It was great except when I was checking out

Nice lady at front counter when I checked in. Good spacious rooms. Fantastic views of the mountains.

Cons:

I didn't appreciate paying for beverages that were out of date and told I wouldn't get a refund or another beverage. So I was taken back by the staff who rudely told me I could get a refund. The staff member also told me I would have to go to the sister casino to get a refund. When I arrived the manager was rude and didn't acknowledge my inconvenience. He also didn't give me refund and was with a customer who he was also being rude to. I won't name these people but they know who they are.

Pros:

The location and the accommodation were fine.

Cons:

We booked a room with 2 beds, but the staff told us they currently have only rooms with 1 bed because of a company providing bedding services. After having to go to the reception desk 2 times a day, we eventually got another room with two beds, and the staff took care of the resort fee for the first two days. This is definitely not sufficient reimbursement, as we essentially got 50% of the booked accommodation for the first three nights of our stay. Not mentioning the fact that the hotel is claiming to have "Free parking" and "Free WiFi" here on Booking.com, while in fact, these are provided for the (mandatory) resort fee, not included in the price of the booking.

Fun atmosphere, but horrible customer hospitality. Not very friendly people work there.
Pros:

It was my first time in Blackhawk, so I liked the location and atmosphere. Parking was easy to get to, and it wasn't crazy crowded.

Cons:

Well, where do I start? Our hot water in our room went out, so it took up a whole half of our day since we wanted to shower. The person who came to give us updates didn't speak any English, and my Spanish is rusty. It just seemed like a lot of mos communication going on, we weren't offered anything for this until we had to ask and play phone tag with a manager. Which gave us a free lunch, so that was cool. The front desk employee said she was the only one working the desk on that day, and being a Sunday, it was a busy day for her to be alone, so that took forever as well.

It was dirty. Someone’s false eyelashes were stuck to bathroom floors. The carpet was filthy. Stains on the bathroom doors no Kleenex . I was disgusted
