Enjoyable stay and daily breakfast

Stayed at the Pullman for 12 days, all the staff was so great and accommodating especially
Thierry and Charles in the restaurant. They were on top of everything from bringing special orders and clearing plates. The helped make my mornings enjoyable.

NOT a five star venue by any means.
Pros:

As loyal Accor guests, we booked this property for its close proximity to the La Defense area and its Christmas market.
La Defense is the Canary Wharf of Paris. Very modern transport links and a swift 2 stop, 10 minute train ride to Gare du Nord. Also on the direct RER line to visit Disneyland in 50 minutes or so.
So despite not being in central Paris, we knew this and the location suited our needs.

Now for the supposed 5 star rating.
Rooms are cheap and tired. Mould on bathroom seals. Loose fittings etc.

Loyalty benefits as a Diamond member poorly administered if at all.
No priority welcome, no mention of any upgrades.
Welcome gift for a family of four a small single bar of chocolate. For a five star property that’s laughable.
Attempted to be charged for weekend breakfast despite status.
The room was booked for 2 adults and 2 children., yet the room only prepared for 2 adults. Had to chase housekeeping for sofa bed bedding. This is not representative of what a five star venue should offer.

Now for the service levels. The hotel is built into a hill side. There’s over 120 steps to the main La defense concourse from the lower level entrance to the hotel and reception. You can see from the attached pictures, although public escalators are available, they rarely worked. The hotel restaurant does have an exit directly onto the concourse level approx 4-5 floors above the main entrance level.
As we looked to vacate through this door an employee barked we couldn’t use this door unless we had luggage! The restaurant was empty after breakfast, not in the middle of an evening dinner service.

Hardly the service of a five star property.

It’s often reported the worst country for Accor service is France. Pretty sad for a French company, but I can now see there’s some truth in this statement.

At best the Pullman La Defense is barely a four star faceless business hotel with zero personal service.

The room was modern, quiet, and very comfortable. Breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh options. The bar is perfect for relaxing in the evening… Esperanza at the front desk for her kindness and helpful attitude.
