During the winter season, due to low occupancy, our services will unfortunately be limited!
Therefore, from the 1st of November until end of March, the restaurant will only be open for breakfast and after that the restaurant and kitchen will be closed, so there will be no additional services such as lunch, bar or dinner.
However, there is a room service menu available in the room from 12pm to 9pm, which must be requested at least 1 hour in advance.
As for the spa, massages and treatments are not available, but you can use free of charges the heated indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, gym and outdoor pools.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.
Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Amazing stay at Vila Alba (+ wedding)!
Pros:

We had the chance to stay at Vila Alba twice. Once a few months before our wedding and again during the wedding itself, and overall it was a really positive experience!

The location is definitely one of the highlights. The hotel is quite secluded, right by Praia de Albandeira, which makes it feel like a peaceful escape. It does mean you need a car to get around, but that’s part of its charm.

The rooms we stayed in (both in March and June 2026) were clean, spacious, and very comfortable, especially the beds, which were incredibly cosy. Some areas can feel slightly darker and show some signs of wear (the resort went through a recent renovation, which we understand now they have completed it), but overall it still feels like a proper resort stay. I would describe it as a solid 4 to 4.5-star experience compared to the places we have been in the Algarve area (and Portugal overall).

Breakfast was also really good, and the overall vibe of the place is relaxed and enjoyable, exactly what you want when you go somewhere like this.

A massive highlight for us was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. From staff at reception (special mention to Siumara), to the general staff taking care of the resort. Also, very special mention to Sandro and the reception team - they really made us feel welcome and elevated the whole experience!

Cons:

Because of the natural surroundings, you do get some wildlife (insects, etc.), which is worth being aware of. This isn’t really something the hotel can completely control given the location. It’s part of being in such a green, coastal environment, but it’s something to keep in mind. If needed, reception is always happy to help with getting some of these unwanted visitors out of your room (and do avoid keeping exposed/open food in your room).

Another aspect to be aware of is the booking and payment process through their own website (at least at the time of our stay - March and June 2026). There is currently a two-step system where you make the booking and then receive a follow-up to complete the payment. While it is manageable once you understand it, it’s not the most intuitive, especially as you are initially asked for payment details, so it can feel like everything is already done when it isn’t.

We experienced this with some of our guests (for the wedding), and it required a bit of back and forth to make sure payments were fully completed. For now, we would recommend booking through platforms like Booking.com, where the process is more straightforward, until this system is fully updated.

Erholsamer Urlaub in einer tollen Anlage mit Luft nach oben

Die Anlage ist toll und sehr ruhig. Der Ausblick vom Restaurant und vom Infinity-Pool wunderschön. Zimmer frisch renoviert, schön und zweckmässig. Die Betten bequem. Das Frühstücksbuffet wurde immer aufgefüllt.

Cons:

Unseres Erachtens keine 5* Anlage. Sie ist zwar sehr schön, aber die Bausubstanz und die Ausführung der Renovation nicht top Qualität. Die Zimmer sind hellhörig, d.h. wenn sich einige Hotelgäste auf der Strasse vor dem Zimmer unterhalten, versteht man jedes Wort. Auch die Türen der Zimmer als auch der Vorplätze fallen laut ins Schloss. Das Frühstücks-Buffet war gut, aber auch nichts besonderes und man konnte auch keine Bestellungen (z.B. Omelette) aufgeben. Das Personal war bemüht und zumeist freundlich, jedoch wenn man ins Restaurant kommt und die erste Frage auch nach einer Woche immer noch der Zimmernummer gilt und nicht wie man geschlafen hat oder sonstige Interessensbekundigungen, dann ist dies auch nicht 5*-like.

Pros:

Excellent staff. Restaurant food is good but maybe a little limited if you eat here every night like we did as we didn’t have a car. Pools lovely, view incredible, room spacious and spotlessly clean.

Gorgeous southern coast location
Pros:

Beautiful location and wonderful rooms. The breakfast was outstanding.

Die Qualität des Essens ist gut, die Getränke sind auch gut.

Cons:

Leider großteils sehr schwaches Personal, keine Bestellung (5 Nächte!) ohne, dass irgendetwas schiefgegangen ist. Oft sehr langes Warten bis überhaupt jemand kommt (trotz leeren Lokals).
Generell alles etwas unnötig verkompliziert.
