location is great
price is too high for a motel
I loved absolutely everything about the Capri Hotel: the vibe, the design of the common area, pool, and bedrooms, the team and the location.
The staff was so considerate and welcoming! We were here to celebrate 10 years anniversary with my husband, kid and dog and the staff got us an amazing welcoming gift, a card and made our entire stay a delight.
We were walking distance from Ojai best restaurants (Duchess, Nest, Little Gem), cute shops and the farmer market.
We were so impressed how comfortable and beautiful the room was. We slept like babies and enjoyed the pool three times. Everything was super clean and nice.

The hotel aesthetically is really impressive. They have great style and I liked the free bike rentals, the heated pool and the jacuzzi. Plus you can walk right into town which is great.
The value just isn't there. It's a stylishly refurbished motel. But for $400 a night they don't provide much. Almost no amenities, our TV only had four or five channels, and no real seating, just the bed. You can easily hear people walking around above you.
Beautiful location
Room and hotel and amenities were great. Knows their audience and has very tasteful decor and finishes.
Walls were thin/noise travelled and the bikes weren’t in great condition with a lot of them being flat. I feel like they should pump up the tires daily. It would be nice to have free drinking water or more easily accessible tap water.
Staff were courteous, friendly, and responsive.
The rooms were clean and peaceful.
Although we did not bring our dog, it had a wonderful area for dogs and their owners to relax and unwind.
Our room had a small patio and it was relaxing to sit and read in a serene and quiet atmosphere.

Clean. Quiet. Staff helpful and friendly. Expensive for quality but likely due to limited hotels in area.
No free tea/coffee in rooms for cost of night.
This was the perfect get away! Super cozy and lovely — my family and I had a great time at the Capri. It’s soo close to downtown / where you want to be and the decor is flawless.
We really like the bedroom size, the pool, and picnic area.
A nicely redone motel to a midcentury modern charmer. The room was a good size, the patio was huge and opened up to a large grassy area. The pool area was very nice with a hot tub and fire pit . It was walkable to downtown, about 1/2 mile, and close to several restaurants. doggie friendly .
The bathroom wasn’t as clean as it should have been, it looks like they left the original small gray tiles on the floor which were also a bit chipped and the grout was dirty. For the money I think they should have totally redone the bathroom with a cleaner look. Also the drinking glasses were tiny. Instant coffee. The bed was too hard for me.
The room was clean.
The room had a dangerous area rug that would hinder a wheelchair from rolling across the room. And the room had no comfortable occasional chair. It had 1 flimsy uncomfortable desk chair only.
The lobby and gift-shop area are adorable — very mid-century California and exactly what the photos promise. It felt special walking in for my friend’s birthday, and we genuinely enjoyed browsing the little retail nook before even checking in. I also appreciated the soap and shampoo brand they use; it actually seemed like the real product, not the bait and switch of refilling the bottles with a bulk off brand that happens so many times. They smelled great and were one of the standout touches of the stay.
The overall experience didn’t match the price. I had arranged ahead of time for a simple birthday note to be left in the room, and walking in to find nothing there was an instant letdown. It set the tone for the stay and made me very aware of how little “extra care” there was for the cost. From there, the room leaned more “updated motel” than boutique: sparse décor, stained sheers, dated details, and a patio that was just a small fenced-in square with two chairs. There were no complimentary basics like coffee or tea, and the water in the shower felt oddly slimy to both of us. Noise traveled easily, you could hear every step and every open and close of the slider from the room above. Combined with the A/C blowing directly onto the bed, it made sleeping uncomfortable. $420 a night was a splurge for a special occasion, but I honestly felt swindled. I wouldn’t book here again.
