken early every morning by a neighbours alarm clock.
Upon checkout, I was informed I should have explicitly stated I didnt want an accessibility room, for some reason, and should have asked for a softer bed.
Breakfast and the bed
Dusty surfaces,
The room, the comfortable beds, good bathroom
Very few sockets, had to unplug phone to plug in kettle, flex barely long enough to reach.
Two USB sockets only, Hair dryer did not work but too few sockets on the dressing table to plug it in.
Water in shower not very warm and hard to adjust, bath barely big enough to stand in, never mind sit!
Why not just a walk in shower??
We would rather have a window that opened not air con.
Location was ideal for our needs, easy access to M1 and within walking distance to Fosse Park for food and a spot of shopping. Cheap Pub just round the corner was handy. Accommodation was clean and staff friendly. Plenty of parking.
Breakfast was excellent. Staff were attentive and willing to help.
The car parking could of been better. I do not like paying for parking.
Very clean and great staff
Just that the pool was no longer available
Close proximity to narborough Road where there is a temple which I chair
Not clean rooms
Great stay , staff welcoming
