DO NOT STAY HERE.......EVER
Pros:

I booked this hotel during a very heavily traveled basketball weekend strictly because it was close to the Memphis Sports & Events Center. It was the only property available in the area, and although I had never stayed at a Best Western before, I decided convenience to the basketball venue was important.
Unfortunately, this became the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.
When I originally booked the reservation, I accidentally selected a room with only a shower. When they quickly realized I called the hotel inquiring if I could have a double room or a room with a tub because I was recovering from a recent surgery and needed one or the other despite my error. If neither was available whether or not it was refundable or not, I would not have been able to stay there. So I called the hotel several days before my scheduled reservation to ask whether I could either switch to a room with double beds or at minimum get a room with a bathtub. I was told that because of the busy weekend, a double room most likely would not be available. However, I was specifically told over the phone that I could have a room with a tub and that the request had been noted And I would be given that room when I arrived for my stay. I proceeded to plan on going there after I was told this information.
That assurance is the only reason I proceeded with keeping the reservation and traveling to the property. Had I been told honestly that no tub room was available, I would never have come to this hotel at all, regardless of cancellation policies or availability elsewhere.
When I arrived at the property, I checked in early and was again told that the room with the tub was not yet cleaned but would be ready if I waited. I was offered a shower-only room immediately if I did not want to wait. Since I had already called ahead days earlier and was once again being told the tub room existed that day and was simply being cleaned, I chose to wait and left for a while before returning an hour later.
When I returned later, I was given a room key. I went upstairs only to discover the room did not have a tub — it only had a shower. I immediately returned to the front desk and explained the issue. I was then handed another room key and again told this room had a tub. I went to the second room and once again found only a shower.
At that point, it became obvious that the information I had been given both on the phone and in person was not truthful. I then asked what happened to the room with the tub that I had specifically been told was being cleaned for me earlier that day that I could have on one of the floors. Suddenly, I was told there were no rooms available with tubs after all, with the variety of different stories that no longer made sense.
Nothing made sense. The explanations constantly changed, the information conflicted with what I had been told repeatedly before, and nobody seemed to care in the slightest. That was the moment I completely lost trust in the property and staff.
Beyond the room situation, the overall property felt unsafe and deeply uncomfortable from the moment I arrived.
The surrounding area already has a reputation for crime, but what stood out immediately was the large circular barbed wire surrounding the fencing of the property. It looked more like approaching a facility than a hotel. I drove around nearby streets and did not see other properties with that cheap level of circular barbwire fencing on top of the fence yet no visible security.. It was alarming.
Inside the hotel, the elevator bounced noticeably every time it moved and did not level properly with the floor when stopping. If one was not careful and mindful you were trip when exiting as it was not level to the floor it had gone to . It genuinely felt unsafe stepping in and out. The elevator buttons were crooked, and after experiencing it, I specifically looked for an inspection certificate because I became concerned about whether it had even been inspected recently. I could not locate one anywhere visible.
The room itself felt neglected. The window shades were dirty, frayed, torn and weary. The air felt stale and stuffy, and I woke up congested despite not having allergies. The overall condition of the property simply did not inspire confidence and failed to meet the minimum standard that won would expect universally.
My son, who was attending the basketball tournament with me and normally always stays with me during tournaments, chose instead to stay with his team because he did not feel safe at this hotel. That alone says everything.
The following day, after leaving early for basketball events, I returned and politely requested to check out and receive a refund because of the repeated misinformation regarding the room accommodations and the overall experience. The front desk simply repeated that I “didn’t book that room,” completely ignoring the fact that I had called ahead specifically to confirm accommodations and had again been told upon arrival that the tub room existed and was being cleaned for me.
There was no accountability, no concern, and absolutely no effort to resolve the situation professionally.
Ironically, this hotel was significantly more expensive than the excellent hotel I relocated to afterward. The difference was immediate. My son rejoined me there, we both felt safe, and the remainder of the tournament weekend went exactly how it should have from the start.
What disturbed me most about this experience was not simply the condition of the hotel — it was the repeated dishonesty and complete indifference toward guests. Once you realize staff are telling you to wait for a room that apparently never existed in the first place, it causes you to question everything else about the property.
I travel frequently and never leave areview like this, but people deserve honesty before spending money and placing themselves or their families in an environment that feels unsafe, poorly managed, and untrustworthy.
Under absolutely no circumstance would I ever recommend anyone stay at this property.
Not for convenience. Not for a tournament weekend. Not because “it’s the only option available.” Not even if the room were free, or you would receive payment for your stay, do not choose this .

Pros:

Centrally located to the area I was visiting

Cons:

Razor wire around the top of the parking lot wall was a bit concerning and the morning lobby staff was too busy flirting with each other to notice the breakfast bar was empty of a few things. When we questioned if more was coming, it still took 15-20 minutes for eggs

Pros:

Niente

Cons:
