Grand Hotel Downtown - Frankfurt Central Station - Boutique Design Hotel

Klimaanlage war defekt, der Raum stickig und stinkte. Auf Nachfrage hieß es die Handwerker seien schon beauftragt. Auch am darauffolgenden Tag bekam ich die gleiche Antwort. Booking.com wurde erzählt, es ginge und wäre eine Zentralklimaanlage. Aber Klimaanlage im Eingang funktionierte einwandfrei und war kalt dort. Mir wurde ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, was aber auch heiß und stickig war und auf der gleichen Etage zum Innenhof, wo direkt Rohre neben meinem Fenster verliefen, das hätte alles nur verschlechtert, weil dann sicher gerüche reingezogen wären. Hinzu war der Raum schlechter geschnitten.. Lüftungsschacht im Bad war offen und total verstaubt. Das hat die Puztkraft und sonst niemand gesehen oder bemängelt? Das Licht flackerte, selbst nach dem Austausch der Glühbirne. Im Zimmer war das Parkett an einer Stelle kaputt und aufgequollen und etwas scharf, man kann sich verletzen. Die Billigkarten zum öffnen der Tür musste ich mehrfach unten erneut aktivieren lassen, weil sie schon bei Reibung nicht mehr funktionieren. das passierte 4-5x. Unter meinem Zimmer war eine Bar, Sonntags bis ca. 2 Uhr laute Musik und Bass. Sonntags gibt es sicherlich dafür keine Genehmigung. Der Mitarbeiter der Nachts da war, ist unhöflich. Das war auch derjenige, der behauptet hatte die Bar hätte dafür eine Genehmigung und auf meine Antwort, das kann nicht sein, dann meinte er wüsste es nicht. Dann fragte er nach der Zimmer Nr. meinte er notiert sich das, auf meine Frage wofür, ob denn was gemacht wird, hieß es nein. Und ich so wenn nichts gemacht wird, wofür wird es notiert. er so wir können nichts tun. Schönen Tag noch. Und beendet das Gespräch. Sehr unangenehmer Mann.

I was not having a air conditioning in the room that almost very small was noisy and was very bad area the receptionist was very rude was not polite at all and I was not having all the necessity that I need in the room and I don't like it for nothing.

De vele verslaafden in de omgeving. Ik vond ht lastig dat gegeven te negeren.

Klimaanlage alt, laut und unbrauchbar bei Außentemperaturen über 30 Grad. Dusche winzig und starr montiert. Zimmer nicht abschließbar und kein 'Bitte nicht stören Schild".

Das Lichtsystem im Zimmer ist sehr stylish, aber völlig unpraktisch. Es gibt sehr viele Schalter und viele Farbmöglichkeiten. Ich hätte aber leider einen hellen Raum.

We arrived a few hours early asked if we could check in early, we were told we could at a fee of €10 per hour. If the rooms were available why not just let us go in.

This is not the fault of the hotel but it's in an notoriously bad part of town. A lot of junkies and homeless outside.
We never had any bad experiences with anyone. If you go a block in any direction it's fine.
There is a lot of police in the area which is good.
If you are a solo female traveller or someone who is nervous travelling in dodgy areas it's best not to stay here.
If the hotel was in a different part of town it would be fine.

This last stay (June 1st to 2nd) has been the worst experience ever; here it is why. I arrived at 17:45; the receptionist was a young man, who spoke the fastest German I have ever heard (I am German myself btw!). He was impossible to understand; he blurred out words and even getting impatient when asked to repeat. From his attitude could you clearly understand that he was there for the money and not because he really cared for the job or for customer service. After a rough start, I get my room (108); a first floor room with a little window facing a dirty inside-roof. You could see that the room was surely spotless clean but it stank so baldy; a mix of incredibly stinky feet and pee. I hoped to release the room from the odour starting the Air Conditioner; it did not work: there was NO functioning air conditioning. So, after 10/15 mins I go back to the reception and, mortified, I ask the guy if there was a chance to change the room. He looked really pissed - like I was just bothering him. After I tried telling him that the room stinks badly and getting CONSTANTLY interrupted, I had to BEG HIM to be so kind to let me finish my sentence. He even call the housekeeper telling him that the room was not clean. I stopped him immediately and said AGAIN: the room is perfectly clean, it just stinks a lot. He sends me back to the 108 and tell me to wait for the housekeeper. Few moments after I was in front of my room 108 waiting for the housekeeper, the same receptionist-guy come to me with a new key and a new room: 208. The 208 was as perfect clean as the 108, just a floor higher. It was okay. It was very warm; and he told me that there was no function AC. I tried to ask for a Ventilator but it never came.

Room is a little cramped but I didn't mind it because it meant we had what we needed in the room.
