Pelican Waters Resort

There isn't really anything we could fault. Our apartment was clean and well equipped. Lovely view of the golf course. Sure, it's a drive to anywhere but we knew that when we booked....hardly worth writing as a bad review! Used the restaurant and it was great....very cost friendly. Totally recommend 👌.

The Good: We actually booked a weekend at this resort and had to cancel. They very kindly allowed us to take different dates in lieu - not all companies are so generous.
We checked in at 11:00am even though it was obviously too early to go to our room because we wouldn't be returning till late and reception closes at 3:00pm on weekends. We are not a fan of "collect your key from a coded box" systems due to experiences elsewhere. The receptionist was pleasant and efficient.
We were in a motel room on the fourth floor. The room was spacious, nicely-furnished and spotless with a decent-sized balcony. The rain shower had good water pressure and the TV even had overseas channels. The air conditioning worked well and could be adjusted easily.
We ate breakfast in the cafe which has picturesque views of the golf course. The menu is basic, but the food was nicely presented. Staff were cheerful and helpful.
There is plenty of underground parking which is accessed with your room key.

The Bad: The bedding set up leaves much to be desired. There is one bedside table between two double beds. My partner uses a CPAP machine, but we couldn't find an outlet. Eventually we found a Kambrook in the bedside drawer which is somehow affixed to the wall behind - not the best set up.
You need a car. It is a five-minute drive to a suburban shopping centre and tavern.

The Ugly: The beds are lumpy and squeaky. I suspect that the mattresses sag so they have tried to solve the problem with hard mattress toppers that are narrower than the mattress. My thin pillow actually slipped through the space between the mattress and bedhead during the night. Not particularly comfortable.

OVERALL: This accommodation is typical of all the golf course resorts built a few decades ago - cavernous and unexciting. The rooms are fine - bar the bedding situation. The cafe is fine albeit with a pedestrian menu. In general, the whole resort is perfectly functional but lacks any atmosphere.

The lady at the front counter that checked me in absolutely hates her job with a passion , the place was clean , car park was a but weird had birds flying around everywere lucky the car was a rental. My neighbours kept me up all night drinking and loud music , there is no one at the reception desk so dont even bother with that your on your own if you need to talk to anyone its pointless. I just cant beleive people can be so rude , i walked in from the longest drive from penrith to be greeted by the lady there she just looked at me , not can i help you nothing .. i say hey how ya going im here to check in still nothing come out of her mouth , then she says ID , no hello no anything .. i handed her my licence she checked me in. I said thisbis a beautiful place here , still no word from here. She says to me whats your licence plate number , i said i dont know its a rental ill go out and check she says it should be on your key ring , i couldnt read it on the key ring was smudged .. i said can you read that she says easy 146 qbt what ever it was , i said ok i cant read that .. she hands me the keys says level 4 and hands me 2 cookies . Cookies tasted like crap . Anyways i get down to my car was the wrong number plate but im not gunna say anything she had a massive chip on her shoulder . Glad to be at home to be honest worst experience ive ever had at a place . Only good thing is place was clean

I asked for the room to tidy and cled with fresh towels on Saturday 4 October but the room wasn't done.

Mostly, things were okay. Had a couple of problems with damp carpet and noisy guests.

Limited dinning an from our room we could hear gym noise at530 am pools are excellent

Great place to stay

A lovely spacious resort.

Have stayed several times, love the easy parking, staff are friendly and helpful. Nice quiet area. It is a bit away from from the beach and other facilities ie shops and cafes, however it is peaceful.

IT WAS TIRED.

We were celebrating my wife’s birthday with another couple and it was the first time we had stayed here and rooms were a good size, staff were friendly and service was great. Restaurant food was excellent. We would definitely come back again

We have stayed here many times and have always had great service. This time did not disappoint, as usual the restaurant staff were great and the food really good. The rooms are a little bit in need of tlc but it will not stop us returning soon, beds are comfy and the rooms spacious.

Quiet, nice beds

Quiet clean relaxing. Has everything you want with beautiful scenery and no crowds at this time of year. Very affordable with a high end look and feel

Thankyou, we loved our stay. The staff are all very friendly & helpful. Our room was ready earlier. Beds very comfy. Toaster in the room was a bonus with plates & cutlery & washing up supplies. Restaurant for breakfast & coffees also great & not overpriced.

Receiving warm cookies on arrival was a lovely gesture and fabulous first impression. The room was spacious and had everything we needed.
