Close proximity to many things we wanted to see and do

Upon arrival, there were two dogs consistently barking next door so we asked to switch room. Front desk staff seemed very bothered by this request; our request was granted but not without attitude. Returning from the basketball game at 920 p.m. we were delighted to see the sign outside the bar and restaurant that clarely said "Dinner and drinks 5 -10 p.m." We walked in and began to look at a menu and a very rude waitress barked at us "JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED". We asked why since the sign said 10 pm and she walked off. We tried to tell the front desk staff about this and she giggled and said "huh, I don't know". We asked if there were snacks she could offer us and she just laughed uncomfortably. With all the options in Chapel Hill walkable to campus, will not stay here again. The room was comfortable and clean and the whole MJ theme is very neat.

Rooms were clean, easy to maneuver with luggage cart, safe, quiet. Parking was easy.

Super convenient to UNC

Nice hotel in downtown chapel hill. Eclectic furnishings with a lot of unc references . Don’t think it is worth the 4 stars though. Little things that you would expect for a 4 star hotel were missing. No ice bucket in the room, nor tea, just powdered instant coffee for example . Staff could have been friendlier.

The basketball court in the middle of an atrium open to 3 floors of rooms might be the worst design even of a hotel. Kids and parents are running and yelling in there all day and night as if it were a McDonald’s Playland. Hotel staff did not help mitigate the constant yelling. It is truly unbelievable. Would definitely not ever stay here unless it was truly the last place in Chapel Hill.

The drag show for 3 hours was a terrible idea. It was loud and that is not for family to enjoy. It literally took up the entirety of our stay. That would have been a better idea for vegas or a bar.

Staff great, good location, easy parking!

Wonderful eclectic hotel. The bed was really comfortable! Great location and view from our balcony.

If you like “vacancy checks” at 1:11am by hotel staff, this is the place for you. They won’t judge you in your underwear. If you think apologies are old fashioned and unnecessary, you’ll love management.

It sure is a uniquely themed and relatively small hotel, with basketball themed hardwoods, and headboards on each bed. The staff are great and the bar area is particularly nice. Facilities are limited and breakfast is not included. The building infrastructure

I’ve ever stayed at and the concrete on the balcony was crumbling. I do think that the hotel was overpriced for the services on offer but you can’t beat the location.

We came for our 13th anniversary 28 years after meeting at Carolina as undergrads. The hotel had the perfect mix of fun- basketball headboards- with sophistication and comfort. Loved all the personal nostalgic touches- the keycards featured alumni and their “check in” and “check out” dates from their time at Carolina.

Very relaxed and refreshed after a night there.

The property itself and staff were great. We were disappointed with one staff member who removed the basketballs at 8:45 pm when the kids were told they could play until 9:30pm. She stated that a guest complained and so one guest was allowed to ruin the experience for 3 other families. Due to a baseball camp we had limited other time to enjoy this feature. The breakfast food in trophy room wasn’t the best but the coffees were awesome. Rooms were clean and front desk staff was extremely helpful. The Granville towers replica dorm room was cool to show my son since I stayed there while in school.
