Superb place to stay
Pros:

Excellent stay for eight days at the Domes. We took advantage of an offer and had half board. From the commencement of our trip we could not have had better treatment. We had a room upgrade and because we were registered for their loyalty programme we were treated to a bottle of wine a plate of fresh fruit in the room. I would like to single or individual staff who have particularly good service. Rita, guest manager, who sorted out a slight mix up over the Cataplana cooking course, Erika who have us a guided tour of the grounds and told us about the wildlife, Gabriel and Telmo in the restaurant who were particularly friendly and attentive. On the whole an excellent stay. Highly recommended

Pros:

Just finished an exceptional five night stay at the Domes Lake. The staff at this property were phenomenal. They went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. The room had a great view over the lake and was tastefully decorated. It was a pleasure to return to our oasis every day, after exploring the beach and marina. We really appreciated how quiet and relaxing our room was. Special thanks to Francesca for the lovely welcome amenities and for curating a fabulous stay, start to finish . We especially enjoyed the Portuguese wine tasting with Vidalis.
Erica from custom relations, was also available to book dinner reservations or spa appointments, and led a lovely bird watching expedition around the property. The breakfast buffet was vast and varied and offered anything you could possibly want. Special mention to Margarida for ensuring my spouse, who has celiac, always had something delicious to eat. This property takes food allergies and restrictions extremely seriously. We also enjoyed room service several times during our stay and it was excellent! Every staff member we encountered from the maids to the servers at breakfast and in the restaurants were professional and kind. Our time at this hotel was truly wonderful. Obrigada!

This is based on a couples experience. However the Hotel is immaculate.
Pros:

The positives are that this hotel is spotlessly clean, in great condition and the staff are excellent and very friendly.

You may ask why our review is poor. It was the experience. What is often described as a haven for luxury and relation, best hotel in Vilamoura etc. was not what happened. We went on a couples New Year break and found the place over run with badly behaved children and parents not controlling them. A hotel cannot mandate for their guests behaviour but knows in advance the mix of groups and needs. The hotel had various facilities that were not open and could have made adults only areas etc. The spa was like a children's waterpark and parents ignored all the rules about spa etiquette and the hotel did not enforce them either. In fairness the hotel took on board my comments and explained that they would attempt to mitigate in the future for these situations, so hopefully no-one else needs to have this experience. I also advise the hotel admitted they could have offered a better balance for all guests and made generous offers should we return, which to be fair we will be very unlikely to ever return to Vilamoura; the demographic in the hotel is also representative of the changes in Vilamoura of the type of person who visits. The marina area is now full of Irish Bars and massage parlours. I'm not knocking people who want that sort of holiday, however this resort has been shifting away from a nice couples marina resort to a different type of destination for years and although we regularly visit Portugal several times a year, it was 18 years since we were last in Vilamoura and we will not be returning.

In summary, had the hotel been the peaceful oasis we were seeking, it would not have mattered what the marina area was like, however this was not the case. I have never witnessed as many poorly behaved children in my life being allowed everywhere and I mean everywhere, in a luxury hotel; when you can't even get a seat in the cocktail bar because it's more like a scene from Bugsy Malone, you know it's the last time you'll visit. Such a shame, as this hotel is potentially an absolute cracker, but I suggest it's better suited as a families hotel who probably love taking their young kids there. Great facilities for them to run around in safety.

Pros:

Fantastic hotel, it felt modern with luxurious interiors and amazing pools and grounds. Really comfy bed, kind staff, and we highly rated the buffet meals. Overall would absolutely recommend staying here!

Cons:

Our room wasn’t ready on time for check in so had to wait another hour while they finished cleaning. The staff could’ve done a better job at letting us know what was going on.

Simplesmente fantástico , adoramos o hotel !
Adoramos à localização, o conforto do hotel assim como a equipa era incrível 🙂
Para não falar do pequeno almoço era incrível !!

Cons:

A única coisa que não adoramos infelizmente foi uma sandes de bife do lombo pedida no bar junto à piscina , o bife não era do lombo e o serviço foi muito demorado e sem a gentileza dos restantes funcionários.
